Trump taps vaccine skeptic for new commission on "vaccine safety"

This makes me angrier than most of the others because its kids who will suffer - and in this case that's not hyperbole. Never try to eat more than you can lift -
Here is the 35 page document referenced in that article: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/3259984-Trump-Intelligence-Allegations.html Its interesting but at the moment, that's all it is until there is some corroboration of the claims. Don't be like the rushMC's of the world who believe everything they are fed. Some of the report sounds credible, some sounds sensationalised - which makes me think it could easily be fake news. If thats the case, there is no need. Trump is doing enough to torpedo himself without making shit up. Never try to eat more than you can lift

Governing is different from knee-jerk opposition.

The NHS has its flaws, but it's infinitely better than the US system. The majority of brits are fiercely protective of it, for good reason. generally, the main flaws are that if you need something "optional" (is that elective? I forget), then waiting lists can be long, bureaucracy gets tied up etc etc. But when the SHTF, the NHS are amazing. Don't forget - there is still the option of private insurance if you want it to get preferential care etc, but you don't need it and the socialized equivalent is generally very very good. Of course you hear about the worst cases, but 99.9% of people get great treatment. Of course, the tories are doing their best to fuck it up for everyone, but they are as bad as the GOP. Fundamentally the wind doesn't matter - the only two measurements that matter are the zero wind glide ratio, and forwards airspeed. Everything else is within the airmass so the windspeed becomes irrelevant (or you can work it out) As for canopies? Well I know my Tequila4 massively outperforms my Pilot but I wouldn't want to take it terminal Never try to eat more than you can lift

It's these people I feel sorry for. They are the ones who are really going to suffer and at this point don't understand what they voted in. Trump will do his usual thing and tell them how great he has been, but at some point people are going to start noticing the lack of clothes on the new emperor. It might be that it is built for utility not looks. And on the subject of drones: http://www.king5.com/tech/amazon-delivered-its-first-customer-package-by-drone/369760761 The world, she is a-changin'. Jerry Baumchen That's very cool. I bet the test customers will be ordering all sorts of rubbish just to try it out! Never try to eat more than you can lift

I'm increasingly convinced Trump is probably the best thing that ever happened to the Dems. (Edit - sorry, had to solve a work problem and posted that too early!) Some of my reasons being: Cabinet picks - its almost like he has gone out and purposefully picked the most offensive, and least appropriate people he possibly could, including people who have openly said they are unsuitable for the role! It's almost a cabinet full of caricatures. This has emboldened a lot of the GOP members to start throwing some of their more offensive policy ideas into the ring. (Incidentally - it seems some of the more moderate ones are starting to realise and fight back, which could make this session of congress very interesting.) Healthcare reform - Repeal and Delay seems to be the preferred option. Its also the option most likely to cause the biggest problems possible and set the US up nicely for a decent version of Single Payer - particularly with the threats about SS etc. There are things that the GOP could (and should) do to improve the ACA, but this is likely to remove the coverage from a LOT of people. The unneeded exaggeration (aka lies) Case in point, the boeing tweet. He sent the tweet that said: "Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order! " Its posturing and over dramatic, but it would have been semi acceptable if it had read: "Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control. Cancel order!" ..... but he threw in the $4B number in - which wasn't needed! He'd have made his point fine without that demonstrable lie. This seems to be the pattern. He hits a lot of notes that resonate with a lot of people but then takes the hyperbole and dramatics waay over the top. Even the most rabid of right wing fans aren't going to be able to explain away every single statement if he goes on like this if they have even half a brain - as he has an amazing ability to contradict himself even in the same sentence. That's just a couple of examples but at the moment it looks like he's setting the dems up very nicely for next time the pendulum swings. They just need to find someone halfway electable. There was a good podcast on NPR's Planet Money last week on fake news. Like the guy above, this one wasn't working for the candidate. He just saw an opportunity to make money on traffic. http://www.npr.org/sections/money/2016/12/02/504155809/episode-739-finding-the-fake-news-king They did say however that the right wing were considerably more gullible than the left. Looks like another one of Obama's legacies - peace with China, is already being put to the test. Watching Trump get up to speed is like watching a car crash. I expect China, Russia etc are actually rubbing their hands together though. Never try to eat more than you can lift
