  1. High schools don't have 'political science' classes. Or current events. You typically have a year of US history, a year of world or European history, a year of geography, and some mesh of "government" and "econ." One semester in 4 years where politics would be considered germane - hardly good prep for soon to be voters. Your statement is not totally true. Here in our school district geography and current affairs/political science is two very different curriculums I would encourage you to research those remarks a little further before you state such things as a fact that is so all encompassing. http://www.u-46.org/cdps/majorcat.cfm?cid=9 Covering 90 square miles, School District U-46 serves portions of 11 communities in the northwest suburbs of Chicago in Cook, DuPage and Kane Counties. School District U-46 serves over 40,000 children in grades preK-12. The District ranks as the second largest in Illinois with 40 elementary schools, 8 middle schools and 5 high schools. As you can see the district I am referring to is not somewhere in timbuktu but a very large district in this state and maybe larger that most districts nationwide.
  2. Damn too bad I am not conservative on all issues, and yet he seems to know all about me. Personally I didn't care if clinton stuck his cock in a fat girls mouth...maybe he dipped it in cheese whiz to get her to do it.

  5. Colo. Officers See Possible Wolf on Video By Associated Press Fri Mar 3, 7:53 PM WALDEN, Colo. - State wildlife officers spotted and caught on video what biologists believe was a wolf in northern Colorado, marking what could be the second time a wolf has wandered into the state since their reintroduction to Idaho and Yellowstone National Park in 1995. Wildlife officers saw the black animal Feb. 16 and 17 near Walden, about 140 miles northwest of Denver and videotaped it loping across the snow mounds. A landowner called the state Division of Wildlife after seeing the animal 10 miles south of the Wyoming-Colorado border. Biologists and experts who have seen the video say the animal looks and behaves like a wolf. "There's really no way to be absolutely sure just by looking at an animal, and even genetic testing isn't 100 percent," said Gary Skiba, a DOW biologist and coordinator of a state wolf management task force. Rob Edward of Sinapu, a Boulder-based group that advocates reintroduction of wolves, said Friday that he's convinced it's a wolf after watching the video. "I'd bet my entire set of teeth on it," said Edward, a member of the state wolf task force. The task force was formed after a dead wolf traced to Yellowstone through its radio collar was found along Interstate 70 west of Denver in 2004. Colorado wildlife managers agree it's just a matter of time until more of the animals roam from the Yellowstone area, so they want to have a management plan in place. "It clearly demonstrates that wolves are going to be able to make that journey down here from time to time," Edward said. The wolf management panel released its plan last year, but is still meeting. Members are discussing whether wolves should be restored to Colorado, although there's a wide range of difference of opinion about that. Wolves were wiped out in Colorado by the 1930s after ranchers, government agents and others shot, trapped and poisoned the predator. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service released wolves from Canada in Yellowstone and central Idaho in 1995 to try to rebuild the endangered animal's numbers. Wolves now number in the hundreds in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. The federal government wants to turn over management of the animals to the states and remove them from federal protection, but says Wyoming's failure to draft an acceptable plan is holding that up. Wyoming Gov. Dave Freudenthal has said the state will stand by its management plan, which would allow wolves to be killed with few restrictions in much of the state.Quote Once again man has decided that some animals don't deserve to live and yet their number in these vast states are only in the hundreds... I would trade one wild animal for ten politicians any day
  6. Baby's Remains Found on Long Island Road By Associated Press Sat Mar 4, 10:16 PM HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The body of a newborn baby that had been crushed by a car was discovered lying on a residential street Saturday, officials said. A man walking his dog found the mangled body at 7:30 a.m. on a street near a golf course and a high school in Hempstead, about 20 miles east of Manhattan. The naked body had been lying in the road for some time, probably more than a day, and may have been struck by more than one vehicle, said Detective Lt. Dennis Farrell of the Nassau County police. Investigators had few clues about the infant and could not immediately determine the baby's race or gender. The man who made the gruesome discovery initially mistook the remains for a small animal, police said. Police were canvassing hospitals, hoping to find some record of a woman who had recently given birth. Investigators also were considering the possibility that the baby was a stillbirth, Farrell said. Quote Anyone want to tell me there is some rational reason for this?...
  7. I think he did a great job of illustrating the counterpoint to the speech he was analyzing (in the later part of his lecture). I also think he was asking his students to think. I had teachers like that. Their classes were exciting, interesting. I always form my own opinions, but part of my process of deciding what I believe is getting as much information from as many perspectives as possible. One of the problems with our educational system is that it teaches politically correct crap. More teachers like this one would be an improvement. rl Edited to add: I just listened to the second link, i.e., the full recording. He's a great teacher. That probably means he's doomed. I don't agree with everything he says; that's not the issue, though. The issue is that he is trying to turn back the tide of groupthink, one highschool class at a time. He's doomed. My entire problem is that at that age alot of kids can't tell the difference between an adverse position and what may be construed as academic truths. That's the reason to have more of a interchange of ideas vs. Idealogical Ranting... For the first part of that tape he may have well said he was going to tell them all about the world...at least in his eyes...and that hate filled tirade and self righteous tone would lead one to believe he has nothing but contempt for every thing our country is, and has given us... I know all too well what decptive and agrressive things our country is capable of. I also think there is a great problem in pointing out purely negative things about nearly everything in western civilization. If he wants to resort to the tactics he used with the information he represented as fact, he should be a political science or current affairs teacher, instead of a geography teacher. I didn't hear anything in his entire lecture that had to do with his lesson plan for the subject he teaches. I too had teachers that would challenge your thinking, and expect a vigorous interchange of ideas and beliefs, but they were focused on the subject matter.

