Do you believe President Bush's actions justify impeachment?
idrankwhat replied to masterblaster72's topic in Speakers Corner
And we should have killed Hitler when he was just sitting in jail. Speaking of "impuning", care to give your thoughts on Richard Clarke's well documented case of the Bush administration's not giving a rat's ass about bin Laden because they were too busy creating a case for war with Iraq and pushing for a missile defense system? It's full of Bush, Rummy, Wolfie, Condie quotes, and everything. Interesting reading. "On September 12th, I left the video conferencing center and there, wandering alone around the situation room, was the president. He looked like he wanted something to do. He grabbed a few of us and closed the door to the conference room. "Look," he told us, "I know you have a lot to do and all, but I want you, as soon as you can, to go back over everything, everything. See if Saddam did this. See if he's linked in any way." I was once again taken aback, incredulous, and it showed. "But, Mr. President, Al Qaeda did this." "I know, I know, but - see if Saddam was involved. Just look. I want to know any shred-" "Absolutely, we will look-again." I was trying to be more respectful, more responsive. "But you know, we have looked several times for state sponsorship of Al Qaeda and not found any real linkages to Iraq. Iran plays a little, as does Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, Yemen." "Look into Iraq, Saddam," the president said testily and left us. Or Bremer's quote in Feb of 2001. ""The new administration seems to be paying no attention to the problem of terrorism. What they will do is stagger along until there's a major incident and then suddenly say, 'Oh, my God, shouldn't we be organized to deal with this?'" Or how about this Bush quote to Woodward: ""I was not on point, but I knew [bin Laden] was a menace, and I knew he was a problem ... I was prepared to look at a plan that would be a thoughtful plan that would bring him to justice, and would have given the order to do that ... But I didn't feel that sense of urgency, and my blood was not nearly as boiling." -

Hindsight is like that. Just think, if we hadn't helped Pakistan get the bomb then its current status wouldn't be so unnerving. If we hadn't aided Saddam in the 80's while he was killing people with chemical weapons we might not have had the current war. If we hadn't propped up Noreiga while he was drug dealing we wouldn't have had to take him out. If we hadn't overthrown a democracy in Iran then........ -

You have to be able to show that you can raise a quarter of a billion dollars to even ante up these days. That rules most good candidates out. Only those who have compromised themselves enough to get into the money system can play the game. Sad. But that's the reality of a corporate/lobbyist owned government. -

That's right. If you REALLY want to show your patriotism you have to take money from a few children, drive to a remote area and throw it out of the back of a truck -
OK everyone, let's say it together: Yes, he's an asshole, but he's OUR ASSHOLE. With that, we should all find comfort that you are not currently setting national policy. But that IS our policy. We create the monster, then we shoot it.

Well you certainly seem to think that this region building exercise is a good idea, regardless of its legality or consequences to our military, economy and security. Your share so far is $20,000. I'm pretty sure that they'll take a check. P.S. If you're interested, there was indeed a country that met all of the criteria that Bush used to justify the invasion of Iraq. Links to al Qaeda. WMD's Military dictator. Sharing nukes with our enemies. It's called Pakistan. -

Maybe I'm getting old and grumpy but damn, quit skimping on the punctuation and coherent sentence structure. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you're spouting regurgitated talking points and/or simply opinion backed opinion. Find something specific to back up your assertions otherwise you're going to get inundated with a well documented recent history lesson that the deniers continue to deny. (Ok, be nice Matt, give 'em a chance) Ok. Let's start with Iraq and "president had the guts to defend our country". What do you mean by that? -

There was a time when I thought he'd do it if he could. Heck, Musharraf is showing him how it's done. But nowadays I'm pretty sure that even if God sky typed his support for a third term over the White House that Bush would pass. He wants out so someone else can clean up this mess, or more likely, take the blame for it. -

I think the wars of aggression and torture/detainment arguments are pretty solid. Unfortunately, the deep pockets of this ultra white collar gang would guarantee an acquittal, regardless of how well the "glove" fits. -
I think that some might call that a recurring theme.

And their tailor, "Hugh Jass".

