hmmmm.... I'm thinking about this event. With all the storms in FL, I feel like a whuffo again. __

CK is about a 2 hour drive. Not a bad drive at all. Use Shani's directions above, or you can even take 95 straight up to Philly, then take 76 east over the whitman bridge. DUmps you on rte 41 or 42 in NJ, the web site directions will get you from there. same travel time. __

sigh. my boss sees no need to start thinking about evacuation for our 90+ residents. SHe thinks that the staff will be perfectly safe in a cat 4-5 storm driving into work and staying in a building that is way overdue for a new roof, surrounded by trees, and not boarded up. She claims that tying the doors shut will be fine. This roof lost some shingles in the weak outskirts of Charlie. It will pop off in Ivan, like a champagne cork. I lvoe the residents and want them to be evacuated to safer places if this comes through, but also am not putting myself in danger if powers higher up think irrationally. anyone know any emplyment or safety laws? I'm going to have to tell her I'm leaving the area if ths hits at our AM meeting tomorrow. Hopefully, I won't lose my job. Also, I haven't been able to get renters insurance since moving to Sarasota. NO one is writing policies due to the storm. If my condo floods or gets trashed, I Lose everything. Ivan, please go somewhere else. __

I used to have TMobile. It was good so long as I was in a city or major area. It was wonderful up north. However in FL, It only seems to work in Orlando and on the coasts. I lost all signal every time I drove across the state. Verizon has great signals here. __ -
weather permitting, I'll be out at the Hills the last Sunday of this month. I'll be there this sunday to drop off my rig for a repack, so I unfortunately won't be able to jump then. I'm usually a the Bomb Squad Table when I'm around.

yeah. holidays are difficult to plan travel. I'll just have my own bytch boogie a weekend later then. Mary, andrea and eeneR can come to that one! It can be the Bytches Bitches Boogie. I'm sure we can cause enough trouble for a whole DZ of people! __

I believe the boogie is thanksgiving weekend. I'm scheduled to be on call that weekend which means I can't leave the area. Only possibility is to be there friday only, lots of driving for one day... __

Swampy! He and Doug were HILARIOUS when they got going. One night, Doug wanted a meat ball sub from WaWa in the worst way. He piled Kuske and I into the company van and drove down there. Kuske was whining because he didn't have any money but was hungry, of course drunk since it was some odd hour of the night/morning. We lost Craig in WaWa, and later found him sitting in an aisle eating chips and cookies quietly. All he said was "I've got the munchies." __ __

I forgot too. I was at work all weekend with the hurricane. Told my boss I was observing labor day today. __

Craig did a lot of work around Cross Keys. When they built the deck around the back of the main hangar, Craig nailed his foot to the deck. He just had an odd way of getting into strange predicaments. I remember running into him at CSS over Easter or Thanksgiving one year. Somehow, after a few/lot of beers, he decided randomly that I could not carry him around. I'm not sure where that came from, but I carried him around CSS for a while! __

My friend Nicole lost her home to Frances. Her whole neighborhood had over 2 feet of flood waters and had to hang white sheets outside the house to signal emergency resue BOATS. so much water they had to send boats doen the once street. __

We lost power at work. Imagine a locked unit for severe dementia residents... with the door locks NOT working. we had to play hall monitors. I was there 36 hours straight, I called in my employees to take shifts, because those of us there were delirious. I slept an hour with my face on my des. Htere's power at home, I'm here till I relieve some people tomorrow morning. ugh. __

we got taht first little band through here too. not bad. we've got winds up to about 32 mph now, predicted to get only up to 50 mph here. We're not jumping because in these winds galen's big sabre 190 would back up to cozumel. __

that area Jib was talking about is now Tropical Storm Ivan. Ivan is predicted to become another cat4 in just a few days according to NOAA. IVAN!!!! take care of this! __

usiaarways got me a good bereavement fare a few years ago from palm beach to laguardia. the other airlines i called were ridiculous though. __

MOrningstar Farms makes an EXCELLENT black bean patty. I'd choose that over regular burgers ANY day. wonderful! Also Chilis restaurant offers black bean patties instead of burgers and they are great too. __
