looked like they left them a little loose on purpose so it could make the turns. sweet how they made the whole thing out of wood and pvc pipe. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

in this case it is ok. ca recently saidn that when the technology was viable, then they would require it. if nj demonstrates viablility, ca will legislate it, as in the shell casing fiasco. so it is a vested interest of ca residents not to allow this to happen. i do not condone death threats, just explaining the connection. you appear to have missed it. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

IRS seizing refunds if your parents owed the SSA

not really. as i have said multiple times for years, "they can do whatever they want". you may have a court battle later, you may even win, but try stopping them when they want to do something. see what happens when you point a gun at the federal thugs when they bust down your door. it may be illegal, but you are not going to win without a fight. this is wrong, but just how it is. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
thermodynamics, science, and why I hate conspiracy theorists.

i don't usually provide citations, searching on the internet is too easy. but since you so graciously provided one, allow me to show you a bunch of them to support what i said. http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=1950+car+crashing+into+new+car&qpvt=1950+car+crashing+into+new+car&FORM=VDRE#view=detail&mid=D92B1E58E926D5383BE4D92B1E58E926D5383BE4 and the study linked to is generally worthless, due to one statement inside. "decreases in weight, unless offset by safety improvements..." or something like that. not only are newer materials better than the rolled steel of the '50s and '60s, (they use alloys now and carbon fiber, etc.), they are designed in such a way as to implement such things as crumple zones and multiple airbags, which more than make up for the lighter weight. the link i provided was a search of videos, i watched some of them. the older cars were almost always worse off than the newer ones. having said that, if a spider runs into an f150, the spider will lose every time. same thing when cars hit tractor trailers. fact of life, rik that needs to be assumed when driving. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -

wrong on the mass protecting anything. have you seen the films of crash test footage with old, huge cars colliding with small cars with better technology and materials? the small cars are winning. and there is not much to really think about, you either get performance or gas mileage, not both. if the auto industry would advertise and push gas mileage, they may actually have a shot at changing perceptions enough to make a difference. there are way too many people who just buy into advertising and buy what they're told. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -

the thing i hate about today's fuel economy in cars is the claims that above 30 mpg, it is called an achievement. i remember back in the '80's getting above 40 mpg regularly, and i also bought a car new in '88 that got over 50, in town. it was small and had a 3 cylinder suzuki engine, it was a chevy sprint. thing is, they could probably go back to that today if they would just focus on mileage and not so much on speed and power. with the improvement in the technology, they could easily achieve close to 60 on a regular basis without sacrificing safety. and without hybrids. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
that's what i thought. they did the smart thing and kept quiet about what they did, no small feat to be sure. and had they just put the chutes in the bags on the street and not hid behind the bushes, they may never have gotten caught. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

if you can run wine for what you need with windows, find a distro of linux you like and switch. when your son has a computer on the network and the internet, someone will take control of it and turn it into a bot, and they may also gain access to any computers on the same network. my son is 11 and plays roblox also, and we reload it every month due to infections. and that's with a patched os and antivirus. puppy is a full os, it just loads quick and runs on anything. the best thing about choosing a linux distro is they are almost all free, and you can usually run them live to try out before installing. the new fedora is a little bit of a switch from xp, but suse is close. most of them are close enough that you can figure them out pretty easily. and if you can upgrade the ram to at least 3 gb, it should be fast enough for win 7 home to play minecraft on. 2 gb won't do it, my son tried and it keeps glitching, so we got a laptop running for him. now, if you are concerned about paying for the license, i have heard of people who take pictures of a license key from computers in places like pawn shops to use them on other computers. it's illegal, though, so you shouldn't do it. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

that can't be true if a government website recommends that you have at least a week of food for emergency preparedness. but i could be wrong, i can't seem to find the website right now. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

i would recommend that you do not allow any box with xp to touch the internet at all. and everyone mentions ubuntu, but for really old systems, there are much better versions out there. puppy is one of my favorite small versions. it is built on slackware and has everything you need, best of all, it comes in a 156 mb download and burns to a cd. run it live for a while to get used to it, then you can install. i showed it to some clients, they were about 70, and they loved it straight from xp. you are also compatible with all of the office formats in the office-like suite, this is true for almost all versions. i also use a custom built usb version when i have to venture onto the dark side of the net, great for being safe and they run from ram, no installation needed. that's what these businesses are missing: they can upgrade to linux for free with existing hardware and save a ton of money to use for the few people who need the training. with the right distro, everything is close enough to xp to be second nature. i am actually working on a client/server system built on fedora to replace windows server for active directory and ms client/server systems. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

