  4. Excellent news! Although you won’t believe this right now you just took a major step in your life. You haven't failed yet so you need to press on, fail, and learn. But keep trying to prevail according to your definition of success and do not give up no matter what. You are way ahead of your peers who settle and, assuming you pay attention to your health, you will get _everything_ you want in life and you’ll actually get to enjoy it and be truly happy, I’m certain and you will be too. Cheers. Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!
  5. My esteemed colleague, Ted Kennedy, took the photo. The Tedmeister possesses a certain knack for framing others and his focus is steady, once he's had a few belts. I recall we patronized the Dubliner in Georgetown after the photoshoot and the capitol police barely let us out in time to make roll call the next morning. Vicky was non-plussed with us, to put it mildly. Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!

  8. I favor building new plants provided they will be funded 100% by the consumers of their power. If either my rates or my taxes would escalate to pay for new construction in districts where I’m not drawing, or if I am convinced a project is mostly pork, then I’ll actively campaign and contribute money against. The technology can be safe, and I don’t suffer from NIMBY syndrome - I grew up near Big Rock (Charlevoix), Pallisades (South Haven) and D.C. Cooke (Bridgman), where coincidently my brother-in-law is a nuclear technician. Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!

  10. I'll volunteer a classic lawyerly response: it depends. I don't know whether plaintiff's lawyer has effected service of process on each of the defendants yet, i.e., basically given them an official copy of the complaint together with a summons from the court directing them to appear - plaintiffs are not obligated to do this anytime soon - and that's what is most likely to trigger the clock for defendants to respond. Even if defendants have been served, the type of defendant and the type of service will control their respective timeframes for responding. Moreover, a group of defendants may choose a single attorney or firm to represent their respective interests or each defendant may retain its own counsel and proceed independently. Further, each individual defendant may choose to respond in one or more of several ways. It may claim the federal district court in Arizona lacks jurisdiction over the case. It may claim the complaint on its face is legally unsustainable and therefore it should be tossed out. It may answer the complaint by responding to plaintiff's allegations. It may approach the plaintiff with an offer to settle part or all of the case. It may move for more time. It may default. All the above factors, and more, could influence the schedule for things unfolding. Don't hold your breath until the judge sets what's called a briefing schedule, when events should become more predictable. .02 Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!
  11. Are there surviving Aryans who would make such claims? There are millions of dispossessed Christian Armenians and they want their lands back no less than Muslim Palestinians do. I presume that you wouldn't deliberately misinform people so I'll remind you that the Armenian Genocide occurred fewer than 100 years ago, not 2500 years ago as with your example of the Aryans and present-day Iran. The Armenians can trace a contiguous chain-of-title to their ancestral lands back to their forebearers, the Erebuni, for whom the historical record now discloses substantial artifacts. In addition, it was the Muslim Ottoman Empire which caused this result to obtain, not the British Empire or her American colony. Darius, in this and other threads I've asked you a simple question and you either missed seeing it or you purposely evaded it. So I 'll give you another opportunity. Will you apply the same logic to the issue of restoring occupied Christian Armenian lands that you have applied in respect of Muslim Palestine? Yes or no. Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!
  12. I take it, Darius, that you fully support Muslim Iran and Turkey returning the lands they now occupy but that had belonged to the Christian Armenians for thousands of years until relatively recently. Are you willing to sign a petition to the Iranian and Turkish governments to that effect and help end the occupation? Yes or no. Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!
  13. I've never met the chap and I despise thieves no less than you do. I'm also trusting at the dropzone, where I leave my gear unattended and sometimes permit people who I only by a moniker or feature such as blue hair borrow gear based on their association with a person with whom I am familiar and whose judgment I trust. But we have a friend who is chairwoman of Light the Darkness, an organization which helps the mentally ill and their families, and she introduced me to a klepto once who had received treatment and was rehabilitated. Those facts had a ring of similarity with the ones described here and so I contributed the information. That is all. Bluto
  14. Caveat: I'm neither a medical doctor nor do I play one on TV. Kleptomania Kleptomania involves a failure to resist impulses to steal items that are not needed or sought for personal use or monetary value. Kleptomania should be distinguished from shoplifting, in which the action is usually well-planned and motivated by need or monetary gain. Some clinicians view kleptomania as part of the obsessive-compulsive spectrum of disorders, reasoning that many individuals experience the impulse to steal as an alien, unwanted intrusion into their mental state. Other evidence suggests that kleptomania may be related to, or a variant of, mood disorders, such as depression. The main diagnostic features are: *The person repeatedly yields to the impulse to steal objects that are needed neither for personal use nor for their monetary worth. *Just before the theft, the patient experiences increasing tension. *At the time of theft, the patient feels gratification, pleasure or relief. *These thefts are committed neither out of anger or revenge nor in response to delusions or hallucinations. *The thefts are not better explained by Antisocial Personality Disorder, Conduct Disorder or a Manic Episode. Associated Features: Depressed or Guilty (concerning the thefts) Major Depressive Disorder Anxiety. Differential Diagnosis: Some disorders have similar or even the same symptoms. The clinician, therefore, in his/her diagnostic attempt, has to differentiate against the following disorders which need to be ruled out to establish a precise diagnosis. An Ordinary Criminal Act. Bipolar Mood Disorder. Conduct Disorder. Antisocial Personality Disorder. Manic Episode in response to Delusions or Dementia. Cause: Most person's with this disorder seem to be women; their average age is about 35 and the duration of illness is roughly 16 years. Some individuals report the onset of kleptomania as early as age five. While we do not know the causes of kleptomania, there is indirect evidence linking it with abnormalities in the brain chemical serotonin. Stressors such as major losses may also precipitate kleptomanic behavior. Treatment: Treatment will include counseling and psychotherapeutic approaches and in some cases combined with drug therapy. Counseling and Psychotherapy: A variety of psychotherapies have been used to treat this disorder, but it is not clear which one is best. Family therapy may also be important, since this disorder can be very disruptive to families. Pharmacotherapy: Prozac, an antidepressant that boosts levels of serotonin, has been found useful in some cases of kleptomania. Source: http://www.psychnet-uk.com/dsm_iv/kleptomania.htm

