I can't do the puff test. I've been having eye exams since I was 7, and never have been able to keep my eye open. They end up fighting with me for 15 minutes and wasting the puffs of air. Each time they don't believe me when I say "I can't do that, give me the eye drop test or another alternative." They continue to say "no, you can." Now, after 20 years, what do I know? I also find it hilarious when they take out my contacts to do the standard test and inevitable have to tell me to go to another room. I'm BLIND without my lenses. I stumble around the office like a drunkard. __

you'll have to check with galen on that one. He has to sign my permission slips. I think yo need to live closer to teh airport, so when you FORGET to pick people up (or just continue sleeping), you'll be within 5 minutes. It's just considerate. __

sweet! I'll be able to use you as a hurricane evacuation location! __

I've had the level one of reiki training. Had a girl where I used to work who was a Reiki Master and certified to teach it, and she was amazing. __

APparently ICE had a camera failure and used a meet videographer for video. (according to omniskore). This is a big NO NO, since the videographer is part of teh registered team. That knocked them out of the running. __ -

November...where would you jump in the US?
Stacy replied to Pendragon's topic in Events & Places to Jump
November is in the peak of the zhills season. Lots of people from overseas here, lots of people from all over the US escaping the cold north. You could live there for two weeks (either tenting or if you call ahead enough I believe there are some RVs for rent). Manifest also can set you up with a ride from the airport and back if you dn't want to rent a car. Once you get to the DZ you don't need a car really. There's food/a bar on site with CHEAP beer ($2 for pretty much anything), substantial gear store, private bathrooms/showers. There are people who actually LIVE there so there are always peopoe around, especially in the november-march times. As for jumping, there are organizers there for pretty much all skill levels, coaching if you want that type of learning, or manifest will put out an announcement ifyou are new and looking for a two way, etc etc. One of the friendliest places around. Another plus to FL in general is that there are 4 other DZs (Space Center, Sebastian, DelANd, and Sebastian) as well as the tunnel within 2 hours drive, mostly within an hour. If you have a car, it's easy to take a day trip to another new place. __ -

ZHills is a definite option. they have coaching in all disciplines, coaching that integrates tunnel (Orlando Tunnel is an hour away approx), great facilities, lots of locals so there are always people around and it's easy to get to from Tampa airport. __ -
I'll be back next weekend. Trying to be a regular, even moved closer but the damn storms have wreaked havoc on skydiving. That and working alternating weekends. I'll be back, scary as ever. __

flannel PJs (yes even in FL), but fuzzy black slippers. 3 year old glasses, and hair amuck in clips. I hate hair on my neck and in my face when sleeping.

Best wishes lisa. Make sure you take the rest of those packing peanuts with you for some poor unsuspecting CA motorist... __

WHoohoo! R-E-S-P-E-C-T.... Just got home from working through the storm. The ALF lost some roofing and some shutters and 60% power (on three different power setups), but other than being hot, sticky, and dark things were OK. Lots of branches and stuff, there was a little water inside my door when I got home. Tonight I watched my boss get trashed on wine. Only been there for a month and I have years of blackmail now. I hope my rig is OK up in ZHills!! __

I wish I had insurance. Since I moved, which was right after Charley, no ins. companies will even write a quote until "at least 2 weeks after the storm moves through." Problem being, two weeks "after the storm" there's always another one. I just wanna give them a few hundred $$ and have some peace of mind. __

I just took my parents to tampa airport. they were supposed to leave tomorrow afternoon, but cut the trip short due to Jeanne coming for a visit. They are supposedly shutting TPA down after 9:30 this evening, and they got on the last delta flight outta there. Be tthat will be a bumpy flight! sigh. the way this season is going, it's cheaper for me to sell my gear and just rent it when there isn't a hurricane. I'll probably be headed to work again this evening until monday. __
