  1. we just got a bank, city national. there were several we could have used that didn't have branches in wv. i drop in and sign the paperwork in the morning, then create the paypal button for the website and start fundraising for real. i plan on having at least 5000 business cards printed up for the rsa conference in san fransisco this month. since we are a 527, we are allowed unlimited contributions, but they are reported and not anonymous. i can't wait, am excited to get into the game and actually have a chance to win!!! listen, this is what i feel like right now.
  2. you are correct, and the ones who show signs of treason, which is how i view voting for party over truth but am going to start looking at previous records, then i will call for their removal as well. i am not party affiliated, and damned glad of it seeing the disorganization of the democrats. i plan on choosing truth over lies, and have even contracted a former spec ops psyops guy for the campaign. he said it was his easiest yet, spreading truth.
  3. shit, we were better than this in 8th grade! that's when we were still allowed to get paddled. there are no repercussions to the criminal behavior and that is the root of the problem. not until everyone puts aside their political ideology and realize that we are americans, not republicans or democrats, and that certain things are wrong and we won't allow them will anything ever change. we don't have to swing everyone, just enough grass roots leaders that can all reach a few to make the change visible. then maybe we can take the time to fix things at the highest levels. i KNOW we can do it, otherwise i wouldn't be trying. i'm not trying to fix everything and have no illusions that anything has ever been different, but it was at least in the shadows then. i want it back there if it happens and stop affecting me and mine. you can't even have a civil conversation in some places now because of the mango mussolini.
  4. i will tell all of you one thing: i thought the hard part would be setting all this up, not getting a bank to take my money. nobody wants to take it because it isn't registered with the state. if i do that, i am subject to all sorts of rules i don't need hampered by. i found one, but damn, it took three days driving to every bank and credit union in the area.
  5. it wasn't a state of the union address, it was a trump rally. he doesn't know how to act any other way when he is in front of a microphone. i am also not surprised that someone calls his lies exaggerations as his fan boys are fanatical. too stupid to realize that by backing this idiot, they are selling out their country. all i hear when asked about why folks support him is "my 401k is doing pretty well". i hope it is worth it, selling out country for a retirement that wouldn't be needed had they not decimated the social security.
  6. sorry, this is me. you should see what i'm like when i'm pissed. that was more for amusement than anything else, although it has gotten me in trouble sometimes. my actual temper has gotten way worse but i've learned to control it way better so i am at a net positive over my 20 year old self. actually, i am a pretty decent guy and love almost everyone. i can love someone and hate their choices or actions. i welcome anyone who wants to come visit and jump with me anytime, but our dz is only open on weekends and not yet this year. i will absolutely discuss politics, rationally like an adult without judgement or fighting, just to see what you believe. so far, everyone i have done that with want the same end results, no matter the ideology or political views. there are some differing views on the dz and i have discussed them with everyone at one point or another i think and am still friends with them all. i'll even match ya a case of beer. enjoy the day all.
  7. i invite you to come on over and see what kind of pansey you think i am at any time there fred. i assure you it will not go well for you. i am not that hard to find, either. i live in wv, and we like guns here. that is the point of the 5.56 round, all 1000 of them. folks tend to think liberals don't want or like guns, but i am here to tell you that is not the case for a real liberal, not one of the insults people such as yourself tend to throw around. it is a fact that real liberals threw the british out, and conservatives wanted them to stay. enjoy your day and any time you want to come visit, let me know and i'll send the address to you.
  8. you forgot that without liberals, we would all be british colonists. the conservatives were loyalists. i can also send you a link for a thousand rounds of 5.56mm 55 gr ball for $180 for tula, $240 for winchester. i am a very proud liberal and, while not a prepper per se, i am always prepared for just about anything.
  9. reddit has a skydiving forum and i found two users from here over there. they post a lot more and it is also interesting but hasn't got the same "feel" as dz.com, but i have been here since '02 regardless of what the site says, so that is probably it, although the change in design is terrible compared to the old one in my opinion.
  10. now that sounds like a republican tactic right there, distracting from the issue with nonsense. notice that he spelled a word right but no mention to the 48 years of trying to get money for a museum that continually goes nowhere and ignores one who is asking to see what is going on. i don't mean to insult you like that, merely pointing out a shady tactic. nice of you to notice the correct spelling though.
  11. that was considered, but as a pac, i am not beholden to any candidate. i prefer to not have as many rules to follow, but will act with ethical behavior in all cases, as i am a hacker and run an i t security company, so i cannot afford not to. i have to look into it though, you have valid points and i have considered talking to folks who know about these things. i just got so fed up after the vote that i did all this in an hour and should have researched a little more. if you'd like to participate, go to reddit.com/r/togawv and join the group. when i get time, i will update the website togawv.org and CapitoHasGottaGo.com for action as well. i had to do something after hearing all the crap. the main thing that i am going to focus on is organizing a grass roots facebook campaign to counter all the lies donny boy puts up there, as well as engaging all our veterans and ensuring that they all know just how bad donny and the boys are for us based on the things he has said and done. he basically does all the work for us, we just need to engage with folks and make sure they know the truth behind what he says is usually the opposite of it. i think we have a good chance with the treasonous activities by our senate as long as we don't let anyone forget.
  12. i registered as a 527, one of the dark money pacs that doesn't require a lot of the restrictions that are put on others and has unlimited ability to donate, as long as it isn't coordinated with the candidate. that is what i was told anyway, i may need to fix it. finding a bank that takes the money is proving harder than i would have thought. it seems i was mistaken on the tax deductibility for others, but the 527 makes almost all of the expenditures tax deductible. thanx for pointing this out before i sounded too much like an idiot.
