Probably not the nest weekend for a road trip to FL. That cat 3 hurricane is going to cross over the state on Saturday, meaning lots of floods and you may not get here or home. __

The outer edge of the huge storm that is Charley is here in west palm. I woke up about 15 mins ago to a "Whooooooosh!" then downpour! wicked, i'll be up for a while watching outside, this is enough for me, tampa can keep the eye of it.... tornado watches and waterspout conditions, guess who's not going to work today?? __

Watch out for Galen. Last night he mentioned going to the beach, popping his main and seeing how far he'd go. __

how about hurricane-packing party at stacy's? this is my last weekend in west palm. I've got a car full to go to Salvation army, lots of trash, and lots of glass stuff to get wrapped up and boxed. Then of course, a week of eating "the things left in the freezer." I've pretty much got chicken, black beans, and broccoli for a week. __

tropical storms, missy. bonnie is at about 50 mph winds and probably won't become a hurricane. supposed to hit tallahassee-ish tomorrow, they already have a watch. CHarlie is the trouble maker, hitting Jamaica today and predicted to go straight up florida. it's winds are at 65 mph now and strenghthening. it's going ot be a wet weekend! __

Looks like FLorida is getting slammed this weekend! Bonnie could nail the northwest side of FL. Charlie is just going to take the whole state. Charlie could be a hurricane by the end of the day. Sounds like a blockbuster weekend! __

Bainbridge Quarry? That's where I did my check out dives. I got certified through SSI when I was 11 or 12 years old, so dad would have a buddy on vacations. Moved to FLorida, got re-checked out since it had been a while. Florida diving is amazing here on the east coast, better than what I saw in Cozumel. __

no offense, but if I walk away frm my gear, I check it when I come back. Always do a full gear check RIGHT before gearing up. A lot can happen in 20 minutes with unattended gear. __

Just some advice- it's usually better to post ride requests earlier in the week. A lot of people probably left last night to head to the DZ- esp since there's a boogie of sorts going on this weekend.

You bet your sweet bippy! I had better see your smiling self at LEAST at New Years. We'll forget the strawberries and just drink champagne and chocolate liquor this year. Apparently you haven't seen Siesta Key. Which means you'll have to come stay at my place, since now I have TWO bedrooms and go see it! __

unlimited beer is included in your registration. granted, it's miller lite or something crappy like that, but it is free. There is also a bar that sells margaritas, etc etc, and other frou-frou drinks. those aren't included. __

no, it was more like "We'd like to make a decision by the end of the week." of course, taht decision was to see who would interview AGAIN the next week. blahhhhh. packing sucks. but it will be more fun when I drink more sangria! __

I interviewed four times. These people had no decision making skills whatsoever. It shold have been obvious to pick me, I mean, come on I'll be managing a program at an assisted living for late stage dementia and alzheimers residents. Doing support groups, hiring and firing nursing staff, etc. __

And a fourth interview with them this morning. Getting a little ridiculous, but I should *actually* know by Weds or Thursday. Found a cute condo to rent, just have to send the deposit upon being hired.... it's going ot be a long 2-3 days! __

My Bev suit was pretty expensive by the time I got done adding options (cordura mega booties, Majik style grippers, inside grippers, larger grippers, etc etc), but I've had it for 3 years through florida heat and it is still pristine. I've had people carry me around by the grippers, no damage. I have some *creative* landings at times and still no wear on the suit. 7 hours or so of tunnel flying, can't tell. Bevs are bulletproof. __
