I'm only willing to eat them when I'm paying $300 for a meal at Charlie Trotters. Otherwise the same item is mere "trash food" Edited to add: I just checked out their website pics. Holy schnykes! I need to visit the Golden West more often, it's babalicious. Actually I'm in Albuquerque/Sandia later this week, if they have a testi-fest count me in Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!

Kinda reminds me of my day job, even my love life in times past. What will you Brits think up next? From the Beeb: New Champion for Bog Snorkellers A firefighter from Bristol has won one of the UK's strangest sporting events in mid Wales. Ian Hawkes, originally from Llandrindod Wells, triumphed in the world bog snorkelling championships in Llanwrtyd Wells in Powys on Monday. He took over from reigning champion Philip John, who had won for the previous three years. Competitors must swim two lengths of the 60-yard Waen Rhydd peat bog without using conventional swimming strokes. The contest began after a pub conversation when a local charity was searching for fundraising ideas. This year's contest is the 20th annual event, and organisers dug a second trench in expectation of a record number of competitors. After beating about 130 entrants, Mr Hawkes said that the reigning champion's absence helped him take the title. "The lad who has been winning it for the last few years - he is a real flier - he wasn't here this year," he said. "I think this is about my fifth time - I have got to be good at something - I was useless on my GCSEs, never went to uni, but I am champion of the bog snorkelling." He said conditions had been tough, but mostly for those watching. "I felt sorry for the spectators - they must have been freezing - it chucked it down for most of the day." Speaking before the race, organiser Gordon Green said the event appeared to be "more popular than ever". "We've dug two channels for the first time this year to cope with the amount of entrants and we're expecting people from around to take part." Man vs horse In previous years competitors from South Africa, Zambia, Australia and New Zealand have braved the muddy bog. Bog snorkelling is not the only bizarre annual tradition in the small town of Llanwrtyd Wells. In June last year, runner Huw Lobb became the first man to win the Man versus Horse race around the town, which is now in its 25th year. A record 500 runners and more than 40 horses and riders compete over the 22-mile course, which takes competitors across farm tracks, footpaths, open moor land and tarmac. I dunno, the “easy marks” are played all too often. Reading between the lines I detect the hidden presence of some other man who is probably the Mr. A-hole type. She would tell him, “Speedracer wants to marry me, how do you feel about that?” Then things get whacky. I would tread carefully on any shortcuts to the alter. Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!

A pertinent scenario has played out for me at least twice. And may God Bless the Zebra Lounge in Chicago. As I seem to recall each instance culminated in me running down fire escapes with my pants slung over a shoulder in emergency fashion. Get it while it’s hot but good luck, you’re probably gonna need it and you might get shot. Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!

Yes you should! This is one of those rare crossroads in life where you get to reinvent yourself before you get tied down. You can always return to Texas and the knowledge you acquire even if you “fail” in Arizona or where ever your path happens to lead will serve you well the rest of your life. Ditch the guy and pounce on this opportunity! And don't be afraid to fail, failure is the key to success if you learn from what it teaches you. Good luck. Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!

I'm an intellectual property and technology attorney who is shareholder in a young Chicago- and Geneva- based firm which represents big clients like “Switzerland” in connection with their scientific and engineering endeavors - although it’s very possible I will be making an announcement about my status here shortly On the side I build software and cognitive science stuff that I’m not permitted to discuss and that doesn’t pay very well day to day but I’m hoping for an equity pop. I also teach, author white papers and consult abroad for even less money but this affords excellent opportunities to drink beer with members of the Cool People’s Club and supposedly it justifies my various graduate degrees to some extent although I’m not convinced of this. I’ve also been building a non-profit organization for inner-city children that hopefully will replace the plastic pails they drum on with steel drums and opportunities to study the black diaspora and earn money for trade school or college. As youngin’s growing up in Bu$%fudge Michigan where the toilet water would freeze over by morning we alternated mouthfuls of Kellogg’s from Battle Crick with sips of whole moo juice poured fresh from the collection pail. Spoonfuls of blackstrap molasses or fresh maple syrup from the neighborhood tree patch completed the routine. Sometime since I got converted to skimmed moo from a plastic container, but I still eat my oatmeal with molasses or maple on top and I go with unpasteurized whole moo when I’m traveling Europe. Soy is fine, too, it’s what I put in my coffee. So, "it depends." Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!

