  2. CHuckie can party hard, but for short amounts of time. He needs to learn party-time-management skills. I've dubbed him WussyChimpOne. __
  3. 35%. It must have been band camp. __
  4. because galen's house broke. at least a pipe or something. i'm not good at plumbing, but i've done a good job of holding ladders and turning water off and on! To make up for it, I booked 15 mins of tunnel time last weekend in July. yay! __

  11. So, say you apply for a job listed in the paper that you totally qualify for. That employer calls you and invites you for an interview. 3 days later, they call at 7 AM to tell you they have decided to change the requirements and cancel your interview, since they neglected to proofread the ad and changed their minds. What would you think of those people? Make me glad they cancelled my interview! I dont' want to deal with people that disorganized every day! __
  12. Don't forget about Cross Keys. $13 on wednesdays. $17 every other day. Skyvan, SUper Otter, Caravans, Helicopter, biplane, and excellent coaching. __
  13. oh yeah? well my boss brought in bagels last week. Yeah. beat that! __
  14. I just had a nasty dealing with BankOne last month. My check never got there (per my online banking statement) so I called and paid via phone. NO biggie. The lady waived the fee said all was good and we hung up and went our merry ways. I've had an account with them for a few years always in good standing and never late, never paying minimum only. This is an account I've radically been paying down recently. I get the next months statement, all my promotional APRS (everything in a balance was 5% interest) was voided out to standard. They hiked my standard rate up to 26 %. I just about died when I saw that! I called again, and the lady who waived the fee forgot to reset something else in the system, so while my account was showing paid normally, the computer made the *not in agreement* changes... they were pretty ridiculous about it and said they could do nothing. SPoke to management, they said the same. By the end of this month I will have no more balance with them. screw that. Of course, I will leave the account open to show available unused credit and account longevity! Discover and MBNA have been a pleasure to deal with. Bank One can eat belly button lint. __
  15. ah, what could POSSIBLY go wrong?? __
  16. *snicker*. Mike has butt-bones in his head. __
  17. stairstep diamond, bow, sidebody, meeker are pretty easy to take out. Meekers will tend to spin on people who aren't really aware, though. Caravan is similar to the otter exits, except the door is slightly smaller. You'll feel like you have way too much room when jumping in the otter if accustomed to the caravan. Exit speed seems a little slower to me in the caravan. I like launching the bow with newbies. Easy to present and pretty typical of exit positions. check out omniskore for the dive pool images.
  18. I'd argue against buying another suit. You'll be amazed at how quickly 4way teams come and go. It's a neat idea, thinking about *matching*, but that money is usually best invested elsewhere, especially for a beginning team. Take that 2-300$ per person and go to the tunnel or hire a coach. If you're serious enough for thoughts of matching suits, you're serious enough for the tunnel and coaching.
  19. 612. lucky number 13 was the winner. uneventful spinning not-opening jedei. kept calm, kept my handles, landed my reserve in the peas. Promptly was yelled at by my boyfriend for pulling low. I never realized how similar my main and reserve looked... teehee. He didn't see the cutaway and just thought I was pulling in the basement. haha! __

    Weekend Numbers

:0:0 went to arkansas for a wedding with a hot guy in a tux this weekend. Met up with Kris and drank wayyyyy too much beer, saw some she-males, took Galen to the gallows and went to a real rodeo. Wedding was uneventful, but the after-party was great, since another girl and I ran out with the rest of the keg!!! __
  21. So, you didn't per se get pied though? Congrats Lisa! Now that you have 1000, do you feel safe jumping with me?? __
  22. SO many people. Mark Kruse, Doug Forth, John Eddowes, Doug Park, Boxman, Roger Ponce, all the old timers who took time to actually jump with me when I didn't know my hackey from a hole in the ground, the Jetstream guys, Stuey (simply for teaching me to have fun )... __
  23. I'm not a fan of the 4-day certification. Most of the instructors I've met prefer students to take the one night a week classroom/pool deal. It's a longer time for things to actually sink in, and students aren't relying on short term memory for emergency skills. I went through SSI. No regrets with that. The instructors have been nothing less than wonderful. One thing to note is that most of the organizations are interchangeable. IE, you do open water through SSI, you can do Advanced through PADI. PADI is more accessable where I live now and I've been told no problem to pick up with the other org. Definitely consider a dive computer (eventually). Mine has been irreplaceable. As a newbie, if something goes wrong, you lose a buddy, who knows, you may (unfortunately) have to ascend on your own. COmputers help monitor your ascent rate. If you start diving nitrox mixes, well, you'll need one. As for equipment, it's not as expensive as skydiving stuff. I picked up a pretty cheap BC which works fine for me. Look for local dive shops with clearance tables or tent sales. I got a bunch of stuff at amazign prices. __
  24. I spent a nice day in the ER a month ago due to a hungry 8 legged friend snacking on my feet while I was sleeping at camp (work related). Oddest thing ever. All of a sudden my feet were swollen beyond Teva-fitting size, itched beyond belief, and I'd lost feeling in toes due to the swelling. Within an hour I had huge (like almost the circumference of my leg huge) bulls eye rashes working their way up my legs. Not cool. ER doc said it was definitely a spider, as the steroids kicked in and swelling went down a little you could see the little *fang* bites in the center of bruises in my feet. No rotting tissues or anything, but a nice course of prescriptions that made life not fun! __
