  1. it must be wicked to get paid to skydive!!! Wish i was in your shoes!!
  2. Wouldn't it also be one helluva expensive plane journey!!!!!
  3. Panic is also a fear for me to, but it can be controlled overcome, just takes time and confidence. Im sure you would be fine.
  4. Having read the article from "thinkprocess.org", wouldn't it also be fair to say that a plan never survives contact with the enemy? Such as looting- Taken from a BBC world news website - "Medical evacuations from the Superdome stadium have been disrupted after a gun shot was fired at a rescue helicopter" Moreover, on BBC NEWS 24 this morning, there were individuals and experts who were saying that the reason for this breakdown was that since the 1960's the government has slowly been detaching itself from the lives of its citizens, hence why NOW, 40 years on, there was this confusion over who should act as this detachment has increased over the years. Therefore, to blame the confusion on the Bush govt alone could be wrong, instead of looking at the fact that this style of detachment has been ongoing for many years. Thus they went on to say that they expected this to happen when such a terrible disaster struck. One thing they said however was that the citizens have united and helped each other out the best they can. So the citizens did all they could very well and performed most admirably under such terrible circumstances.
  5. lol something good for a change!!! Told you we aint THAT BAD!!! lol
  6. I wouldn't complian about Bush. I do know the facts and figures for myself nad i accept them. I might have low standards in your oppinion but Bush is a perfectly adequate president in my eyes. he doesn't think straight - right so lets evaulate that shall we? OK - first of all lets state arguments against my position. 58% say War in Iraq wasn't worth fighting - i agree on that one now as i stated before 30% think he has done abetter job in his second compared to 50% at the election. 45% see Iraq as another Vietnam. 55 % say he has done more to divide the country. 54 % of congress disapprove of his ratings These were taken from ABC news poll on Bush, June 7 they also commented it all equates to around 50 50 support for and against Bush. There aren't many figures to support Bush agreed. But why do i support him - i do agree with his policies, although many don't . I support him as a president. So you saying i don't know the facts - right in front of you. But i accept them. Clinton - had an 8 year year presidency with no historic events. 1996 - when the ship was bombed (forget the name) he did nothing . Bush did in Afghanistan. I might disagree with Bush over Iraq slightly now but not enough to disagree with him as leader. So i do have the facts.
  7. None. im lucky. The Worst thing is our street is on a hill so we are more exposed to wind. but nothing serious whatsoever. Im very lucky.
  8. Well illget stick for this ... but oh well. 300 over 6-7 years being Pres equals about 42 days each year ROUGHlY. Given the fact he probably only gets 4 hours sleep a night and is working in a very hard time which either you nor I can fully appreciate ,then that seems fair. Would you want a run down president who can't think properly? some obviously think that is way to much, but IMHO its adequate. Anymore than that would be excessive.
  9. its not a defence at all, you assume it is. Oh right so Bush can tell when a hurricane will hit and thus must never take a break? geez i nevr knew Bush could predict the future!! no im not being sarcastic. i support Bush and will always do. Go and try his job, im sure you will see why he might need the odd break or two.
  10. Ditto - its ridiculous. Maybe emergency proceedures could have been uptodate but it wasnt hs fault it happaned. Thats nature. I remember before i asked whether leaders should take the rap for bad things and they go it isn;t the policy anymore. Well because there were indiviuals who were irresponsible in protecting against floods, then all of a sudden BGush the leader should get the blame when i was told that doesnt happen anymore. Maybe it could be fair to say that if Bushhad acted in Iraq and there weren't enough resources - but how could see hurricane comnig 1 year ago? Funny how one a minute he can be blaimed, but the rule is that blaming leaders for others failure isn't done anymore.
  11. Well , at first when elected, noone knew how good or bad he would be - noone does until the leader acts and his results are discussed . Obviosely in a lot of eyes here, Bush has failed. But when the original post referred to things being better, that was because Clinton never lead his nation in hard times in comparison with what Bush has to have done. So if he has failed, then at least he tried to do his job than nto at all. Wouldn't it also be fair to say that to expect success from a commander is oft en unrealistic - sometimes they are forced to except things that they wouldn't want to. Assuming everything goes right for that leader is unfair, when for all countries, failure or comprimise is sometimes the option for them - thast badly explained but the message is understandable. I wonder what thew response would be if Bush had succedded in these "illegal" things? It might be slightly more in favour of him. And when they say they elected him, well who else was there that could have made a differenceKerry? doubt it. So Bush was the only real option. So whether he failed, thats all they had, and THEY ELECTED BUSH and then complain when things go wrong - well don;t elect him then the second time round. They had 5 yrs to decide previosuely whether they liked him and stucked with him. of course, that doesn;t include those that NEVER elcetced him.
  12. IMO - agreed totally about you don't try to elect. But the original post was referring to how things were better before - thast why i refferring to clinton and Bush. i see your point, but what Bush turns out to be or not to be is only found out after the election. I think Bush would do very well in a busines, and i think some people do not realise that he is leading in hard times - clinton had it relatively easy in comparison. So i support Bush, im more towards not on Iraq NOW, because it seems it wasn;t worth strategically and tactically. But i am content with what he has done, although i don't live in America. You would probablu have a different of Blair than most people, i dunno, cause most Brits hate him now - im nto affected by Bush action so havea differet viewpoint. just my o.02- but im happy with Bush overall
  13. good things? Clinton did nothing - he was a people pleaser. At least Bush is prepared to act and not sit on his arse - whether his decision were right or wrong, at least he tried to do his job. CLinton did nothing - when he did, Somalia 1991 went to pot. Bush might have been wrong, but at least he acted as his role. If you think that so many people hate bush, why not do a poll and find out exactly?
  14. I am also coordinately challenged , lol i can;t even really catch a ball!!! I had a problem with AFF level 5- i went spinning and tumbling all over the place because i panicked and i aslo thought i wasn;t quik enough for it. But tunnel time soon shoudl rectify that. This is a Newbie 2 cents - take with a pinch of salt! With yourself, i would wait until you have jumped before you start worrying too much about leaving because these are probably just very normal pre jump fears. you will be fine, that fact that you are worrying about this shows you have the maturity and capability to realise what needs atention and working on - if you can do that and with perseverence you should be totally fine. it all takes practice. Just relax and enjoy it. Good luck
  15. yer we do, manufacturing pen pushers and dopy bosses!!!!
  16. Other than acohol and tobacco9if that counts) never had and wouldn;t want to.
  17. Forgetting to flare on AFF level 2. ThankGod the Navigator lands you relatively softly and is a very forgiving canopy. Landed fairly hard on my front without injuring myself at all. guess i was lucky.
  18. The time to worry (I'd suggest) is way before the introduction of new fuel technologies (after all, when they do turn up ....we could introduce them to the 1st and 3rd worlds - if the will was there)... But we're still some time off that so we should be concerned that the population of [say] China decide that they have an equal right to us to drive (shocking thought!). The demand (and thus the price) for oil would go up somewhat!!