Change and real innovation costs money. The industry found that it could make tons of money by throwing bigger bodies on small truck chassis and charging triple the price. Made 'em a ton of money in the short run but has come back to bite them. Just ask Ford.

And wars are used to manipulate that customer base. Of course USA corp is just actually just a subsidiary of Conglomerate Corp. We've got the best government money can buy. Case in point: http://www.wtopnews.com/?nid=116&pid=0&sid=1291158&page=1 -
99% of this paragraph is a lie or distortion. I thought you despised lieing? I guess not since you are so good at it I think you've got your numbers backwards. I only found 1% that wasn't accurate. It hasn't reached a $trillion just yet. The rest is spot on. This just in, I was wrong. Kallend gets a 100%. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/11/12/AR2007111202008.html?hpid=topnews

Do you believe President Bush's actions justify impeachment?

That was really hard to read for a number of reasons. I'll just say that I disagree with everything except the "thank the GI's" part. Also, impeachment is not a viable option right now. Not enough time. Congress is split down the middle even with the Democratic "mandate" , the debate would be played out not in the evidence, but in the talking point of "this is just politics and retribution for the 90's" crap. It would be a circus run by a bunch of overpaid clowns. Meanwhile, things would continue to go to shit both here and in the clusterfuck that we created in the Middle East. IMHO, the Hague is the answer. -

That's got my vote. -
Yeah, some folks can't handle getting slapped down for talking trash... Nah, I'm just marveling at "oh yea, well my talent at what I choose to do is more impressive than your talent at what you choose to do." Let me know if you want to hear anyone boasting about GC/MS maintenance and optimization so I can mark my territory too edited to add: I said it earlier, that was a good shot. And it's great that the second shot took him out efficiently with no more suffering. But for the record, if it were me, I would have shot the cow

Numbers tallied like that can be deceiving. Example, how many people voted against the 2004 ominbus spending bill with its 11,772 earmarks at a cost of $15,780,533,623? It passed the House 344-51 with 27 R's and 24 D's against it. The Senate passed it 65-30 with 6 R's and 23 D's voting against it. Even worse than the vote, I wonder how many Congressmen even read it? Bush's statement on that pig: "I commend the Congress for reaching agreement on the fiscal year 2005 Omnibus Appropriations Bill. This legislation is in keeping with my goal to further strengthen the economy by cutting the budget deficit in half over five years. With resources already provided to continue to fight the war on terror and to protect the homeland, we have held to the fiscally responsible limits Congress and I agreed to and still adequately funded our domestic priorities like education, health care, and veterans' programs. This accomplishment would not have been possible without the excellent work of the Leadership and Appropriations Committee chairmen of both the House and Senate. I look forward to signing a final bill into law. -

It's true, pork is pork they way that it's stuffed into bills is damn near criminal. BUT, why your claims and Bush 43's sudden rebirth as fiscally responsible ring hollow is because the bitching was very subdued when the Republican led congress was porking out to the tune of 16,000 earmarks, setting records with each spending bill that they purposefully rammed through without debate. It's also very quiet from the right on their personal pork projects, when defense contractors openly rip off the treasury repeatedly, throw money out of the back of trucks or when $billions simply disappear. But when the left side of the business party wants to curtail defense waste and spend their "pork" at home building/rebuilding infrastructure (and personal pet projects) or trying to fix a porked out and inefficient medical scam they catch shit for being "socialist". The big difference that I see in all this is that it's the Demoblicans who are trying to figure out a way to pay for their proposals while it's the Republicrats who want to borrow for theirs. I think that's noteworthy and missing from the debate. As a "liberaltarian" I prefer to have my tax dollars spent at home. I hate wasted tax dollars no matter where they flow but I'd prefer to have them go into the US economy as opposed to an offshore bank. -
Wow. I leave the forum for a few hours and when I come back, it smells like pee in here.

What is the windage adjustment, in minutes, for a 1,000 yard shot with a .308 175-grain HPBTM bullet with a muzzle velocity of 2,850 fps in a 10 mph wind blowing cross-wise from the left at a 45-degree angle? I'll make it easy on you and let you assume whatever temperature and relative humidity you want. Quick: what's your answer! African or European? Just kidding. Tracers.
