Says the man who couldn't finish a business degree. I sympathise, they are hard. I suspect you are trolling. If not, you have no idea what actually goes on in "computer nerd" land. Here's a clue - those "nerds" aren't paid really good salaries for just "showing up". What's your point? If you are a developer, location can be pretty much irrelevant. That has no effect on work ethic. I worked from home (not a developer, but same sort of industry) full time for 3 years, it's both a blessing and a curse. Blessing - flexibility and the ability to be able to spend a lot of time with my firstborn. Curse - you never leave the office. I was running teams in Atlanta GA, Sydney, Wellington and London which meant that I could be working any time in a given 24 hour period. Never try to eat more than you can lift -

Turns out its quite likely none of this is true. But IT SHOULDN'T MATTER. EVEN IF united are in the right and the Dr is in the wrong - in what world is this the right way to go about getting him off the plane, especially in the world of cameraphones, youtube, and facebook live. Even if he is a convicted felon, his past has no relevance. Zero. The dr had boarded, was seated, had paid for his ticket, and broken no rules or laws. The plane was not actually overbooked - united fucked up with basic logistics. United had not used all the options available to them to find willing volunteers. The "cop" has been suspended because he did not operate appropriately. United have already lost a LOT of money over this. They would have been far better off coughing up slightly more generous compensation. Would have been massively cheaper in the long run. You are flat out wrong here. Enjoy your police state.
