:2:bunches EA (and Backbone Entertainment) visit the Pitt. Got a mix of progs and artists out for thier first tandems at Pitt Meadows on Saturday. Watching them go through training, then go up for the jump - I thought it was one of the best presented intros to the sport I have seen in a long time. The TIs took the time to explain all the gear, get everyone through a mockup and and positioning for freefall and covering non verbal instructions. Going up with them, expecting to just solo it, one the locals found me, not only jumped with me, but video'd and debriefed with pointers. We even got a quick dock or two in the sit. Went back again today, even sneaking out of work early :) Today was a 3 way sit that started off as my pre-second horny gorillia. Even if it was only 2 jumps, it was a kick ass weekend. More tandems from EA to follow next weekend.

Car? What's a car - oh one of those LV toting cell phone talking J-pop listening asian pseudo trophy wife driving 4 wheeled things that keep trying to run me off the road here. Ain't got no time for them. The little qwacker, mind you, is more than entertaining enough.

...and that's all I have to say on it.

Congrats 'old timer'

And another nutcase creeps out from under the rug, funny how I-Net dating brings them out? At least there is justice in the fact he is now one of 'those guys' - who got plastered on the Net. Humiliation can be an effective, if not hard, teacher - doubly so when the Net is involved Kind of like the stolen cell phone girl....

Hope the lil' lady feels well real soon, or at least the meds take the bite off (and then some).

: 4: bunches - for first jump from a C-180, predecessor to the 182, first jump from a C-206, first 'oh sh*t' near collision under canopy upon openning from a wild 270 degree off heading turn. Used to be really good at tracking, guess I gotta relearn that over again.

Just call him Some of us lads like the ladies assertive. I never ask for ph#'s, and I won't date a woman who asks for mine. Either I will jot mine down on the back of a business card and simply end the conversation at a high point with, "It was great chatting/meeting/getting to know/etc you, call me.", or they will. This boy is a firm believer in it's better to seek forgiveness than permission and respects women who do the same. That's how the current lady came in the picture

Hmm, spinners - never quite the fun ride they are talked up to be. Glad to hear all went relativly well (aside from a riser smack or two).

If you're serious - ya might wanna reconsider dating any jumpers, period - your mind is not ready for what they have in store for your virtures

(I'm a good boy, regardless what the ladies in the clubs along Graville try to persude):1 jump:a bunch. Friday - got boss #1 plastered at our Friday beer and cake gathering at work, along with a bunch of Aussies and Kiwis. Get a text from other boss she wants to go clubbing for the night - till 3AM. Saturday - skip Ducati Demo day at the dealership and buzz the bike out to Abby for recurrency jump after a 2 year lay off. Sunday - work morning, go riding with the lads up Mt Seymour and to Deep Cove, one of the lads just got his license and picked up a Honda CBR600 F4i - so we babysat him through his first real world group ride - only had one close call, will have a chat with him on that tommorow, now back at work. Great friends, great weather, great weekend

Back in the air after 2 years off (and set loose on Vancouver)...
GrumpySmurf replied to GrumpySmurf's topic in The Bonfire
No SDC for me The rigger is in Madison from 7 Hills - the lass would make me drive down to Ottawa on my own (she has little interest in sitting around a DZ, and I am a little short on change to buy her a tandem just now) - and her car is a PoS that I doubt would make it to the Wi/Il border, let alone to SDC Will try to get a jump or two in at 7 Hills, but alas that will be it - get in 11PM Friday night, leave early after noon Monday (Canada Day holiday - only half a day of official work time lost then on Friday - I know the Producers are gonna be ticked with me out of town at this point in the project over the weekend as it is ). -

Sunova-(insert long string of explitives) - I just found thier website too - I'll be in the mid-west picking up the rig from the rigger that weekend Mucho thanx on the invite - 80 milea ain't all that far away - especially when jump tickets with exchange are ~2/3 the cost of up here. Think I'll be venturing south of the border a few times this summer -
As one of those INTP engineering sorts - Two of the best responses to this I've heard - "Courage is not the absense of fear, but the realization that the goal is more important than the fear." "If you worry, you're going to die. If you don't worry, you're going to die. Why worry?" We all go through it - in time you will learn to acknowlege the fear and learn to work with it, not against it. Focus on what you need to do right, not on what can go wrong - close your eyes in the plane on the ride up, take a nice deep breath and smile. It works wonders

What is the rule of thumb for dating....
GrumpySmurf replied to adventurechick's topic in The Bonfire
FFA - Free For All. More a matter of DZ policy with regards to instructors/students. Never heard of a DZ banning after hours liasons between tandems and TMs. Guess AFFs might require more discretion? Dating? - I thought everyone just took turns with one another? -
Oh how I wish The current one, my angry liberal feminist, got herself the TNG Collector Plates - alas, no watching Sci-Fi alone here Now that she found the BSG DVDs - all I hear about is, "Apollo is hot."

That's right, it was a perfectedly flipped/inverted base that actually held for a few seconds. They tell me bumping into someone on exit is considered a dock in FF'ing Gonna find me some FF coaching, looks like I got docks on exit down pat. Anyone got recommends for a good FF coach at Abby or Pitts? -

*middle finger slowly extending* I am sure we both have taken each other out on a few 10 ways back in the day. Though I admit, it might be skewed more my way than yours. -

In the words of the Macho Man, "Ouuuh yyeeaah!" I was more worried about botching the jump objectives than mals or anything else of that nature. Then what did I first do - botch the exit I specialize in funneling undocked exits -

Since I was dared.... My comment was - you need to attend Grad School to find a guy who is not intimidated by women who are on the left hand of the IQ bell curve - to which was the response, "I don't have my undergrad". So - get one online "All I ever kept meeting were brain dead wankers, who couldn't add with a calculator, let alone solve the Grand Unified Theory - so I went to eeneR's Ever-Accredited College of Academics, and for only $99.99 a week, I was able to get my degree and find my own Steve Hawking without the X-Men wheelchair issues getting in the way of getting my freak on with."
