    Then how was slavery repealed after the right of slave ownership was unchanged by our constitution? Lincoln read the Declaration over and over until he determined that slavery was against the constitution via the DOI. I know it seemed to be a stretch but I didn't see slavery returning after that. But yeah I see where you are coming from and we agree.

    Simply put our Constitution is derived from preceding documents and one that is included in that is the Declaration of Independance. Ask Abraham Lincoln.