  13. have you SEEN how many pacs gave him money and still are? to think that this idiot funded himself is laughable. just like he isn't taking his salary or is donating it. that may be so, but the family is getting so much money from their appointed positions it isn't needed, but i have heard he isn't even doing that(read in an article that i haven't fact checked). hell rudy's son gets bank as a sports advisor for the white house. we can make a difference.
  14. i called my senator, shelly capito, and told her that her constituents wanted to hear the evidence and was assured that she wanted to hear the truth, but she voted no for witnesses. i became galvanized at that point, and when i got home, i registered the domain CapitoHasGottaGo.com, hosted a page, and registered a pac so that i can help put her out. i have been in contact with her opponent, richard ojeda, so that i can see if we are on the same page as far as issues. i have listened to his interviews and read his views so a confident that we agree, having both been combat engineers and airborne soldiers, although he was a major and i a staff sergeant. fitting if you ask me. as soon as i get the ban account opened on monday, i will get a paypal button up for tax deductible donations if one were so inclined.
  15. it needs to be said all in one passage, as fragments not only distract when reading, but tend to confuse or lose some meaning to folks. obviously my plan wouldn't work for experienced jumpers, not only due to the forward speed not helping a plf (it absolutely helps absorb speed as well as distance fallen as i have discovered to just before being drug a few hundred feet trying to unhook a canopy) but mainly because falling on the ground doesn't look as cool as sliding and they are responsible for themselves so there is no incentive for them. but for students, it would potentially solve a safety issue. at the very least, it would help instill safety into their habits a little better from the very beginning.
  16. i am referring to in general. i have seen an injury due to sliding that would not have happened had the jumper did a plf. i read in parachutist about the injuries on landings and how they are going up and some can be prevented with proper plfs. i have also read about how sliding is only a valid technique when trained how to properly do it, or else you can injure yourself badly. students these days aren't taught how to plf, either properly or in an ongoing basis. a plf is always preferable to a sprained or broken ankle when trying to run out a landing and step in a hole. they very much help in a high forward speed landing as i can attest to after choosing to plf instead of running out on a new dz. after stepping in a gopher hole on the way back to the hangar, i would say i chose well. i propose more and better plf training for students, even up to requiring proper plfs before each jump while a student, just like we used to do in airborne. a complete pre-jump routine with emergency procedures and forward and reverse plfs. it has been said how mff jumpers are better prepared for emergencies due to practicing all their eps for ten minutes each day before jumping and before each jump. it was also the only letter i have written to parachutist in 22 years.
  17. i said exactly what i meant, if someone is donating money to something, it should be in good faith. if it not producing anything, or is not in good faith, then it shouldn't happen. i almost ran for the office myself, as i have 22 years in the sport, a degree in leadership, and am a decently successful entrepreneur. too many side projects to give it the attention it deserves, volunteer or not. one place i would like to see some money going is a program that promotes a proper plf and stops folks from sliding in. but that is just me.
  18. i have not yet researched the issue but i would be willing to bet he has another valid point with that one. sounds fishy to me, at least from what i have read so far. since it is my money also, i will look into the issue, regardless of how much it is. my point was merely not to dismiss valid reasoning because of a writing style. it is hard sometimes though.
  19. i'm not interacting with anyone and have seen many misspellings. he has some good ideas though and they should not be negated by the spelling. not all of them, some are out there, but so are some of mine. he is spot on about the uspa contributions to the non-existent museum.
  20. doesn't matter in the slightest. it was mentioned above that one might be taken more seriously if one were to spell things correctly. this is the wrong attitude to have, no matter the reasons for the misspelling. some have taken to call me out for not capitalizing my comments on the internet, and i allow them the same chances to either correct their view or ignore me. as it is not my perception, it doesn't affect me, but neither does it make it right.
  21. not sure if this has been said, or if so, how many times so here goes: don't listen to anything here, ask your instructors. the above example is a perfect reason showing why. nobody knows you here, other than the video you posted. do what your instructors are telling you. when you get your license, then you make all of your own decisions and are responsible for yourself. even then, ask instructors if you have any questions. also, asking a rigger or an s&ta are also acceptable sources of information, as are other jumpers AT THAT TIME. i took a while to get my a, but since i am new as hell, i always ask about anything i am unsure of. as you hang around more, you'll figure out who to ask and eventually, you will have built a respectable repository of information. when you get there, don't stop considering other input, but give it the weight it deserves. you'll be fine.
  22. ignoring someone because of spelling is the height of elitism, or whatever the term is when one thinks they are better or their words mean more than another due to some perceived incompetence. it isn't productive and makes you look bad when you do it. i would go out of my way to ignore one who does this, not the one making the errors.
  23. they gave up that possibility when the civil war ended the era of states rights. the electoral system is what needs to go first. i have heard the argument that it stops a few cities from deciding the elections, but that is bullshit. at least the ACTUAL CITIZENS get to decide if they scrap it, the way it is now, it moves the decision to a few states and puts it in the hands of PEOPLE WHO AREN'T EVEN PICKED BY US!!. where is the outrage there? mostly nullified by good propaganda put out by the republicans. pro tip: if major corporations want something bad enough to give money to politicians, you probably don't want to let it happen if you are protecting the interests of the PEOPLE, as they should be.
  24. there ya go, get drunk as hell and go pass out without a coat in subzero temps.
