Pilot Emergency Parachutes - Most Popular?
JustChuteMeNow replied to slotperfect's topic in Gear and Rigging
I personally like the Strong rigs and I think the construction is really solid. Packing them is not hard either. I have also packed Butlers, Nationals, and Softies. I think ANY round is an easy pack job but that is just my opinion. I have friends of mine that do acrobatics that really like their Strong rigs and FWIW they recommend Strong gear to their friends. Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that. -
USPA GM pledge on landing patterns (was: Fatality - Brazil)
JustChuteMeNow replied to Bill_K's topic in Safety and Training
And exactly who is going to fine them. As far as I know the courts don't give DZ0s or S&TAs the discretion to issue tickets. Having rules for landing patterns is good but issuing fines isn't the answer. Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that. -
What kind of cheap ass girly bulldozers are construction crews using these days?
-
I know I could fall into my car at any time and not dent it. In fact I think only Chuck Norris could fall into my car and dent it. What kind of cheap girly ass car are you driving?

Hello Skyscribe, Every dropzone has different ways of conducting business regarding the transfer of student jumps. This is usually dependent on many things. For instance some DZs use ripcords and other dropzones use throw out pilot chutes. Ultimately the DZ wants to keep the student safe. It would probably be best to talk to the DZ that you ultimately choose and ask them since they would surely have the best answer. As far as jumping with others after completing your AFF training, at most DZs this isn't a problem since there are usually very experienced jumpers that want to help new jumpers. Often times they will jump with students on fun jumps and expect nothing. However, if the jump involves coaching of some type then there is usually some form of payment involved. This can run from a jump ticket to a jump ticket plus cash. Of couse a person can jump on their own as well and a coach isn't needed. However, I would again contact the DZ and ask them. I hope you enjoy your training. Post here again to let us know how it went. Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that.

Two pages. Hell they should have given you two pages just for the centerfold shot. That would have been one hot edition. Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that. -

Couch Freaks 2008 - Labor Day weekend
JustChuteMeNow replied to billo's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Hey Yeyo, I'm glad you guys are coming back for more Couchfreaks fun. Rembember to wear helmets for the keg bowling. -
Now this is the type of customer service I was talking about. Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that.

Thanks for the response Julio. Please try and contact Darktreader and work out a good arrangement. Perhaps not charging him the extra money for a rush suit. I'm sure other solutions could be worked out as well. This is a small industry and negative things as well as positive things can go a long way toward increasing or decreasing business. Good luck with finding resolution. Edit to add: It looks like Julio and Darkreader have already resolved the issue and now we can officially close this edition of As the Prop Turns.

If my account was shut down due to an error that was entirely innocent, I would still have the inconvenience of a non-working bank account. I found the original post funny and I would suspect other people reading it knew that there was an unintentional error involved. However, I find it surprising that an apology for the incident wasn't given. Instead a the follwing statement was posted. " But I do not need to take this." Like I said, I found that type of response surprising given the circumstances. Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that.

Holy Shnikeys! I'm NORMAL! I'm NORMAL!!
JustChuteMeNow replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Hey ACMESkydiver, I must not be normal either because my temp usually registers at 97.8. If I get a temp of 98.6 I'm usually running a fever. However I usually don't feel like hibernating unless it is after a day of skydiving and drinking hard. -
What type of camera will you be jumping?
-
Will you put Professional Dominatrix on the W2 or will it fall under Chicken Farming. Chicken farming might be more accurate because I'm sure you will be raising a lot of little peckers. If you don't then you might not be cut out for chicken farming.

How Would You React to This? (Job/Boss Related)
JustChuteMeNow replied to Gato's topic in The Bonfire
My first thought would be - Did the Dean of the School leave his computer on or does the Dean just not have good grammer and communication skills. That said I think that I would talk to him man to man like you are doing and confirm or deny the Dean's involvement. Like you it is very important to me to be treated with respect. Lack of respect is certainly a major indicator of underlying problems. I totally support being on time but being on time is not a black and white issue. Many things can legitimately cause a person to be late. Good managers get the facts first and this usaully helps to keep and retain good people. Of course the alternative is to over react and drive non-chronic abusers to a new company. New to skydiving and had a couple of questions.
JustChuteMeNow replied to placount99's topic in Introductions and Greets
Welcome to the sport and I'm gald you loved every minute of it. I do as well. In answer to your questions, some people do hyperventilate from time to time due to the excitement of the situation. However, there is plenty of oxygen to breathe and this shouldn't be a problem. As far as the nauseous feeling it could be caused from heat, dehydration, or possibly the turns under canopy. It is hard to say without more information. However, it may or may not be due to the skydive. Again welcome to the sport and have fun! Happy Birthday Andrea, Where does the line start for the birthday spankings of her hotness?

Of course for wingsuit flyers the new 6 hour AFF qualification standard can be accomplished very fast.

These types of needless accidents really suck. She sounded like a great girl. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that.

Personally I don't see anthing but positives to showing up to a course prepared and having read everything possible and done numerous practice jumps. IMO it is way better than just showing up and not having a clue. It does take some time and effort and hopefully it is the norm. To categorize these statements as negative is interesting to me. Of course I do realize that I too may have missed the boat by a mile. Fortunately I am a strong swimmer.