  17. And if you choose to follow this advice be sure and read up on FRCP Rule 11 sanctions beforehand (I recall the last person to go up against me in federal court pro se in a Lanham Act case. Seems he lost his house: Lennox Industries v. Gabriel, 00 C 0365 N.D. Ill.) Bluto
  18. Done. Hopefully my e-mail addresses your concern. Bluto
  19. It's a civil action, no jail time _but_ the Lanham Act does provide for trebling of damages and the complaint alleges sufficient grounds for this. I have a copy of the complaint, however, the file size exceeds the maximum permitted for upload. I'll be happy to post case documents here or perhaps to another location. Greenies? Bluto
  20. ... the only way Europeans will visit the cosmos is by purchasing a ticket via American, "Europe" is literally generation(s) behind – THE ISRAELIS - more so in respect of the U.S., you mere posers: SINGAPORE SAYS IN FINAL NEGOTIATIONS WITH BOEING 09.06.2005, 09:28 AM SINGAPORE (AFX) - Singapore is in the final stages of negotiations with Boeing Co for its new generation of fighters, indicating the US-made F-15 has won over the French-built Rafale, the defense ministry (MINDEF) said. It said in a statement it is 'now in the process of seeking final clarifications and contract negotiation with Boeing' for the contract, estimated in the industry to be worth about 1 bln usd. The Rafale and F-15 were earlier shortlisted for the deal after the Eurofighter Typhoon was knocked out. The new fighter will replace a squadron of aging A4SU Super Skyhawks. MINDEF spokesmen declined to say outright that the F-15 had finally won, sticking to its statement that 'in response to media queries on the status' of the new fighter program, 'MINDEF is now in the process of seeking final clarifications and contract negotiation with Boeing.' Robert Karniol, Asia-Pacfic editor of Jane's Defence Weekly, said he is 'a bit surprised' by the announcement. 'It's an extraordinarily complicated selection process,' the Bangkok-based Karniol told Agence France-Presse. He said the Rafale would have had 'longer legs' as the new-generation aircraft for Singapore. 'I don't see the F-15 twenty years from now being particularly effective in that environment,' he said. 'The Singaporean procurement will be done in at least two phases and this decision is part one ... there is a part two to follow.' 'Either they will buy some more F-15s or another type of aircraft and my guess is if they select the F-15 now, they would go for another aircraft in phase two.' The ministry statement comes two weeks after the US defense department notified the US Congress of the possible sale to Singapore of weapons, logistics and training as part of a proposed F-15 fighter deal. The weapons include advanced supersonic air-to-air missiles and satellite-guided bombs. The new fighters will replace a squadron of Singapore's aging A4SU Super Skyhawk fighter jets. 'This proposed sale includes weapons and logistics for the F-15 aircraft,' the defense security and cooperation agency said in a statement. The defense agency said the proposed sale was worth 741 mln usd if all options are exercised. The weapons include 200 AIM 120C advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles (AMRAAM); 50 joint direct attack munitions (JDAMs) with 500-pound warheads; 30 AGM 154A-1 joint standoff weapons with 500-pound warheads; 30 AGM 154C joint standoff weapons; and 200 AIM 9X Sidewinder missiles. Last April Singapore dropped the Eurofighter Typhoon from its shortlist, leaving the Rafale and F-15 in a final duel. Defence spending for the current financial year of 9.26 bln sgd accounts for 31.2 pct of the national budget. France, which hosts a squadron of Singaporean Skyhawks at a training facility, has been lobbying strongly for the Rafale but Singapore is a close American ally. French Defense Minister Michele Alliot-Marie visited Singapore earlier this year to urge the republic to pick the Rafale and President Jacques Chirac had pushed the plane during a visit to Singapore last October. The Rafale is a multi-role combat aircraft, capable of performing a wide range of missions day or night in all-weather conditions. For its part Boeing has pointed to the F-15 Eagle's performance in actual combat as one of its main advantages. In addition to the Skyhawks to be replaced by the new-generation fighter, Singapore currently operates F-16 Fighting Falcons and F-5 Tigers. rc/bh/sm/swp Source: http://www.forbes.com/markets/feeds/afx/2005/09/06/afx2207334.html
