i dumped it two years ago but made a fake one to buy gear with. got a rig for $500 so far, when i get both pilot chutes, both dbags, and risers i am gonna delete that one. the stupid is strong on facebook. the only chance we have this year is to make sure we get voters to the polls and hope they aren't fooled by the propaganda. like either of those will happen though.

Please make all forum text black

i second this. gray has no place on a white page on a website for readability. -
https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/?fbclid=IwAR1n7AL4HmKvKsROIw2k1wl7ma0Gv1uf1lYG_FDS_85KUn5_cjouHhVou7g fixed it for ya. nobody should ever be exposed to facebook, especially for information.

and had bush sr. (or was it reagan) merely acknowledged bin laden he wouldn't have turned against us, unless i have that wrong. if so, please correct.

when i went to it it said page not found 404. may be the start of some dos attacks if the spammers got a foot hold in the website.

no, but iran has been inside our grid for years, along with a few other nations. not to mention the oil and gas industry, and most of the financial sector. we opened a can of whoop ass alright, we just are not ready to deal with the spillover.

after leaving the kurds and unleashing the prisoners they were guarding right back into their back yard, what did you think would happen? this idiot is a traitor and needs removed before he kills us all. his "negotiations" went well with north korea, and his china policy is working great also. his handler, i mean putin, has a great grasp on the situation and i fear we are all in for it. his only loyalty is to himself and his bank account and it shows to the rest of the world as well.

i just hope that everyone didn't NEED electricity next week.

it depends. if you are commenting on your experiences that are still relevant, then no, don't stop spreading that knowledge around as it is still relevant. most of your knowledge will be like that, as 2012 is only 8 years ago, and you are married to a current instructor, so you have access to current training methods and can also pass that knowledge around. so to answer the original question, no, you shouldn't stfu, your knowledge is valuable and should be shared.

i would not be a bit surprised to find out that he orchestrated the protest as a distraction from the impeachment.

Skydive pilot building a self launching drone here
sfzombie13 replied to SkydivePilot69's topic in Introductions and Greets
let us know for sure when testing starts and i may travel a bit to take part in a test of that death-trap looking machine. not the first one, but second for sure. hell, if i had one of these, i think i would file a notam for the huge field next to my house. -
i never once noticed it until the late '90s and even word then didn't change the doubles to singles like they do now. i am curious to what the reason for the change is, as typespace isn't all that valuable any longer and wasn't when the changes were happening. articles have nearly unlimited room now.

as i said, i am not familiar with the internal workings of them, but what about a high speed mal with an initial velocity closer to 60-80 mph? i have seen some videos that look pretty fast, but am not sure what the speed would be. if it started out faster, would it ever disarm in the first place? with an 80 mph mal, it cuts it a hell of a lot closer. of course, there is a very good reason they are only backup devices, this may just be one more. something to look at anyway.

sounds like not much time left to fire if one were to cutaway low, like around 1200 to 1000'. but i am unfamiliar with the operation of any of them, so it may be similar. it just seems that waiting four seconds to decide to fire after a low cutaway would not get a reserve out in time. like maybe it would need something to say that if one were under 1000' to only wait two seconds to fire or something.

i disagree. newspapers have been around for centuries but the extra space started disappearing when ms word took it out several years (not sure exactly when) ago. newspapers just mostly use word, as does most of the rest of the world.

i was fine with plane rides until larry's crash in hawaii this year that killed 11. when i got to the dz, they were all watching the 182 that had just taken off and i heard them talking about him. i went over and asked how he was doing these days and found out about the crash. then they told me about the takeoff and how the new jump pilot almost drug the tail of the plane in the grass and just about didn't clear the trees at the end of the runway. had i seen that i probably wouldn't have jumped that day but i went up on the load after they took the pilot for a refresher flight. i have been jumping out of anything that flies for 22 years, civilian and military, and have never much liked planes, but was alright in them. after this one though, i was almost scared to death. it should be better after the season starts next year, especially now that i am licensed finally, or at least i hope it gets better.

it may not be probable cause to dismantle the car, but they will damned sure bring the dogs out and handcuff you while they run them through looking for something. as for the process, we haven't had a fair one in decades.

it is and always has been. the only thing that has really changed since the inception of the nation is the fact they stopped trying to hide it. those in charge have had no real notion of caring for much of anything except power and re-election. maybe some of the ones in the beginning, and the odd congressman now and then, but for the most part congress has been bought and paid for for well over a century. i wrote a paper in college regarding when the law started being ignored and the first presidential act i could find was when lincoln suspended the writ of habeas corpus. seeing as how the constitution was nothing more than an elaborate compromise and had it not been for hamilton (if i recall correctly), there would have been no bill of rights. while it is nice to think of how corrupt our system has gotten, it is just more visible now and has been corrupt from the start. it will not get any better without some serious reform, and that will never happen.

for an audible, you cannot go wrong with this. cost about $100 depending on exchange rate, has 20 altitudes and 9 tones you can set, is small, and has the best customer service i have ever seen. i prefer the alti-2 analog for a visual, as it is more familiar to me and i don't trust electronic devices as much, so prefer to have one analog.

trust me when i say that the loss of the space slows me down. i talked to a friend this week and he said the same thing. the extra space signals the end of a sentence without the need for noticing capitalization, a technique used for speed reading, or at least the technique i was taught. i write a lot, and most of it is very formal, so when i am amusing myself on the internet, informally, i use no capitalization at all, ever. i am a touch ocd regarding punctuation and grammar, however, so refuse to not use it correctly, even in informal writing. hell, i even reply with, "you're welcome" in a text when i get a ty. if i ever feel the need to abbreviate, i drop vowels, like i learned in the army. another thing regarding the extra space: it also helps when there are no capitals to signal the start to the sentence.

Skydiving videos are so expensive at Perris...
sfzombie13 replied to David Wang's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
the rule says that you have to jump with an appropriate rated instructor after 30 days. it doesn't say you have to repeat the level you did, but that would be the preferred way to see if you are still at that level, as you wouldn't advance to the next level until demonstrating proficiency in the current one. staying current assumes you are still proficient. that is why it is 30 days for students, 60 days for an a license, 90 for a b, and 180 for c and d licenses. the more experience you have, the longer you can go before "forgetting" things. skydiving is a very perishable skill. -
AFF students general performance
sfzombie13 replied to Duvain's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
aff means you can save your life. a license means you are safe enough to jump with others. that's the way i heard it.
