I worry for the rust belt folk who think they have been "given a voice" by a guy who "speaks his mind" and is "just like them". I suspect they are going to get a rude shock. Its probably good for me with my company in GA, I'll probably do reasonably well out of the ways he will help corporates and my colleagues will do well on tax grounds. Sadly, there is so much wrong with that article that its fundamental conclusion is eclipsed by all the BS. The basic conclusion - Keep Politics and science separate - no disagreement here. Unfortunately the author makes his biases known very early with a few statements that are plain wrong. As demonstrated by the poster above me however, its a great article to provide confirmation bias for those who need it. Fortunately most climate scientists and scientists in general, particularly those outside the US, couldn't care less about the politics. Never try to eat more than you can lift

This. I feel for all those hoping Trump will be the great white knight to bring all those jobs back - they simply aren't coming back for primarily this reason, no matter what he, or anyone else says. This is likely to be one of the biggest issues facing America and the rest of the world over the next few years and its going to need something REALLY radical done to fix the problem. Manufacturing jobs are disappearing all over, and thats just the start. Automated driving starts putting paid to the logistics industry, the increase of AI and ML will start killing a whole load of other things around service industries amongst others. I think there's a feeling that this is all a long way off but not so - think about it, Google as a company (for example) is less than 20 years old, and look at what they are churning out. What makes this a news story now is not "we'll find the smoking gun in these new emails!", but instead is, "what the f*ck was Comey thinking doing it this way, at this time?" I suspect that assumption may not be correct. For everyone else in the country not paid by the federal government, there is a well understood and well embedded process for taxing bonus'. In order to do it the other way round for this relatively small population i'd imagine you'd need a whole new process and everything that goes with that - thereby increasing cost and complexity. That would be my guess anyway. Never try to eat more than you can lift

Trump would have done better to invest the money daddy gave him in index funds, and stayed in bed. That may be true. Trump chose a more difficult path and became very successful. So much so that he is a candidate for POTUS. That is what I want for a national leader. I want someone who had confidence in himself and took risks, learned how to use the law and stay within its bounds and advanced capitalism. I do not want someone who maintains a victim mentality expecting government to pave the way and make it easy for them. That would be BHO. Furthermore, I do not want a leader for whom the word scandal is part of their lifelong resume'. That would be HRC. Funniest post so far this year.
