at this point, we really do not know if there is any life out there or not. as lurch put it in his rather long and informative post earlier, if there is a way to determine the likelihood of life existing, then it seems to me that they are just an arbitrary number someone chooses to make the math work. there are just too many unknowns for us to determine the formation of life. i like to think that based on the sheer number of stars that there has to be at least one planet with life on it, but that's all it is; a belief. so, asking for math to support either position is entirely speculative, as there is presently no way to make a determination of the accuracy of the information. i may have missed something here, but if so, i am sure someone will correct me soon. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

according to one of my "hoodrat" friends, most of the outrage felt by the black community is from the complete lack of repercussions. liek he told me, they didn't have to convict him, just put it to a trial. one where we could have reporters to cover what was done, instead of this total secrecy. i agree wholeheartedly with this. i am tired of government secrecy. also, he said that there should be some sort of counselling and a period of time off the streets, like say a month or two. not suspended without pay, just a desk job. this would at least placate the "hoodrats", and would go a long way toward solving the problem. your idea of continuing education is also a great one. all police officers should be taught aikido, and nothing else. none of this judo, tae kwon do or any other martial art. aikido is a way to disable or restrain your opponent without harm or injury to yourself. wtf is wrong with that? it should be the goal, not a side effect. i like the fact that there are those willing to put their lives on the line for my safety, hell, i did a couple of times. what i do not like is when authority gets abused, or innocents (until the trial is over, they are all innocent) are killed by those weilding such power. we seem to be migrating away from the presumption of innocence. this is a terrible miscarriage of justice. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

one would assume that a college textbook could at least be written at the level in which it was intended to be used. hell, my 11 year old son speaks, and reads, at least at a 12th grade level, probably higher (the tests topped out, and he scored off the charts). i still get him with the experience thing though. if it weren't for that, i think he may a little smarter than me. experience is the only edge i have on him. i hope he never discovers pot like i did. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

i sure wish facebook would support html5, like every other major website. i don't use flash so i can't watch them. at least youtube supports html5. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
it was a bb gun and the one my son had a few years ago didn't have an orange ring. i read this and looked at the mp5 my son had been playing with out in the street and it has an orange ring on it, but it was made this year. it's a good thing too, it looks real other than that. i think i may get some orange spray paint to make it better. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

Mystery Cell Towers: Solved (and you're not going to like it)
sfzombie13 replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
your post summed it up eloquently. i normally do not just take the thoughts of others, but in this case, you made it easy. i really wouldn't take it without permission, i just posted it on facebook, but i may put it in an article that i am writing. if you want me to use your real name, pm it to me. if not, it's getting attributed to "from an internet forum that i frequent". have a great weekend. i am enjoying hack3rcon5. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -

i do seem to remember something about that in the art of war, not rank, but the numbers. i have 3 versions of the book on my phone and it seems to me that i remember something of that in the commentary which accompanied one of them, but not in the actual text from sun tzu. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

contract award for phone upgrade at post office
sfzombie13 replied to sfzombie13's topic in The Bonfire
because information is power. it has no bearing on the information, or the answer to the question. maybe i am a member of an isis sleeper cell and am planning on using the information to bring down the us. and the gsa does not have dealings with the post office contracts, i found this out from an email i sent to a gsa official. my next stop was sending an information request to the post office through a web form, but i haven't gotten an answer yet. thanx for the tip about asking a congressman, i ha thought it too trivial to bother with, but they don't do anything anyway, so why not? i will on tuesday if i haven't heard from the post office dierctly. thanx to all. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
contract award for phone upgrade at post office
sfzombie13 replied to sfzombie13's topic in The Bonfire
thanx for the info. i don't have any of that info, however. i do know that two companies had it tied up in court for years, and it was just recently awarded to one of them. i cannot remember who it was, and i don't know when it went to court. it seems lke since it went to court, there would be some record of it, but i don't know enough about legal research to even know which court it would have went to. i think the post offices uses the gao for their awards, but i couldn't find any way to narrow my search results there without some info like you suggested. i'll keep trying, but thanx. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
contract award for phone upgrade at post office
sfzombie13 replied to sfzombie13's topic in The Bonfire
there was a lawsuit and the contract was finally awarded to upgrade the phones at the usps. i was wondering if there was a way to find out who got the contract. i tried searching two databases, but there are over 5000 pages of results. i can narrow the results, but have no information to narrow them with. since it was the subject of a lawsuit, i assume the information is out there, but need help with where to go look. maybe i am just looking for another excuse to put off doing my schoolwork. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
i got a 360 for my son for christmas, he didn't want the xbox 1 because he had his favorite games. it was brand new with an internal 250 gb hard drive with two games, a wireless controller and a headset for $200 from walmart online. sweet deal. i have friends who swear by the play station, however. it is all preference. i am not sure if they have minecraft though. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

we finally got a candidate that i can put my support behind, ed rabel for house of representatives. but when he tried to debate his two opponents, he was not allowed. http://www.wvgazette.com/article/20140724/GZ01/140729517/1101 and then, we finally start to find out that mountaintop removal is not only killing the animals and destroying the environment, but also kiling us, but the government pulls the funding from the research.http://www.wvgazette.com/article/20140726/GZ01/140729409/1419 \what do i have to do in wv to get the word out? this peaceful protest shit is getting stifled at every turn. it is frustrating for me, and i have been an activist for less that a year, i can only imagine the frustration of those who have been doing this for 30 years! mother jones had the right idea. i often say that i oppose violence, unless it is used for meeting like violence, as it was back in the days when the mine owners were outright killing the orgainzers. i need to figure out a peaceful way to help get the word out, and get this shit fixed. any ideas? _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

not sure what the problem was. when i hit f5, it came up and started working. i will have to question how the analyze their data as i was watching the originating ip's and saw one attributed to military unknown with a 169.254.x.x. pretty interesting graphics though. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
