sounds like any DZ in FL would work for ya. it's most certainly warmer than Minnesota, i'm not really sure that I've SEEN a 182 since moving here (although they are doing 100 ways from them in Jan @ ZHills), and beer, well... that's a given. we got palm trees too.

0:0:0 took a trip up to north jersey/NYC this weekend for my old college roommate's wedding. tastefully enough she married a mutual friend as well. gorgeous wedding, totally formal, freee anything-at-all open bars and table service, jazz, filet mignon, they really outdid themselves. i cried like a baby at the ceremony. how embarassing. met up with another friend that i hadn't seen in a while this afternoon, i kept trying to get her to let me sell her engagement ring to buy a few rigs/tunnel time. __

It's funny to me that I've realized the more experience I get in this sport, the less I realize I know. Thoght I knew it all at 100 jumps. At 600+, I know nothing. I find the shut up and listen tactic to be highly effective. There's stuff to be learned everywhere. __

you laugh. I was visiting an unnamed DZ and a guy had a cypres fire. His answer to the S&TA was that it was too cold to pull. AYE! and make sure they aren't the powdered ones. __

i had a pretty icky mud landing this past weekend. the only part of my container really affected were the leg straps and main pack tray/spandex. I filled up my sink at home and had the legstraps in the sink and scrubbed them pretty good, everythign came out with the aid of an old toothbrush. this worked for the lower pack tray as well. my reserve compartment never saw a drop of water. __

there are probably things that regardless of having all his skydiving gear, he will still need. Gift certificates for repacks, dytter batteries/cypres batteries, face lenses if he has an full face helmet.. all those things add up. perhaps stuff for travel like a nice gear bag, helmet bag... if yo camp at the DZ a lot my BF got a portable grill so we can grill our dinners there... __

i used to jump at CK until I moved to FL. you'll go to full alti, cloud permitting of course. They don't wimp out due to a little 40 below or anything.
