i was wondering if it will fit in this container. i'm going to drop it off with my rigger to get it packed as soon as i get a chance, but i'd like to know if it will fit before i drop it off. if i had the reserve packed, i could just pack it and try it out, but it's not. just wondering if anyone could help me out. i sent an email off to rw, but i realize they are busy....i'll probably get an answer tomorrow..... _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

That has to be the most outrageous thing I've ever seen before on DZ.com! Surely you're not advocating that someone is going to tamper with his gear, or do harm to him? Making threats of bodily harm over the internet is not only worthless but its illegal as well. I'm trying to keep up with threads like these to learn and protect myself as well as my DZ, but posts like that is well above and beyond what I would think the majority of skydivers would do. it didn't sound like a threat to me, just a friendly warning that if someone is fucking with their karma, then they should stay away from dangerous activities. but, since i don't know either party invoved, and i always try not to jump to conclusions, i am just making an observation of one possible meaning. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

Who do You Think was the Greatest American
sfzombie13 replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
i expect that small, ignorant minds would say something like that. if somebody would bother to do a litlle research before blurting out opinions like this, they would honor his memory. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
i would reccomend to all involved in this sport to take a basic first aid course. you don't even really need to do anything much, maybe get a dzo to get a trainer to come to the dz with a cpr dummy and spend a morning or weekend. cpr is the hard part, the rest you can get from a book, but it's better to actually practice on someone, checking for injuries while not moving them, tying bandages, when to use a torniquet, how to treat shock, etc. i was in the military, and was a combat lifesaver, so it was pretty intense, but it doesn't take much to save a life. most important thing you can remember is don't move the injured unless his life is in immediate danger and how to treat shock. always do the abc check, airway, bleeding, and i forgot what the third one is. also, the skills are perishable, as my own example shows. but if you get your guts laid out on the ground in front of you, i can still save your life. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

Who do You Think was the Greatest American
sfzombie13 replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
read the subjest line....american not leader. and stonewall jackson was one of the greatest that lived. so he was a confederate, that means....? we was a hero before the civil war started, and patrick henry.....was a great man, not told alot about the real story in the history books, but then again thats mostly a load of crap. it was written by the winners. the civil war was about as cut and dried as me telling you how to become a pilot in a magazine article. you can get the basics, but then what? _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -

sfzombie13 replied to sfzombie13's topic in The Bonfire
i don't have a pic of the mother mouse, but here are the rest of them. we had a red tail boa that was 10' long named boots, but had to give him away. and have 3 horses and a cat at the barn, but this is the house. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
Would this have happened if the US stayed out of Iraq?
sfzombie13 replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
the one thing that comes to mind here is a quote i read in a magazine by a general: "we are not conquerors, we come to bring peace and stability" or something to that effect. it was a british general in iraq in the early 1900's. i'm not in the frame of mind to remember exactly, it was a smithsonian issue from mar 04. the article showed what happened after 60 years of trying to insert a democracy in iraq: sadaam hussein. it was really informative and eerily similar to the way things are unfolding now. what was it about those who don't learn from the past? anyone? _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
what kind of animal(s) do you have in your house?

i have them all except the elephant. my wife got a 6 day old filly last week, and i built a stall in the basement. she's cool, and i sat here wondering how many people had unusual animals in their homes. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
i just looked at the statistics in the april parachutist, and the majority of the fatalities were 'd' license holders. i am a student with about 45 civilian and 35 military jumps. i was signed off on packing after jump # 11, and have spotted and hit the peas, not once, but 3 times. i was on a huge student canopy, i think it was a 270. i now own a 220 raider with a 24' round reserve. one time, i had this rig and couldn't jump it because it didn't have an aad in it yet, so i paid a pilot for a plane ride and jumped out over a bug field i scouted out not too far from the house at about 9000'. while i admit, it may not have been the smartest thing i ever did, it worked. the point i'm trying to make here is that there is no need for additional regulations, if you want to get around it, you can. everyone should be aware of what causes most fatalties and then try to avoid those mistakes. if they don't, oh well. it is tragic to see someone get killed(i have), but to punish everybody for those that do stupid things is assanine. and the dude on the 24' canopy? what was he thinking? just my opinion. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

Who do You Think was the Greatest American

i would have a hard time choosing between patrick henry and and stonewall jackson. both were very great leaders and neither was afraid to die for what he believed in. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
i'm sorry to hear of such a tragedy. is his family doing ok? did he have any enemies, or does anyone have any leads on this? i hope they catch the dude and fry his sorry ass. that is pretty low. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

The Federals list of what kills us the most

paid for by the us govt. so you can throw the ads out the window, and don't ever use a tv ad as a basis for an argument. oh, and cell phones and eating in cars cause a lot of accidents. but that's perfectly legal. i would hasten to say that just because one teenager shoots another with an "unloaded" gun is a perfectly good reason to outlaw them. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
i've read this before. great article and some of the links in it are extremely eye-opening. there was a show on the discovery channel a while back that involved this topic, i learned a lot from it. as i've stated before, the fed govt is acting extremely childish in this so-called "war on drugs". and where do they get the names for officials?? i mean "drug czar"? implications on this anybody??? and who has ever heard of "posse commitatus"? do some research and then look at the national guard choppers with the erad teams(eradication). kinda sounds illegal to me, but who am i? we need to get the word out. give the power back to the people, send it to a vote, then if it's illegal, i may quit using it. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

sadaam would never have tolerated terrorist attacks in his country. had we not been there, they would not have had to try to drive us out. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
wait a sec, they tried that once. and now thank the feds for your friendly neighborhood organized crime syndicates. the war on drugs is a sorry ass excuse to not face the real issues, like addiction, crime, etc. ask any cop who they'd rather face on a call: a buncha drunks, or a buncha stoners. i had a colonel in an sf unit tell me he wished pot were legalized. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

make sure you follow the directions. when it says to only ferment it for a week or whatever, do it. i left my first batch too long and it tasted like apple beer. i had a friend that liked it and drank all five of them. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes
