  1. Why are you being defensive about this? I applaud that guns can be used to protect yourself. I'd get a concealed permit if I could take my gun into national parks where I'm more concerned about drunk rednecks than bears. If the Chinese were worried about protecting themselves then they'd have built a great big wall. If they wanted to attack people then they would have built something that could fire a projectile. Hey guess what?...they did
  2. wow...you took the words right out of my mouth...i was going to ask you the same thing. This thread is about guns,...not gun powder. The gun propels the bullet. The powder is the agent that allows for that to happen. You fire a gun (pull a trigger), there is a low explosion, and the bullet is propelled. I love how gun owners always want to get technical. Example a gun doesn’t kill, but propels lead. Yeah ok...and my car doesn’t take me from A to B. I only use it for its for its fuel combustion. Gun owners always forget to add why someone wants to propel the lead. People kill and guns are used to kill. Everything else about guns is secondary. By the way…you have awesome copy and paste skills. Chicks dig guys with skills. Edited to add: Guns were designed to be used to kill...gun powder wasnt. We are talking about guns in here. Keep up. Low explosion eh? Wow I did not know that gun powder exploded, please tell me more.
  3. Damn, you are gonna be in trouble!
  4. If it were the local Naive Indingenous tribe, it would be the Democrats.
  5. In the summer months, I am lightly tanned.
  6. There is cavitation, but that is not tumbling and is only a few inches deep. Look at a few gelatin tests and you will see what I am talking about.
  7. I am way out of my depth here and repeating something from the dim and distant past. But don't the military use for example 7.62mm rounds which are relatively small that tend to "tumble" on impact causing lots of damage, whereas there are rounds that fragment on impact instantly killing you? Also a larger calibre would tend to be "more" lethal. The point being that in a military operation you can overwhelm the enemy system with caring for their wounded? Regardless I don't want to come across as nitpicking of guns being designed for killing - as a general rule it is a safe generalisation. People having guns in a safe don't benefit from self-defence and I recall hearing that often people who have guns intended for self-defence end up being victim to their own weapon. That assertition is completely false. The bullet is larger than the 5.56mm, so therefore at range it has more fragmenting mass. The bullet was not designed to fragment either, that is a result of hyrdostatic shock. The bullet merely rips itself apart by entering the fluid filled tissues at such a high velocity. At much longer ranges it merely makes a hole, much like an arrow.
  8. I bet it is not fun at all. Fence breakers, it's what's for dinner. Douglas, just remember there is room for all of Gods creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.
  9. British Subjects. Put it to a vote and live with it. I have never been in favor of the PIRA, nor any faction of Protestant Terrrorists. They are all criminals, and actually do more criminal activity than people would believe. Most of the problems in the north are the direct result of the Irish in the USA. They sent money, guns, and lent support to terrorsists on both sides and yet went without being investigated or prosecuted. So say whatever you like, terrorism is wrong. If they all wanted to fight, wear uniforms, and quit hiding amongst innocents. For the most part, all they are fighting for anymore is control over criminal enterprise.
  10. Actually we have people from Waziristandliving in the same town I do. Unless they are just posers with a bumper sticker
  11. Piss off, you ridicule someone for wanting to be able to defend himself. Shame on you. What would you do if attacked, whine?
  12. No elk for dinner? This Ribeye sucks. No elk for dinner, they are pets in the park, behind a fence too.
  13. who cares, it is now 9 degrees out. But it was nice going for a two hour wlak with the dogs through the park. Peaceful, and beautiful out. And the elk were curled up like a dog keeping warm.
  14. Also spraying the inside with diesel, Pam, or WD-40 will help greatly. Is your garage heated? It helps by keeping the inside nice and clean. My dad built one out of a 2 stage and used a 12HP engine that he got for a valve job. The only problem was being careful where you pointed the chute.
  15. Dammit!!! I told her to be careful, has she got osteoporosis going on or what? I wish that woman would listen for a change!!!! Karen heal soon, and stay that way. Marty is probably telling her "I told you so"
  16. Yep it is a heatwave here Bill, a balmy 12 fucking degrees out. You might as well go outside and tan eh?
  17. What about the poor little M1 Carbines? You gotta have one of those too! Sure but get it rechambered in 6.5 Carcano, and use modern loads.
  18. Two stage, do you have a lawn tractor, or ATV?
  19. Get an AK74, if you want to shoot cheap, and accurate. Plenty of power as well from increased velocity KE is the rule. 1000 rounds of 5.45mm is $110.00 The only ammo cheaper is .22cal rimfire
  20. Many jurisdictions are now requiring double locking and hold airplane owners responsible if they don't do it. If you can't be responsible for the security of your guns, you shouldn't have them. After all - you DO claim you need a gun for security. I never made the claim I have to have a gun for security. I have several security measures in place. Oh and good luck proving you had your plane double locked, and if it is stolen, you obviously did not have it secured at all.
  21. Not just selfish, but downright shitty. Maybe they want to live in a big city, strewn with garbage, so they can see what they are turning their own area into.
  22. You forgot the last part. It throws up blood every month.
