from orlando you have 4 options taht are within an hour. ZHills (west), Deland (east), Sebastian (southeast), or lake wales (south). All are within an hour drive. All have turbines of some sort. Keep in mind august and september are off season for FL dzs. it's REALLY hot and obnoxiously humid. double check DZ hours before goign out to them, since they may be closed a day or so during the week. __

not in Philly. Cross Keys though. 30 mins out of the city and fabulous. season opener (aka a RAUCOUS event) is april 25-27. i know there are philly-ites and cross keys jumpers on here. __

JEss!!!! I had a similar incident back in october. THe truck I hit was barely marked at all. My front end crumpled. radiator trashed, etc etc. I swore it was totaled. It ended up being close, but when nickled and dimed out, it wasn't totaled. Did you have airbags fire? Airbags often end up being the most expensive thing to fix. Not to mention the terrible smell they leave, uck. other than airbags, frame damage is yoru worst enemy. Good luck! Stacy

I drop it off, walk over to the desk and they give me a receipt. They tell me what an acceptable (ie no questions asked for taxes) value is, and it's signed, dated, stamped. I dunno, that's how they do it here.

I've sold some stuff on there as well. Old musical instruments, etc etc. I've made anice chunk of change on there that funded a tunnel trip or two and helped out when i was in a pinch. Stuff I know won't sell on there I just take to salvation army or good will and take the tax write off. __

I remember having to buy shoes one size bigger so I could fit my layered socks in them. ugh. what an atrocity. the pictures from that era shall NEVER resurface. __

3:1:0 about 3 gallons of paint painted on galen's walls in an orderly fashion. Got to the Hills Saturday morning EARLY (I'm afraid the DZ shall explode if i show up before noon too frequently) to sit and look at fog for 2 hours. Got one piddly jump in with HeatherB before I had to leave since things were a bit backed up due to the weather delay and all the big way folks arriving... Oh well. 1 is better than none. I got to play with my new canopy, even land it downwind since the first people out ignored the tetrahedran..... __

as much as i hate to promote *fake scuba* types of things..... the BOB thing looks well... kinda funny. All I see in my mind are people pommelling into precious reefs... ugh!!! For a better and more *scuba-like* thing maybe try SNUBA. You breathe off a regulator, but the tanks are above surface on a raft. Kinda like scuba diving on a leash so you can't go too deep, etc etc. Saw it in Key West. Of course, I'd HIGHLY recommend a discover scuba course to do teh real thing... discover scuba isn't cerification, it's a half day pool class and a dive or two (shallow- up to 35-40 feet) with an instructor very close by. I bought my sister the discover scuba thing for her birthday and she loved it. it's not too expensive. __

Actually Kodak makes several different underwater cameras. The one I used was OK to 40 feet underwater for around 15$. Pics all turned out great. Just read the labels before you buy one.

i use coppertone sport and a special one for my face. I hate greasy sunscreeen on my face. yuck.

as for underwater cameras- I got the kodak sport one that is usable underwater for when i took myu sister scuba diving. The pictures turned out great. THe catch is DO NOT take them to a one hour walgreens type processing place. Take underwater photos to a decent lab, let them know they are underwater, and they can develop them specially. you'll get more color, less blue. tanning once or twice won't give yo enough of a base tan to help. I burn easily, have lived in South Florida for 2 years and STILL burn. Tanning is just bad all around. __
