    Im waiting

I have a stuffed duck from Aflac that when you press his beak he says "affffffflaaaac" in a duck voice. I have a hospital insurance policy through them and got it when i signed up.
  6. i feel your pain, dave! Last month in west palm we got 26 inches of rain. YIKES!!!! this month we are at 6.5 already. In repayment, I think that August HAS to be beautiful. as well as the next two weekends for our training and meet. bleeeech.
  7. cool logo, but the poor chick doesn't have leg straps. I think she may want to get that rig checked out.
  8. the WFFC video is available on DVD limited edition this year. I'm gonna try my hardest to make it in the vid!!!!
  9. the best is when someone comes up from behind her and grabs her, her eyes get really big. =c)
  10. there is a family @ my old DZ who we call the dammits. they have a dog named slider. Slider Dammit. that's a cool dog. It even likes beer. =c)
  11. i like to try and make the videographer feel as integrated to the team as possible. Video is not as easy as it may seem, it's just as easy to get a vid bust as it is to get a bust on a block move or missed grip. When a team has a steady video person for an entire season, it's easier to feel like 5 teammates, as you do spend a lot of time with each other. When a team is using different people for each meet this is harder. Videographers get medals too at meets for their work, should travel with the team, participate in phone ocnferences, even pop in teh tunnel a bit if they like. it's only fair, they are sacrificing thier time too. Last season the team I jumped with picked up slots and pack jobs for our videographer. We were a fairly low key team, out to learn about 4way and have fun. Our videographer was new to video and 4way video. Everyone was learning, he didn't want anything beyond the jumps/packs. If a bust was his fault he picked up the slack for it. This season we pay our videographer, as well as slots and packs. the camera fliers are more experienced, and the goals of my group this year are a little higher than last season. ie- i think it depends on the level of the videographer and team's goals.
  12. you may want to call chambersburg skydiving center (in PA) and ask them. they may know someone in your area, only DZs I know of in MD are out towards the ocean, close to salisbury.
  13. I've jumped the heatwave and stiletto in similar sizes (130-135 area) and noticed the same things as above. HW seemed to have a MUCH flatter glide, i was amazed at how a normal set up for me landed me beyond my usual target. was not expecting that at all. good flare, pretty responsive. didn't feel as responsive (HW) as my jedei, but comparable to a stiletto. overall teh heatwave felt "softer" than a stiletto IMHO. i'd jump either, no major quirks either way. have two teammates that swear by PISA.
  14. 3 come to mind immediately. anyone who knows me will understand that this is incredible, generally all my landings (up to a certain point) have humour value. 1. Delmarva. NSL meet. break off, uh oh teh pilot had forgotten to adjust jumprun to fit the different plane speed- we get hosed. landed in a soy bean field (muddy and hot), on landing my feet get tangled in bean vines and i fall over on my face. Looked like a giant refried bean. 2. Carolina SKy SPorts, Easter Symposium 2001. Demoed a cobalt canopy and well, didn't exactly flare. went across the landing area pretty damn fast screaming through a full face helmet. Stop, Drop, and Roll. 3. deland, FSL meet #6 this season. after 2 weeks of puring rain, the whole dz was pretty much a swoop pond. came in for what should have been a nice landing except the water factor... splash, slip n slide. i was soaked through my jump suit.
  15. only been jumping for 2 years but i'm averaging 250-300 each year. adds up fast!!!
  16. here's the write up from 4way.org 44? Majik coulda done 44 on the hill right?
  17. i've landed about 1.5 miles from the DZ @ Sam's Club once. right by the main road in the parking lot. uneventful, but got soem really cool looks from the patrons. =c)

they're not binoculars, they're enhanced sunglasses. FL sun is dangerous you know!!!
  21. saw a new type of D bag on an odyssey this weekend that doesn't use rubber bands at all. hard to explain but there are two locking stows done with built in bungee like things, other lines coil on top loosely and a tuck tab-looking flap over top closes it. the guy jumping it hasnt' had any problems, although i'm assuming it's still in the test phase now.
  22. i'm not mad at the canadians. it was nice in FL on sat to jump!!!!! thank yuo canada for being far away from sebastian!