  10. Priests Purify Shrine After Bush Visit By Associated Press Sun Mar 5, 5:27 AM A U.S. security personnel inspects near the eternal flame ... NEW DELHI - Hindu priests who look after the memorial of Indian independence leader Mohandas Gandhi conducted a purification ceremony at the shrine after a visit from President Bush. But it wasn't the president who offended them, it was the sniffer-dogs who scoured the area ahead of his visit. After the dog visit, the memorial was cleansed with water brought from the Ganges river, which Hindus consider holy, the Hindustan Times newspaper reported Sunday. Bush visited the memorial on Thursday during his three day visit to India. The site, where pacifist icon Gandhi was cremated, is considered sacred and all visitors, including Bush and his wife Laura, removed their shoes before going in. The dogs, flown in from the U.S., were part of the intense security surrounding the president, but the Hindu priests believe they tainted the site. Letting dogs into the memorial also drew sharp protest from Hindu politicians and Gandhi's great grandson, Tushar Gandhi, who called the incident a "national shame," the Press Trust of India news agency reported. Quote I have nothing at all against the Hindu's and yet they seemed to take offense at the dogs being there...hmmmm the Ganges is one of the most polluted rivers in that area of the world and Humans actually defacate right into it... there is farm runoff, animal feces and industrial waste, That is purification? besides those dogs live in cleaner conditions than most of India's vast population.
  11. well John I see gun control laws have really helped lower Chicago's crime rate... Chicago's homicide rate has DROPPED approximately 50% since 2002. Now, what was it you were saying? well I guess you are saying that it took until 2002 to have a drop in Chicago's homicide rate? and this is due to the law that was passed in 1983? I would also like to mention that the amount of shootings that didn't result in death were not accounted for in your statistics. Also can you explain why politicians in chicago own guns, carry them even if they are prohibited by law, and also if they are a felon? and yet that goes unpunished by law enforcement?
  12. Is it a lie if you lie about a proven liar? Hey John you should try ranting for an hour of your classtime and see how your students react... no wait don't do that you may need your job so you can buy me beer!!!

  21. I have the utmost respect for a man who in the face of ubelievable odds would not abandon someone to death even though he was ordered to: I also believe the man is accepting his punishment in the same way he lived his life... He made a MISTAKE he took responsibility and is now paying the consequences. WE SHOULD ALL LEARN SOMETHING FROM THAT I also am in favor of finding out who in both major parties is guilty of equal or even more haneous crimes...AND PROSECUTE THEM TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW!!! we would afterwards probably need to replace all but maybe 20 congressmen and senators... I even have doubts there are 20 that are honest and have not violated the law or skirted the law THINK ABOUT THAT!
