  1. main deployment/drogue release, Is that when the drogue deploys the main, unitentionally? Muff Brother 3723
  2. Once the drogue is out, does that mean that there is less that could go wrong with the skydive? Muff Brother 3723
  3. The last thing on my mind if I should have to cutaway would be hanging on to the handles. I would just be grateful that my ass is still alive! My thought my change after I've had to pay for handles I've thrown away, a few times Muff Brother 3723
  4. That's interesting that the rig being too big could cause you too spin. For my 3rd attempt at level 4, I switched to a smaller jumpsuit, the one I had on was really big, so I switched to one that was a little more form fitting. Also my JM did some things different on the 3rd attempt which seemed to work! Muff Brother 3723
  5. how many jumps did you have at that time? Were you still doing AFF? Muff Brother 3723
  6. That is very cool of the DZO, It surprises me that knocking out the DZ power, starting a fire and destroying a canopy, would not cause a DZO to flip the F*ck out! People flip out if you spend mor then 5 seconds in the door! Muff Brother 3723
  7. I wouldn't object to paying the extra for the repack. As a student I would be grateful to get back to the ground and would pay for damn near anything! Muff Brother 3723
  8. If an AFF student has to cutaway would they still be expected to pay for the repack? As a student most everything is included in the cost: gear rental, pack jobs, jumps, instructers, etc. Of course the cost doesn't seem to take in the equation the possibility of a chop Muff Brother 3723
  9. I failed level 4. My first attempt, when doing a prcp I went into a flat spin. Then checked my alti. and spun again! It scared the shit out of me! 2nd attempt started spinning without making any conscious effort to turn! 3rd attempt (all in the same day) frustrated, disappointed and mentally tired, I went out (with much hesitation) and passed it! As long as you learn what you are doing wrong it will make you a better skydiver. And tunnel time helped too! Muff Brother 3723
  10. I once got in the plane and the whole ride up I thought I am going to piss myself any second, so I need to hurry up and get to the ground! 2 hours later I remembered that I never went to the bathroom! Sensory overload makes you forget about bodily functions, at least for me Muff Brother 3723
  11. Since someone brought that idea to my attention, that I could adjust my goggles without letting go, it is what I have started doing. I think I was letting go to avoid any stalling or turning while adjusting. But after doing it I discovered as long as I do it quickly, it doesn't really have any major effect on the canopy. 12. Ok heres something to learn from. I finished AFF like 2 weeks ago. I spent a week in Fla. Did refresher and levels 1,2,and 3 in 2 days. Then did level 4. My first attempt put me in a flat spin, because I dipped my left elbow down when I went to do a PRCP. I became tense as I spun faster and faster. Staying relaxed and calm and focused on being straight helped me not repeat that situation. Relaxing seemed to be the biggest hurdle so far that I had to over come. Muff Brother 3723
  13. I think that would be nice too. After a certain point your nonskydiving friends just don't want to hear it anymore. And your skydiving friends HAVE heard it, lived it, survived it, and surpassed it. It would be nice to relive those experiences and share the little tid bits of info that we just picked up with those who are at various points in their learning. I love to talk about my experiences, however few, are important in my learning to be a better skydiver. Muff Brother 3723
  14. The term sounded way too close to "eating dirt", and I wanted to make sure that wasn't what was meant Muff Brother 3723
  15. Its an interesting idea, maybe someone (you) could invent a system that would prevent that malfunction, or at least cut down on its chances Muff Brother 3723
  16. Adding more cutaway systems, seems like a good idea, like mentioned that also is a way to create more problems. The reason there are only 3 handles is to make things less complicated Muff Brother 3723
  17. Stay safe! Get that fixed Muff Brother 3723
  18. Were you able to determine why you were spinning? Muff Brother 3723
  19. One person told me that by letting go, the toggle could bounce up to where I couldn't reach it, or get tied around the riser or lines and get stuck. Not an ideal scenario to be in. Muff Brother 3723
  20. I loved Zhills! Very cool vibe, Lots of fun! Muff Brother 3723
  21. I like the name for the holloween boogie Muff Brother 3723
  22. What is your (collective) view on letting go of the toggles under canopy? Once my canopy is open and I do a control check and determine that my canopy is good, I would let go of one of my toggles completely to take off my goggles, to see better for landing. Some people said NEVER let go of the toggles, and others say its fine they aren't going anywhere... Muff Brother 3723
  23. You would do that in free flying as well right? That is if you had something planned with someone else? Muff Brother 3723
  24. What does "dirt dive" refer to? Is that the layout of RW on the ground prior to going up? Muff Brother 3723
  25. How many jumps do you have to have to do a night jump? I know it is a lisence requirement for a lisence other then A, not sure which one. Muff Brother 3723
