I was planning on a borrowing a Spectre if I was going to do it. Also, the FIU stadium is not a huge stadium, its an open one that looks like it wouldnt be that difficult to land in. My university's homecoming committee has asked me if I could jump into the stadium for our homecoming game. Problem is I do not have a PRO rating, but I have heard of others doing demo jumps who do not have a PRO rating. Knowing my drop zone is conservative on issues like this, what do I have to do so I can be able to jump. Feedback on things like insurance, plane would be greatly appreciated. I am 5'6 145lbs; It is a Javelin Odyssey J1 with Sabre2 150 (excellent beginner canopy for your weight) with a PD 143 Reserve. Cypres not included. LOL! dont even get me started. I dont remember you, but I did meet Pete about 3 weeks ago at SDA. As far as I know about the current DZ management, they came and bought was was left over from the previous' owners estate after he past away and started up again Skydive Miami. I have to agree with Pete. I went there for the second time to skydive america (the first time, it was a slow weekend) the sunday before Rantoul and i had the same preconceived notions. Turned out that I was wrong, and Skydive America is definately a good DZ to be around with. I even had the chance to jump with a few guys who had ADs. I will definately be going more often to Pahokee, because now I know people there. Dont talk smack just because Skydive Miami is a relatively small dropzone compared to others. Just because an other dz is bigger doesnt make it better. It just pisses me off when people talk sh** about things they dont know. Come to Skydive Miami, much more friendlier, personal DZ IMO. We recently upgraded to a Super Caravan and theres always a few regulars hanging about, or you can jump with the staff who are extremely good at RW and freeflying. I was there and here is my story: The helicopter took off and went forward about 10 yards before the pilot did a hard bank to the right at that time I saw corn flying all over place and what seemed to be a bag. Well, Rod circles the area and lands in a hurry, then I saw someone start to run to were the blade hit the corn. I got in my golf cart, and saw that what i thought was a bag was actually the lower half of the victims body. I didnot see any portion of his body above his upper torso. There was a fellow DZ.commer, Rhino, who was on the side of the helicopter when it happened. Whe he gets back im sure he will tell what he saw. Seeing that the 727 will be there the 9th, I asked my boss if there is any way I can extend my vacation, since I would have left the 5th. Amazingly, she said YES!!!! WOOOHOO!!! I called Da Kine to see if they had any freefly pants that would fit me and in the color scheme I wanted. Chuck took the time to go through his stock pants and found one just how I wanted it. It arrived two days later, and I must say it is better than he described. They may not be the cheapest, but Da Kine has certainly some, if not the best designs out there.

I faxed them the demo request form on a Monday and got an email on Tuesday stating that the canopy will be sent out the same day. I got it in 2 days via FedEx. I was like wow that was fast!
