Hey, sometime this summer (2006), me and a friend are going to the states for a normal holiday ( no skydiving - hes a whuffo) but have no idea where to visit. We have no idea what we wanna do but wanna try and find a placewhich would offer a variety of different things, and book quite early to save money. Being so big and rich in both cultural and social events, picking a good one is veyr difficult. Could anyone recommend where to go where laods is on offer? Thanks, Mike

i don't really say that. If people have the time to listen to me, then i definately have the time to listen to them. however irrelevant or stupid their comment is.

Hard to predtict, but a civil war could be a possibility if the Shia's get to much power. Which would = More dead civilians

A spanish friend was saying that Englih people are generally known for getting drunk abroad, and that they drink for this purpose only. Bit of a sweeping generalisation, but to a certain extent true among certain British drinkers. Is that fair, what do others think of what the British culture, whether it is to do with drink or not? Is that an innacurate stereotype? Mike

2 years hopefully, or maybe lunger when my lungs have cleard (too much tar). Cheers for the info, looking at your profile you jump at Nethers, and I was wondering if you knew whether they do like work experience there for jumpers wanting to becomne instructors in the future? ive read a lot of stuff about Nethers and the reviews are mixed, is it as bad as it is sometimes portrayed - i live quite close and seems a good idea to check it out sometime, although I imagine it is pretty good despite the bad reviews? Cheers Mike

Congrats on stopping the turn, ive never managed to stop it yet but a wind tunnel should help that!! It seems a very common problem. Good luck with the rest of your course, and welcome

What a trajic incident, so many helpless people just killed like that. Makes us realise, those who do not live in the path of natural disasters how fortunate we really are, and that one should do all they can to aid those in desperate need. Where we are, a collectiion of funds and clothes has alreayd begun, and many prayers being said for the victims of all nationalities. If you read this, please just spend a few minutes contemplating the effects on those affected by this tragedy, and remember how fortunate most of us are. R.I.P to all those who lost their lives, and deepest condolences to the relatives who now must endure unbelievable pain and anguish.

Not starting skydiving earlier Erm, probably falling asleep in front of the whole college during assembly, and then being woken up by the headmaster!!!

It was just slow when turning, and was a bit slow. Im not sure if it would allow me to develope my skills that much - its veyr forgiving so might let me off my mistakes and so i may not realise them. Although i did read it was very godo at letting students master the basics

Glad you are OK.

Hey, soon will have finished AFF, and am dead keen on getting a silhouette once qualified as a licences Skydiver. At the moment, Im using Navigator 240 for the student jumps and love it, but in the future ( I don't have a ego at all), would like to be able to develope my canopy landing skills so high performance landings should be optional within a few years or more. I read that the silhouette is regarded as a good beginner canopy, which allows one to turn yet still quite forgiving. Is this a good starting off choice for a first canopy? I will also definately run this through with the JM's aswell. (P.S. thanks for the help witht he altimeter, ive bought a FX 50 (think thats the rigfht name for after AFF!