How could you imagine that, I thought that Spaniards like you tended to view President Bush as a monkey and not as a goat? So it's more plausible that Lippy was referring to your parents and not the President. Your bitterness tends to undermine your argumentation guy. Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!

If the genders in this and similar cases had been reversed the teacher would be 'radioactive' and ruined for life. But here the perp will likely become a celebrity and millionairess eventually. Please somebody, explain concisely how this double standard can be deemed acceptable by western civilization. A claim 'because the economy depends on pitching sex' is too simplistic as it tends to devalue the economic impact of organized morality and religion. Do healthy fathers wish to fulfill their fantasies at the expense of their sons, is that it?! Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!

My home dropzone, Skydive Chicago, _has_ a Pitts biplane plus balloons, choppers, tailgates, etc. throughout our season. Check out this one: Simulation, 3d edition (2002) by Sheldon M. Ross. You can get through Amazon for about $80; the author is professor of industrial engineering and operations research at Berkeley. It's what I used when I began learning how to model neutron chain reactions, complex networks, weather and financial trading. Good thing your mathematical background is strong, you'll need it Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!

I have an obligatory conference for my profession that coincides with WFFC, and I'm placing vocation ahead of avocation in the queue at this point in my life. Summerfest, which is up the road just a hitch, has great vibes and an emphasis on safety. Consensus in my own private universe is that Summerfest better captures the old Convention spirit of the Nelson brothers than the modern WFFC does and that's what I prefer. What Amazon said, except for the part about beer Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!

I thought that an article, below, from today’s Wall Street Journal would inform some of you, especially those who do not reside in the U.S. Plus it’s brief and therefore easy to type U.S. Courts See Tort Trials Fall, Study Says WASHINGTON – Product liability, medical malpractice and other tort trials concluded in U.S. federal courts fell by nearly 80% from 1985 to 2003, according to a new Justice Department study. The expense of and complexity of cases and growth of alternative dispute-resolution programs contributed to the decline of completed trials, the Justice Department’s Bureau of Justice Statistics said. The study found tort trials concluded in U.S. district courts declined from 3,600 trials in 1985 to fewer than 800 trials in 2003. About 2% of all tort cases are concluded at trial, the study found. The median or typical damage award was $201,000 for plaintiffs who won in tort trials concluded in 2002 and 2003, the study found. Typical awards were highest in medical malpractice trials, at $600, 000, and product-liability trials, $350,000. Common federal tort trials include motor-vehicle accident, 20%; product liability, 13%; marine, 10%; and medical malpractice, 10%. Tort cases involve plaintiffs claiming injury, loss or damage resulting from a defendant’s negligent or intentional acts. Plaintiffs prevailed in 48% of the tort cases completed by trial in 2002-2003. They were less likely to prevail in medical malpratice trials, where plaintiffs won 37% of the time, or in product liability, where they won 34% of the time. Tent City, Arizona - should prison really be this tough?

No they aren’t. But for the involvement of contemporary zealous lawyers we would continue to see the Lena Bakers of our country being given the electric chair by lay people in order to “send a message.” MAID GETS PARDON 60 YEARS AFTER EXECUTION August 16, 2005 ALBANY, GEORGIA -- The only woman ever executed in Georgia's electric chair is being granted a posthumous pardon, 60 years after the black maid was put to death for killing a white man she claimed held her in slavery and threatened her life. The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles decided to pardon Lena Baker and plans to present a proclamation to her descendants at its Aug. 30 meeting in Atlanta, board spokeswoman Scheree Lipscomb said Monday. The board did not find Baker innocent of the crime. It instead found the decision to deny her clemency in 1945 "was a grievous error, as this case called out for mercy," Lipscomb said. Baker was sentenced to die after a one-day trial before an all-white, all-male jury. "I believe she's somewhere around God's throne and can look down and smile," said Baker's grandnephew, Roosevelt Curry, who has led the family's effort to clear her name. During her trial, Baker testified that E.B. Knight, a man she had been hired to care for, held her in a grist mill and threatened to shoot her if she tried to leave. Baker said she grabbed his gun and shot him when he raised a metal bar to strike her.
