  1. Where would one take a canopy control class, to learn how to do a flat turn saftley? Muff Brother 3723
  2. Quotejumpers sign the waiver, not spectators on the ground. Might not be a bad idea. I've seen jumpers crash right into parked cars. The waiver should cover their person, and personal property. Watch skydivers at your own risk! Muff Brother 3723
  3. I love watching people swoop, especially ponds! Its very cool, and as a newbie a total f*ckin mystery as it should be Muff Brother 3723
  4. ***No person could make it hard against my will. I don't know if I agree with that. Test that theory out. Let a female try, see if you have such amazing control of your member, that even if she was giving you an amazing BJ that your flesh would not respond, without your mind giving it permission. 5. QuoteI worked in the IT dept of a hospital for 2.5 years. I used to work in a hospital, and there actually was a doctor who worked out of that hospital whose name was Dr. Butt (no joke). Every time I would hear a call for Dr. Butt, I couldn't refrain from laughing like a 5 year old Muff Brother 3723
  6. QuoteSince someone brought that idea to my attention, that I could adjust my goggles without letting go, it is what I have started doing. I think I was letting go to avoid any stalling or turning while adjusting. Muff Brother 3723
  7. Doesn't that 'sign all legal rights away' waiver protect the dz? And isn't there some sort of insurance incase a skydiver or equipment hits a house, person, car, whatever? Muff Brother 3723
  8. Because I think a control check takes priority Muff Brother 3723
  9. To keep you A lisence once you get it, do you really have to jump onc every 60 days? Muff Brother 3723
  10. I think I would shit myself under a collapsed canopy that was just fine and I collapsed it...on purpose! Maybe not Muff Brother 3723
  11. If you stall your canopy, and it collapses (even at a high altitude) how long, if at all, will it take for it to reinflate? And wouldn't you be able to tell that just from landing it lots of times? Muff Brother 3723
  12. Has anyone jumped out of a Cessna 207 turbo? It is a very small plane that seats only 6 people, maybe someone can share some info on what it is like as opposed to an Otter or Caravan? Muff Brother 3723
  13. Why would you want to stall your parchute? I understand when you flare to land, it is a stall, and it is important to know what kind of effort it takes for the particualar canopy to stall. But isn't that a bad idea to collapse a good canopy with you under it? Muff Brother 3723
  14. I was taught 10 to 15 feet, you flare. But again, that is something that you have to judge "what does 10-15 feet above the ground look like"? It can be hard because your moving forward and down at the same time, and some people get ground rush and end up flaring at like 30 feet above the ground. I have flared too high, flared too low and flared at the right time, just takes lots of practice! As for a PLF, when I did my level 1, it wasn't even an option for me to stand up my landing, I was told if I don't make an attempt at a PLF, I would not be allowed to jump there again. But if a PLF is designed to protect your ankles and such, feet and knees together, slightly bent, how could you possibly stand up like that? If you stick a leg out to stand up, you will not be protecting that leg/ankle IMO. I try to stand up every landing, most of the time I do a lovely little roll (not exactly a PLF) but it saves me from hitting the ground hard Muff Brother 3723
  15. Its ok, just as long as you know my comment was to commend, not offend. Muff Brother 3723
  16. I hope you play the lottery a couple times a day, in many different states Muff Brother 3723
  17. If your that nervous maybe you can get an instucter to put you on radio. that way he can help you find an appropriate time to flare. I have had more not so nice landings then stand up ones. My skydiving Samuri name could be "Rolls in Dirt". As for a PLF, I was told that they only really help with round parachutes, not sure I agree, but be prepared to protect you body should you land hard again Muff Brother 3723
  18. As an inexperienced jumper, I would like to avoid doing things like low turns that cream me into the ground, until I gain the experience to swoop. I'm still trying to judge when is too low for me to be turning (as someone with little experience), and hopefully I wont take a roll in the dirt (as I have done with most my landings) Muff Brother 3723
  19. What is CRW? Catch what? Muff Brother 3723
  20. If it is dangerous to turn to low, because it can dive you into the ground, then why would they be allowed or designated to a certain area. "You can kill yourself over there in that feild" And what would be considered low? Muff Brother 3723
  21. What is a hook turn? Why wouldn't some dz's allow them? Muff Brother 3723
  22. An exellent point. A fun jumper might easily do as many jumps in a day, but aren't lugging that heavy ass tandem rig around. I myself have done 8 tandem jumps (before AFF), and it took me being a AFF student to gain a new respect for TI. So again- I give you respect and admiration
  23. My point was (if missed) that Tandem Inst. work hard, if not by having someone to move around, but by having someone strapped to you, and if they are uncooperative could get tricky. There is potential for all kinds of physical strains that you most likely wouldn't have if you were just fun jumping. It was intended as a compliment, because it was eyeopening to discover that Yes skydiving can be physically demanding, not to mention mentally demanding. Muff Brother 3723
  24. Doing AFF and making no more then 3 jumps in a day, I gained a HUGE appreciation for TI's. I have hung around the dz watching TIs do 14, 15 or more loads in a day. At first glance to someone with no idea, you might think that its fun and easy. But doing just 3 jumps in a day I could physically feel it, and thats not dragging someone else's fat ass around the plane, just my own! So Kudos to TI, for I do not have that kind of stamina Muff Brother 3723
