I'm pretty sure they don't have that many, but I could be wrong. Where'd you find the numbers? And I'm not underestimating them, it's just fact that they have a shitty air force compared to ours, with shittier equipment and shittier pilots. Not to say they couldn't do some damage, but it's nothing compared to our capabilities. Well we were talking about them taking out some of our aircraft, boats, etc. in theatre. You're now talking about them attacking D.C. and NY. Which is first off, not what I was refering to, and secondly, impossible for them to get to. And now that you'll probably argue on that point, please explain how the Chinese will launch a conventional attack on our Eastern seaboard? Yeah we couldn't win a land war most likely, that doesn't mean that they will just jump to nukes. The Chinese govt is so obsessed w/ China's future survival, that they won't risk nukes to have their country destroyed. They'd rather continue their state's survival and hopeful prosperity than to guarantee its non-existence.

Finally I've got some time for DZ.com!.... I bet I would like the Chinese people, especially since the majority of them want nothing to do w/ war and the US and probably will stand against the govt in masses if a draft was called. I just want to go put shrapnel through some of the leaders and their cronies!

I worship the tooth fairy.. and am proud off it!

Tell that bastard tooth fairy to give me more money...he didn't account for inflation! -
They have a shitload of combat aircraft and a few old soviet junkers such as AN-2s for airlift. Their airlift is non existent, especially after some -16s, -15s, and -22s have their way with them. No, it's called equal retaliation. You don't nuke someone's capital for taking out your planes, tanks or boats. That's conventional war, thus requiring a conventional response (or guerilla maybe), but certainly not nuclear. The hope is that China isn't insane enough to respond w/ nukes. I don't think they are since they know we'd wipe their entire country into the stone age if they attacked us w/ nukes.

Come on, just having a little fun...I don't want to kill your firends. Sometimes a shootin match is what we want in a sick way...it sucks when you practice but don't compete, you know? Anyways, only twisted humor, I don't really want to kill a bunch of innocent people, that's not my thing. But dropping some iron on a bunch of army dudes while blasting a few Migs after China started some shit would be good in some ways.
-
Here's the problem, you want it both ways. First, you want the cops to act so that people are kept safe, yet you don't want anyone to be shot unless 100% proven they are a threat to others. It's one or the other, and unfortunately the latter one almost guarantees death for many. Guess you could think of it as the lesser of two evils if you want.
-
Well, lets just hope war doesn't happen, and if it does, it remains a non-nuclear one. On a good note though, it'd sure be fun to drop iron on them! Although their SAM network wouldn't be so fun...but those things suck anyways.
-
Oh no, I didn't say anything about nukes. If it escalates to that, half the world is fucked. Theres no stopping that militarily...as far as I know, but who knows what crazy shit we have. Maybe the guys w/ the almighty space wings can save us! God those are so gay...ok, back on topic.
-
Yeah it sucks to see a guy die if in fact he didn't have a bomb. But it would suck a whole lot worse to see 120 people die. I'd rather have him be killed b/c of a very likely threat then to blink and open my eyes to see a whole bunch of people dead.
-
Ok, imagine China not being able get any soldiers off their land and onto the US, Taiwan, etc. If we want to, China won't be getting military members anywhere. They pretty much don't have airlift and are thus limited to ships and boats...which would be decimated by our Navy and AF immediately. Sure a full on land invasion into China would suck, but as far as keeping them in their own damn country...not a problem.

I like artistcalledian!...for once

The guy said he had a bomb in his bag, then reached into the bag. I don't care if he was joking or not, the cop did the right thing. Same situation if I said I had a gun in a bank, then reached inside my coat...any person with balls would do something at that point, and shooting me wouldn't be a wrong decision. Inaction gets people killed, action saves lives.
-
Well ok, lets go back to the original post. Would China just flatten us out like the original guy said? I'm not saying we could successfully take over and occupy China. But beat them into submission, yeah we could do that.
-
Well there's a difference if you only have a vague thought that the guy might know where it is and if you know he knows where it is b/c you caught him running away while his buddy w/ the IED got away. And yeah, breaking his ribs will work when you radio it to someone else who checks it out and then doesn't find anything. He'll get the message real quick that you're not fucking around.
-
Well I'm sure you argue our economy is shitty right now...so what you're saying is we'd lose to China today if we went to war?
-
Because that's the topic of the post, so that's why all of this in assumption that a shooting match will occur.
-
Because our military power and superiority is not linked to who makes our TVs. Yeah, China could just stop making TVs and such, but that doesn't weaken our military any.

The govt/intl community define legitimate, the officers provide oversight. Now of course I agree that this is the perfect scenario and people can get out of hand. However, some people are getting up in arms saying that the US military is torturing people back and forth. That's just not happening. There are some bad apples, but in general, no we don't do that. (Not saying you're one of those people). Hopefully the MPs and skycops are making good judgements on who is a bystander and who is criminal. The arsenal of legal methods does not usually work in a time sensitive case. Even if it's an interrogation in the back of a house, if some guy knows where the IED is planted that will surely kill the next squad of Marines to walk by, then yeah, there's no problem twisting the location out of the guy to save some buddies (assuming he doesn't tell you when given the chance). Many times, no politically correct/you can have a lawyer interrogation is going to work in situtations like that. The proven ones, such as Zarqawi. That guy gets captured...boo hoo if his jaw gets dislocated. how bout the intel situation above? Really want to not do anything to the guy keeping his mouth shut when a bunch of your friends are running out of time? Guess you gotta be in that situation to understand sometimes.
-
yeah, it was spelled that way for a reason...
-
Did he commit suicide to kill thousands of innocent poeple /aliens in that case? No, they were attacking his home. Were kamakazi pilots running into innocent people or armed enemies? Are US soldiers partaking in dangerous missions to kill innocent people or bad guys? There's brave, and then there's cowardice. Terrorists don't fit the bill (at least in the 9/11 case).

What do you call 3000 semen leaving port? 1500 couples!! Go Navy!!!!

Funny how you think the country of origin of a TV or waffle iron has any significance in the political world. That has no bearing on one country's ability to kick the shit out of another.
-
No...but we're not running the Hanoi Hilton here. I don't think anyone is beating confessions out of anyone. If there's any legitimate arm twisting, it's done to get much needed intel, something I have no problem with (and remember, I defined what I mean by arm twisting). If someone gets beat for a false confession or just for the hell of it, that's wrong, no matter who's getting beat or who's doing the beating. What kind of lame ass bars do you frequent! And how many detainees are strapped to chairs and beaten by US military personnel? I'm sure some idiots have done it, but it's certainly not rampant among military members nor tolerated. Uh, I was responding to your new description of a bar fight, considering that was the sub-topic...so woosh right back at you.
