caspar replied to linc_harris's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
if petrol is too expensive get an economical car!! half of you in america drive cars that are 3 times bigger than the cars over here (UK) "When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading." -

ive done 7. i went a bit nuts on my gap year trip to NZ. i did a 134m (or 143m - i cant remember) one there. the nevis highwire in queenstown!! bungy jumping rocks! jumping into water is cool but i got pretty hurt doing it. they told me to put my chin on my chest and cover my head with my arms...of course, they said this so damn quickly (i guess they do this to stop people wimping out). anyway, they just screamed 3,2,1 GO!!! i jumped and hadnt really heard what they had said...i went in looking striaght at the water...and as a result couldnt turn my head for a few days! do a 5000ft hop and pop....i forgot to when doing mine.... you need it for A-license (deland, where i learned didnt include a hop and pop). i did 32 jumps out there but because i hadnt done the hop and pop i was still a student in the eyes of a british DZ and had to wait a few weeks for winds to drop so i could do the hop and pop... c "When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading."

How much for a normal jump ticket at your home DZ?
caspar replied to livendive's topic in The Bonfire
basic jump ticket at my local DZ in the uk is £17. thats over $30!! i believe at a DZ near me they charge closer to £20! when i say basic i mean a single ticket, not bulk ticket prices.... "When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading." -
1/3 absinth 1/3 kahula layered. then pour 1/3 baileys down side slowly and will end up as second layer. "When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading."

what do you guys think is the best stufdf to learn at my jump level (43), in freefall. i live quite far from the DZ and whenever i get there all i want to do is have some really fun jumps. when im back home all i want to do is progress. i pretty much go solo all the time, i can only afford to jump twice a week only on one day....(and soon i may have to stop jumping for a while ) id like to do my warp training but havent got the funds for training. theres only so many times you can do 360's on your own for practice when you dont even know how good you are relative to others. i doing my canopy handling stuff at the moment so i keep wanting to pull higher each jump... i only ask here because i forget to ask the instructors at my local DZ when i go..... ive been tempted by doing that, might been quite comfortable, my jumpsuit is tight on me and jeans underneath are quite uncomfortable... i havent bothered because its not really going to be the first thing on my mind when jumping...that and im still waiting for it too heat up (in the UK)
