  1. I heard on NPR this morning a report about how establishment Evangelicals are realizing how their particular brand of Christianity has been hijacked. Okay, that was my interpretation. It's the establishment folks who now want to be called something else, so they won't be associated with the new "Evangelicals" who are rallying behind Drumpf -- a bigot, bully, "divorced three times," club owner, drinker, etc. They're realizing that those new converts who are subscribing to the title actually espouse "values" counter to what the establishment E's have been preaching. Last comment in the report: the Evangelical population is realizing they're much smaller than they thought. Well, at least one good thing has come from the Drumpf phenomenon: establishment Evangelicals have been forced to acknowledge that some segments of their population are not what they think, and are making moves to disassociate from them. What has become even more evident to me is the separation of Christian faith and democratic government. There was a strong movement in the '80s to elect Christians to office. I believe that it was some vague notion that we, in America, could establish the theocratic government that Jesus Christ would lead when He returns following the Tribulation. What is fact is that Christians realize the government is a cartel of power brokers. We have now created a stampede of socialist cattle headed for slaughter. We need a power broker to turn the lead before everyone is ground into hamburger for the elite. Christians realize that refusing to vote for Romney was a mistake. He was a Mormon and we could not separate faith from government. Now we want somebody to stop the complete liberal socialist takeover of America. It appears at this point that Drumpf has the cajones to make it happen. Good one. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  2. Starting with a contradiction is an interesting way to begin his defence "He said the facts will show that Gunn ran from Smith and turned violent during a struggle, and the use of deadly force was justified." Never try to eat more than you can lift
  3. Isn't it telling - I have noticed that people seem to think that other people think like they do. They also project those feelings an beliefs onto what they believe others think. In essence, it looks like people think others are little clones of themselves, or at least should be. Speak for yourself. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  4. Exactly why it's good for most mainstream american beers. (Not craft beers - thats a whole different kettle of fish) Never try to eat more than you can lift
  5. How do you know that? He did the math in the "new style". And I agree with his math. Also beef is 1000 times tastier than tuna. I can prove it with science. (sort of) Trust me. But how do you explain bacon? Never try to eat more than you can lift
  6. Bill Gates was on Charlie Rose last night and and this is what he was saying. http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/san-bernardino-shooting/bill-gates-backs-fbi-over-apple-san-bernardino-iphone-battle-n524031 Jerry Baumchen Well, now we know for sure that Apple is on the right side of the issue. See this is where the letter Tim Cook wrote seems to imply the opposite of what Gates is saying. Tim Cook kind of implies that its not possible to have a tool that only works on this one device - once you write it for a single device, the danger is that it's out there. If that's true, then I absolutely agree with him (I wouldn't trust the FBI to keep it to themselves). I would have thought however, that Apple are easily capable of hacking their own phone in which case if they do this FOR the feds, then I think that's a reasonable request, especially if they need to get warrants/court orders etc. This is not my area of expertise however so I may just be mixed up with the problem! 8. Same result. (I pretty much exclusively use Google Chrome - I only downloaded Firefox to check that it applied to other Android browsers as well.) ETA - and actually, that screenshot IS chrome. FF is just up in the notification bar because I had just downloaded it. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  9. Mmmm... It does what it says on the tin. To say that it "sucks" is a mischaracterization. For instance, it doesn't say it will give you a blow job. If you expect all your software to give you a blow job, then I guess you're right in having the opinion that iCloud "sucks" (or doesn't in that case), but the fact remains, it does do exactly what it says it will do. What's the problem? I have 2 Macbooks, a chromebook, a windows laptop, an iMac and an android phone, which makes iCloud a non starter for me because it's not properly cross platform and/or browser accessible, like genuine "Cloud" applications. Of course this depends on your definition of "cloud", but mine is the correct one. Uh . . . yes it is. You can get to your iCloud files from any modern browser. Maybe you didn't know that. Nope. Any modern browser..... except the android ones. Never try to eat more than you can lift

  13. All true, now only really Triumph and Norton left (and to a much lesser extent Ariel and now Brough making niche, expensive, boutique machines). All have been down and out but revitalised, but Triumph especially is making some bikes at the top of their class and others that are as good as anything out there. 14. I'd love the opportunity to turn some laps in with an Atom on a race track. Me too. When I decide my midlife crisis is due, that's what I am getting. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  15. I have complete confidence the extremist fringe in the GOP will attempt just that. I think the GOP should follow the Dems long history of blocking, Borking and delaying. Let Obama nominate...and get around to consideration say late January 2017 And if its a dem senate and pres by then that should work out quite nicely for them. The GOP have the opportunity to consider someone center-ish right now, but thats the risk they run by delaying. Never try to eat more than you can lift

  17. Thats why the Ariel Atom was invented - there is nothing to fall off it! And what a hoot to drive... Never try to eat more than you can lift
  18. Trump voters are generally less well educated, older, and almost certainly white. So yes, some ARE that stupid. Fortunately, that's a shrinking demographic (by percentage) Never try to eat more than you can lift
  19. Condescending much? If you have to work that hard to try and make out it didn't happen in the final year of the presidency, chances are you are standing in a hole with a shovel. Stop digging. Never try to eat more than you can lift

  23. patently false and almost delusional. sickness disease family problems accidents loss of jobs lawsuits wrong accusations people fucking you over just some of the 100,000 reasons people might not succeed in the world or in life and mostly completely out of any of their control. People 'choose' none of these things. I don't think you meant to aim that at me. I agree with you. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  24. That depends entirely on your definition of success. There are plenty out there who put the time in, work ridiculously hard in low paid but essential jobs, and still live paycheck to paycheck. These are the ones that often get painted as lazy/ worthless/ useless by those in congress. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  25. What part of giving personhood status to fetus's and zygotes thus bypassing the supreme court "upholding the U.S. Constitution"? I'm pretty sure Ron is trolling again because no-one is that dumb. Never try to eat more than you can lift
