the thoughts you are having now is EXACTLY why i opted to buy used initially. nope, it didn't fit PERECT. NOPE. I didn't have that brand spanking new main that matched. I didn't have a cypres either. BUT I DID have a container that fit, was safe and allowed me to downsize a size or two safely. When I ended up with my 136 I have now, I sold that container to someone in the same position i had been in and just bought the new container to fit what i'd be using for the long term. Think safe, not size.

i could say a lot of things here, but my main concern is considering buying either of these canopies without a demo (those types of canopies several jumps to feel them out)- they're both HP ellipticals which is a different beast than the sabre. I'm a conservative pilot. Just seems liek switching both planforms and size or TWO sizes at once is asking for trouble... i don't like people getting hurt. I don't know you, but just hope that at least a demo is considered before a purchase.... and lots of thought. also check out billvon's list of canopy goals which is frequently posted before downsizing.... __

I consider myself well trained. - live a relatively non-materialistic lifestyle (money isn't good for much except jumps and beer!) i have no money after jumps and beer. my tent is larger than my apartment. - consider themselves good looking (the guys) and have skydiving SOs (the gals) that are good looking I'm a chick, but i've got a nice looking skydiving SO. - can easily pack in 10 minutes or less (mostly, it appears, because their canopy is about the size of a trashbag) Kahn can pack my chute in less than 10 minutes while i attend to important things like lunch and painting my toenails. __

it was new to him and hardly used. the suit maybe had 10 jumps on it. the alti was scratchless. the cypres was 2 years old with maybe 50 jumps on it. __

hmm i think angela turned more points on that jump than box's 4way average. __

halloween weekend is kinda special. i imagine i'll be on the west coast of FL, it's kinda a one year anniversary weekend. whatever. i can drive up and meet lisa anytime if it doesn't work out... __

1 awesome party sat night:3:1 planned to do lots of jumps this weekend. my gear had other plans. had a chop on jump #3 on sat afternoon- streamering ball of crap with line twists. had to deal with that, getting my stuff back and then of course was rigless for the rest of the day. took some time to calm down, janine let me borrow her rig to get back in teh air, but clouds rolled in and our 5way scratched. good thing too, that load pretty much all came down with the plane. storms rolled in and it was oh-beer-thirty. bought my case and drank it too. partied a bit too much last night and spent teh morning discussing mimosas and bloody marys with some other jumpers. made the nasty long drive home, repacked gear in tow. thanks jodi for getting it back together for me by the morning! __

yeah, apparently RW isn't all about cutaways and funnelled exits,....

yeah i was pretty excited to pull that nice little handle and have fabric, not soemthing like confetti. __

oct 4-5 is just about the ONLY weekend that doesn't work for me, gotta go to a wedding in NYC area. i'll be freezing my cheese off in sub-60 degree temperatures. brrrr! __

So the weekend looked beautiful. I was all psyched to camp out at the DZ and make a kajillion jumps. It'd been a financially crappy week with car things. Did 2 sweet jumps- 2 way drill dive with galen then a nice 8 way. met up with kramer and and angela and we took angela and galen up on a 4 way. the exit bombed and there were some fall rate issues, oh well, things happen. I watched angela and galen track (at 5K), tracked and dumped at about 3.5. Apparently my jedei was NOT in the mood to play. it kinda streamered, bounced around, and there were about 12 twists in the lines. It wasn't spinning violently, but the twists weren't going anywhere either when i tried kicking. loaded at 1.5, i opted to not play with it either! FIrst cutaway, saved both soft handles, no RSL, was in the saddle flying the reserve with handles stowed between 1200 and 1500 ish. My little PD 126 landed me nicely in the peas right near my freebag. my main landed hooked in a tree and was easily recovered. Thank You Nightjumper for a great reserve opening, and Kramer for spotting so my stuff landed right on the DZ! Beer was bought and drank quickly.
