I suspect starting a post saying you are glad someone has a risk of ovarian cancer and can't have children falls into the "otherwise offensive" bracket. Never try to eat more than you can lift

President Obama Suggests Making Voting Mandatory
Stumpy replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
Find me a politician that isn't. For the record I agree - Compulsory voting = stupid idea. Never try to eat more than you can lift -
That's just semantics surely. "In the military sciences, the term military campaign applies to large scale, long duration, significant military strategy plan incorporating a series of inter-related military operations or battles forming a distinct part of a larger conflict often called a war." Just because it's not a full invasion, doesn't make it not a war. Never try to eat more than you can lift

"NYTimes Public Editor: I Was Wrong About Ferguson "
Stumpy replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
And now, what she ACTUALLY said. http://publiceditor.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/03/23/reconsidering-my-august-post-on-ferguson-and-conflicting-accounts/?_r=0 Never try to eat more than you can lift -
Glad Janet Napolitano is looking out for the students.

You seem have a problem with basic literacy. It's probably best you leave discussions about education alone. Never try to eat more than you can lift -
I know. I'm having trouble expressing myself. If you don't like their lifestyle - thats fine, don't go there. But they are entirely free to spend their money in whatever restaurant they choose - doesn't make them over-privileged, or douchebags. It just makes them successful and well-off. (Not even that well off - not THAT many of the employees of those big tech firms actually qualify for 1% status.) They are all probably paying quite a lot of tax on their money as well - CA has pretty high tax rates doesn't it? If I were you I'd maybe be having a go at people living comfortably on welfare, I don't know - in the hills of Georgia for example. Never try to eat more than you can lift

Did you happen to notice the Newspeak-like phrasing of the bill's title? Similar to "Patriot Act" or "Clean Water Act"? Typical of many Republican bills which completely defy logic in their titles and propose exactly the opposite of what a normal person might infer from the title? The bill is a total bullshit bill because it's sole purpose is to almost infinitely delay all proposals by the EPA. As soon as anything is proposed, Republicans will ask for endless delays while they independently verify the science, which of course, means they'll never pass anything because they'll just find someone to deny whatever it is; just like they do with climate change. The main picture in that article is pretty funny - talk about appealing to the republican base..... Never try to eat more than you can lift

This is a strange post. Are you upset that the market has forced prices up? Or that the companies look after their employees with the free transport etc? Never try to eat more than you can lift

Missouri to execute old man missing part of his brain
Stumpy replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
Huh? I cited a study that is just as valid as yours actually - probably more so since it doesn't come from a site with a clear pro or anti gun agenda. I'm not in the slightest bit concerned about that. Good on them. Besides, you mistake me. In 3 of the 4 countries I have lived in I am viewed as conservative/right of center. Only in the US would I be viewed as left. I'm a gun owner myself, however the self defence argument is a nonsense. (as is the protecting against a tyrannical government one but thats another story). I actually have no aversion to the second, however I do have an allergy to bullshit arguments like more guns = less crime. Look at the facts - it's patently false. Missouri to execute old man missing part of his brain
Stumpy replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
Which would be fine, except that most guns are far more likely to be used against their owners. So its a fail all round really. Never try to eat more than you can lift -
Missouri to execute old man missing part of his brain
Stumpy replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
But guns can. Sorry, I thought guns were inanimate objects, not capable of doing anything by themseves. That's true, but one can use them to prevent crime. And far more frequently, cause it. Never try to eat more than you can lift -

On early iPhones it happened. I still have what some people consider an early iPhone (4S, they are currently at 6) and I can't remember the last time it took a crap. I've never had one not respond to the power button, so a shutdown without removing the battery has never been a problem. My wife's iPhone 5 craps out every month or two. My oneplus has never done it but I expect it will at some point. Never try to eat more than you can lift

Is Lindsey Graham off his meds or taking too many?

Yeah probably true, but I just don't really have the inclination. I can fill the freezer at less than 400m and have a good time out in the bush on factory loads in my .308, and thats all it's really about for me. I'm selling my 270 because I just can't really justify it. Although I might treat myself to a nice blaser with an S&B scope or something at some point when the kids move out! I'm not really a fan of people hunting at long distances unless they are really REALLY good - have seen the results of some poorly placed shots and it's pretty ugly. Andy908: Obama worse than Nixon! You might consider the fact that Obama got his political feet wet in Illinois. Chuck From Chicago, even! One of the worst politically corrupted cities in America and the worst gun violence even! First part - subjective. Second part - not even close to being true. But hey, it makes a nice soundbite so you carry on. Never try to eat more than you can lift

U of OK fraternity: "So tonight we're gonna party like it's 1959"
Stumpy replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
As a matter of fact, the university has expelled 2 students that they identified as being the leaders, and are in the process of identifying others for appropriate punishment. I don't have a problem with shutting down the fraternity and evicting all occupants. Those not expelled are free to find other places to live and go to class. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/national/2-university-of-oklahoma-students-expelled-over-racist-video/ar-AA9A7T3 This action is really about setting an example of what is not tolerated, at all. Yep - this. This shit NEEDS to be zero tolerance. If organisations know they can be shut down for it they are much more likely to police themselves more adequately. I've shot my .270 at 1000 but like marc - I'm not much good at it. Its primarily a hunting rifle and I certainly won't hunt at that distance. Rarely even half that distance. Never try to eat more than you can lift
