    Really? Well I stand corrected if he used those words...but he didn't say we will bury you with our nuclear arsenal did he? (just checking). A statement like "we will bury you" is merely the beating of the chest that took place back then, whoopty fucking do (sp?). We all did it, we all still do it, who gives a rat's ass. That's not the point. I still stand by the fact that Khruschev just did not display the suicidal demeanor that Islamic groups do today. He beat his chest, just like we did and states all around the world today (including us) do. That's part of intl politics. But the SU certainly did not portray the amount of suicidal animosity towards us that Islamic groups do today...regardless of weaponry capability.

    So the Holloways are suing the van der Sloots...what basis do they have for this lawsuit? I'm asking b/c I have no idea and can't seem to find the info anywhere, so thought maybe someone (i.e. lawrocket) could fill me in. I know it seems practically obvious that the kid had something, if not everything, to do w/ Natalie's disappearance, and the father helped in some way to cover it up, but that's just assumption at this point. There isn't any proof that the van der Sloots did anything, despite the "it's obvious!" argument. If there's no real evidence against them, why are the Holloway's suing? What do they stand to gain from this? Are the courts just going to "laugh" at this?

    Actually the SU was very smart and never once showed the kind of "suicidal" tendencies that Islamic groups do today. Yes we escalated back and forth w/ each other, but never once did the SU say that they were completely willing to take nuclear holocaust for a nuclear holocaust on us. Only Castro was insane enough to suggest that, not Khruschev. They acted agressively at times, yes, but they did not say "we will bury you with nuclear arms" or anything along those lines. What has Iran's president said in the recent past? Completely different my friend.

    Makes sense, but at the same time you need to see the point of view that the terrorists HATE us more than China or the SU ever has in the past. We were rivals to the SU for hegemony, we're rivals to the Chinese now for hegemony, but despite that, they still do not hate us even close to the amount that these Islamic groups do. China doesn't have the will to launch on the US and in turn receive total anihilation, but Islam sees it different...they're the ones who believe all of them dying is worth it for the "cause." They have the will to sacrifice MAD, China and NK don't.

    It doesn't matter if we spend a billion cajillion times more on defense...all it takes is a million bucks from the terrorists to buy a working nuclear bomb, probably less...but I don't know about those things. And believe me, they're swimming in millions of dollars. So just b/c we spend an assload doesn't mean that someone spending a few measely bucks comparatively can't do horrible harm to us.

    You can blame almost all the problems in that region (during that period) on Suharto and his cronyism. THe guy was patronaging out the ass and just destroying every aspect of the region.

    Ok, I've been over this a thousand times...well maybe 5 times, but either way, people should read the thread before posting incorrect responses. I was pissed when I wrote it and recanted on the "majority" or even "most" thing. It's a large number in several regions of the world. So no, I do not ASSume 90% of Muslims are idiots. There is no lack of understanding...now I gotta get back to work, lunch over. P.S. Did you like how clever it was to capitalize the ASS in assume...I'm so happy w/ myself now! Unsurmountable creativity is so cool!

    True, which is why I recanted from"majority" and made it to large numbers around several areas of the world. The point I'm making is more of a comparative one...i.e. it's Islam who is bringing the most threat against the western world, and yes, it's in the tens of thousands who mean death and destruction. Yes I've had experience with Islam outside of the media and yes they are generally great people. I'm not here to say every Muslim is an asshat (sorry for giving that feeling earlier), but just that Islam in general is producing incredible amounts of violent problems vs any other religion, group of people.

    I think it's painfully obvious he was referring to post-Korea...and at that point, at least they only attacked their enemy S. Korea instead of just attacking everyone else in the world for no reason. But I agree, lets watch MASH!

    And see my reply to Kallend. Same thing applies to all of these. Remember, the point I was making is that it's Muslims who go out of their way, out of their borders to blame someone else who has nothing to do w/ the situation and attack them anyways. This is not about who fights among each other or one other "arch enemy," it's about who wants to destroy every western country, race, religion in the world.

    No I didn't. Have those groups gone at anyone else besides each other? Hey, they have their own little war, fine...but it's Islam who's trying to make the entire world their own battle ground and everyone who's not them their enemy. At least the Catholics just hated the Protestants and went after them and vice versa. They didn't try to blame jews for the problems or blame Muslims for their problems and start attacking Israel or Iran.

    Kenya, Tanzania, Yemen...just too add more to the list of countries who have seen violence from Islam, not just merely afraid of Islam. And Bill, NK has proven to be a guy w/ a cock the size of my pinky trying to prove to everyone it's really the size of my leg. The guy's a nutjob, but he's looking for attention where as Muslims have been the one who have been actively violent against numerous countries and people of all origins, religions, skin color, etc.

    Exactly. London bombings, Spain's train, Islam threatening to wipe Israel off the map, 9/11, Islam's strangle hold on SE Asia, etc. There's some examples of multiple countries affected by Islam's rage.

    An article written with twisted words and completely uniformed opinion. The guy said he wanted to wipe Israel off the map, the guy threw inspectors out and is blatantly starting uranium enrichment, the guy stated his goal is to gain nuclear weapons...I don't blame Israel or the rest of the world one bit for wanting this guy destroyed. Bottom line, he threatend Israel so Israel should shove a boot up his ass real quick.

    The press is complaining about the White House making them look like idiots when in fact they just outright say what the problem is...they're making themselves look like idiots. Their smear campaigns and bs whining is dropping them farther down the todem poll with Americans and they want to blame someone else for it.

    We're those riots comprised of people violently attacking others, embassies, etc. who had nothing to do w/ what they were rioting about? Those were peaceful for the most part in case you didn't know. Yeah there's knuckleheads from everywhere doing this crap...but guess what, out of all the people violently protesting for no good reason, 95% of them are Muslim...lets put it that way. Guess you're the one who doesn't know what the f he's talking about, eh? Or am I full of crap b/c your professor tells you I am?

    Well my point was more explained a few posts up. As of now, it's relatively only Muslims who are protesting violently as well as leading militaristic campaigns against anyone who doesn't share their exact beliefs, in the shear thousands. No other group is doing what Islam is doing at this point in time. Thus comparatively, it's LARGE groups of Muslims who are causing the majority of the directed violence in the world.

    Hutus - Yes, forgive me bill...I did complete space that one. Tamil Tigers - Didn't know about them. Point taken Bill, but nonetheless with a grain of salt. I think it can be safely said that Islam is much more threatening to the world as a whole than the Hutus or Tamil Tigers.

    Well maybe majority is too strong in this case...but the point lies on the fact that you only see thousands of Muslims rioting, blaming others for nothing, touting violence and hate which turns to action. Give me another group who has gone so far as the Muslim community in any recent time. I'd say the last time this crap happened was the Crusades. Now it's the same thing, but with Muslims. So as tbrown put it, they want war and enemies, so we have no choice but to smash them. Despite all this majority stuff...there are still FAR TOO MANY Muslims who align w/ this crap. Maybe it's not a majority, but it's an incredibly large amount of the Islamic populus to call it "a few bad apples."

    Ok ok....but what about the fact that in the last half century, practically the only group bringing violence, hate, rage, etc. by way of words AND action in this large of scale has been Muslims? When's the last time you saw thousands of Christian's rioting? When's the last time Jews, Budhists, even Atheists, massed to spew violence and hate against others for no good reason?
