  1. if op is looking for the quickest, least painful way to go, that would be walk outside without a coat in sub zero temperatures and sit down. i hear you just go to sleep.
  2. you can make that claim, but it seems to make more sense to say that more democrats voted republican in this one since they identified with trump and/or believed that he would make a difference as he was not a politician. that was the excuse i heard most; that they are all corrupt anyway, may as well give him a chance. i couldn't in good faith vote for either of them. deez nuts for the win. he would have done a better job too.
  3. if i knew i would tell you. i can't even find a picture of it but my rigger said it has strings hanging down that were supposed to aid in clean deployments and looks like a jellyfish when you hold it up. they were not very reliable, so probably what you have. after talking to velocity, they said the 357 magnum was original to the container, so it's not changing out equipment any longer, just replacing missing items. the freebag and pilot chute costs $350 and i paid $100 for the container, so not that bad a deal still. looks like brand new, as the picture above show. the problem now is the size of the reserve it holds. just a touch small for me, so i may not be using it to jump, at least not right away.
  4. there are no good congressmen, only placeholders and compromises. the real solution would be term limits for all, make them actually hold jobs for the off season like they used to, and ban lobbyists from using former congressmen.
  5. i did a half hour in the tunnel at ifly in cincinatti, and they used real air inside. i then took my newly found skills to an airplane and jumped out (actually just let go of the strut, but whatever) and did the exact same thing and it worked just like it did in the tunnel. i am not an instructor however, and you should take anything i say accordingly. i have been trying to fly flat and stable in the air for years and only learned after the tunnel. turns out it was my leg position and since i was only in the air by myself would have taken a much longer time figuring it out on my own. when i went to the tunnel, i told them i was a skydiver needing to learn how to be stable and they put the airspeed on 120 the whole time. maybe that is what the instructors were talking about, as they usually (from what i have heard and read) lower the speed for "indoor flying" or whatever they call flying for fun.
  6. i am not that familiar with databases, but have been a network guy for years now. researching this has led me to find that in mysql, the max number of connections is defaulted at 151, but can be increased to the limit of the os, and linux was listed as having 1024 max. it didn't give the max for windows and that took a lot to find. turns out that it depends on the number of cpu cores and amount of ram and that is is theoretically limited to 26+ billion connections but ms sql is limited to 32767 connections, but that isn't mysql. after researching further, it looks like it may be reaching an os limit if hosted on a linux server instead of a windows server.
  7. i looked into it a little, but couldn't find much specific about it, other than to raise the limit of concurrent connections. ms sql has a limit of 32767 connections on a windows server, but i couldn't find anything specific on mysql, other than linux servers are limited to 1024 concurrent connections. honestly, it sounds like a bandwidth issue. since dz.com lost popularity, it may be that the bandwidth was decreased for some reason (not necessarily by you) and now needs increased, at least during peak times. that is all just a guess though and i've been wrong before.
  8. nothing like the impeachment hearings actually. i hate to think that some folks actually are ok with their elected representatives acting like this, but then i remember that if one is above average in intelligence, there are many, many that are lower in it. not that you are, or that intelligence has anything to do with it, but i would think it speaks volumes about one's character that these obviously criminal actions are not only all right, but to defend them with nothing but attacks on the policy or trying to say others did similar things is just beyond my comprehension.
  9. just like trump is responsible for all the dead surrounding these events. the idiot needs to go before he does something we can't fix.
  10. that is the only defense anyone supporting trump has now, attack the process, start a war with iran to distract, deny anything wrong happened, etc, etc. it is a shame that so many would blindly follow this idiot anywhere when his only political goal so far is to roll back the accomplishments of the "black folks", like the school lunch program. the real problem is that the supporters are too stupid to realize they are hurting themselves. we are just all along for the ride, minus turtlespeed of course, who looks to be enjoying it. god help us all because nobody else will, especially if this idiot gets another term.
  11. he said there were no americans killed. he was right in that statement. one of the few times ever...
  12. another one all in bold https://www.dropzone.com/forums/topic/55701-d-b-cooper-unsolved-skyjacking/page/3/ and another: https://www.dropzone.com/forums/topic/55701-d-b-cooper-unsolved-skyjacking/page/3/
  13. yeah, like the rest have no conflict. no.
  14. if you're looking for volunteers to test the bailout procedures, i'm in.
  15. blake from velocity got back to me and said it took the national 357 magnum pilot chute and could get me a free bag when i get him the measurements. i called paraphernalia and they have the pilot chute in stock. the only reason i started looking was that my rigger looked up an old manual and told me about the jellyfish pilot chute and that it was unreliable. turns out that i can get this back in the air for about $350. thanx for the info.
  16. does anyone know of a replacement authorization for the old jelly fish pilot chute in a northern lites container? dom is 3-'86. i looked up some old threads here and couldn't find anything but did get a number for velocity and talked to blake out there who said he was going to look into it. i figured if anyone would know, they may be on here. the damned thing looks brand new and i can't wait to jump it. even if i can't jump it, it would be great for our parasailing we're gonna do this summer at the dz. can't go wrong for $100.
  17. but there is something wrong with that, fundamentally wrong. it's called having a social contract wherein if you are a member of society, you abide by the social contract. we all (most of us) do it by paying taxes, obeying laws, etc. corporations should also do the same. i would think that the problem here is that it started from the bottom up, rather than the top down, an ego thing. i have tried similar things and been shut down, only to see programs pop up that look strikingly similar to mine. i could be wrong as i am just guessing but this is not a good look for ifly. i would love to hear an owner chime in on this.
  18. hard to say without all the numbers but, on the surface at least, it looks like the percentages for folks being arrested is pretty close, at least for whites and blacks at 11 and 15%. that may fit into the error rate but again, without the numbers it is hard to tell. i would say that although being black would get you stopped more frequently, the arrest part has more to do with warrants or other illegal activity which is comparable to being white, with maybe a slight increase. i would have thought it was more than that.
  19. you can cite anything you want but i reverse almost everything and it helps. you don't have to cater to anything by making the text black, as it improves readability for everyone. just because people do something doesn't make it right, so while i'm glad to see you're jumping on a design band wagon, it is just plain wrong to think that a glaring white background is anything but helpful when the text isn't black. it caused enough strain when it is the one site i use which is white that i have to limit my visits. but since you don't care, i guess that will have to do. not like i miss a lot anyway. something i have learned on the internet over the past decades is that it's ok to be wrong and admit it. have a great day.

    Q

i am not saying that i believe in the hype, but if there were a conspiracy, wouldn't the government do everything possible to convince us that it was a "fringe movement" or "domestic terrorism" in order to just handle it as they please? just because they call it a "conspiracy theory" doesn't mean there isn't something illegal going on. look to the stuff snowden revealed that used to be "conspiracy theories" which were actually happening. having said that, one of these days i may look into the qanon thing. right now i don't want that coming across my network drawing attention.
  21. thanx. that helps a little but when i turn on reverse mode it still messes with the contrast. it is fine if you use the white background but reversing it is hell to get it tweaked right. usually i drop websites that do this but i like this one for some reason.
  22. so much for getting us out of the middle east. what a douchebag.
  23. yeah, the nerve of them guys meddling in the politics OF THEIR NEIGHBORS!! they should just not worry about them and be more like us, pick a spot halfway around the world to send troops to and set up a government they like. you can't be serious with this kind of thinking.