anyone looking for the answer to the question of what's wrong with the us, needs only to look here. that and the recent supreme court decision regarding political contributions makes it look as if the government is no longer trying to hide the fact that they are trying to remove "the people" from the equation. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

i need to correct you on #3. one vote does count. how do you think you get that majority? one vote at a time. if not for the first one, the second never comes, etc. so if you don't vote, it won't count. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

Well now... this could change some bad attitudes

right on. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
in anyone's mind it should be so simple. but when the us government is involved, common sense goes out the window. and also, in finland, if it is anything like germany when i was there from '89-'92, almost everyone had a passport due to being in europe and within driving distance of another country, so i am assuming most there would have them as well. not so in the us. less than 25% of the population has one here, so a federal id is not predominant, it is a hindrance. there are many things from europe we need to adopt, but this is not one of them. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

now i would like to see some number on that, i heard that it was 86 counts of voter fraud on the last (2012) election. not near the over 100% voter turnout. and the whole argument against the federal id for voting is that is not required anywhere except to vote. a driver's license or state id should be good enough. hell, i can't even get a federal id, even though i had to bring in like 7 different items to prove it was still me after 40 + years last time i renewed mine. it was supposed to be the new federal id, but it says on it "not for federal identification". _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

and, fortunately, we do not have to agree on anything. it looks as if i have been talking about money paid to politicians by corporations, not campaign funds alone. i did some searching on some numbers to satisfy my curiosity and did find that the oil and gas industry only contributed $154 million in 2012, and that was just the first site i found (http://www.opensecrets.org/lobby/indusclient.php?id=E01). and that article is making some pretty good accusations, however, i see no proof of anything there, only accusations and questions. and the 4.4 billion they were talking about was for all unions for a six year period, averages to around 730 million a year, and this is not a total contribution. i found results for one industry, 158 companies. granted this is not all of the data, and not a scientific study, but it's close enough for an internet forum. i know for a fact that all of the union dues are not used for politics, so using just those numbers i have found satisfies me that corporations give more money to government than unions. how much more, who knows? i have projects going and do not have time to think any more about it. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes
-
now that you agree with that, maybe you can also agree that since there are so many more corporations than unions that it only follows that more money comes from corporations. you can obtain the real numbers, but you would have to gather all the records of all campaign donations, total them, and track them all back to the donor. and i am talking all, nra, madd, etc. they all come from somewhere, some corporations donate through lobbyists like these (nra, etc.) to disguise them. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes
-
that's why i try not to provide numbers to anyone for anything. you can get more numbers from somewhere else to refute the other numbers. it's too easy to manipulate them. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

he doesn't need sources for that, it's a given. there are far more corporations than unions nationally. so it just follows they outspend unions. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

i used to do that until i got fed up with the extent of the corruption here. then i became an activist, and have actually started to make a (however small) difference. it is frustrating, but the more voices that are heard, the more things are likely to change. i used to be registered as an independent until i found out that they were a party, then i went to a democrat. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

Japan death penalty has same problems as US

i was reading an article on cops in tokyo, i think, a couple of months ago talking about the success rate of solving crimes being so high. turns out they were taking the easy cases and marking the rest of them natural causes or something. can't remember where i was reading it, but it was eye opening. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes -
i doubt they would get barred from the hall, they don't do that in wv for a popped piss test, they just kick you off that job. and if he's an iron worker jumping from the top, it was almost over for him anyway, so go out with a bang. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes

i can. it amounts to the same thing as trying to eliminate the problem of people dying from ant bites by dumping poison over the whole countryside and piece of grass, when there are about 30 deaths from ant bites annually. it said there were 86 cases of voter fraud in one election, or .00004%. and skip to the middle of the video, it gets really good halfway through. a driver's license or valid state id should be enough, it doesn't mention why she didn't have a state id, though. i sent this to one of my die-hard tea party friends on facebook; it was enough to get a phone call and not a lengthy response if that tells you anything. _________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes
