Things you dont like about skydiving?
monkycndo replied to swoopfly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
As a wingsuiter, I sit near the pilot. There are not nearly enough ladies coming forward and asking the pilot for extra altitude. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity -
Just saw some knock off RW suits from Pakistan. Cheap materials put together very poorly. Some of the seems were coming apart after the first use. Stick with a known company. Pepperell uses plain old blue mechanics coveralls. Cheap and do the job. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Many providers are still providing unlimited, but once you reach a designated limit, they start slowing your connection way down. They are trying to fight people tethering computers. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Nope. But a crew rig often has shit........ I mean canopy fabric, toggles, extra hook knife sticking out from underneath a flap. It adds character. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Any experience with non-factory made linesets???

Having seen the work that Pete does, I point anyone that asks towards him for relines. Dropping off a canopy this weekend for a new lineset. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity -

I worked in a hospital for a number of years. It happens. And that is all I'm saying. Yeah, I'm not telling stories online. You catch me at a boogie with a few beers in me? Well... Please tell me you mean after drinking the beers and not having the can/bottles in you. -shudder- 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Nothing I drive goes that fast, even the ST1300, although my radio does. Thanks for playing. Yup, can't outrun a radio. Bwahahahaha 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

I was taught to kick. If two students are on the same frequency, kicking would allow the instructor to know the radio is being heard. But unless they see both students kicking at the same time, the instructor might not realize both students might be following instructions only meant for one of them. To counter this, an instructor from a static line dropzone told me he always called out on radio the color of the canopy that the instruction was being given to. Easy way to keep a mistake from being made. If the canopies shared the same color, describe it by center cell or some other method to differentiate. Eliminates having to remember the students name. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Am I taking these forums too seriously?
monkycndo replied to ILikePizza's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The newer people to this site that tend to get the "read the SIM- do a search-etc" are the people that have obviously not taken any effort to try and find the information they are looking for. If they had said "I am new to the board, tried the find and answer but couldn't, could someone point me in the right direction," the supposedly crotchety old farts like Pops, the bytch, and even myself would be bending over backward to help. But those few words to start the post were even to much effort for some of the folks that come on and want to be spoon fed the info they are asking for. I guess we could start a library of our individual posts that we could just send the new person to. But that could be accomplished by them hitting the search button as well. I often find interesting information I wasn't looking for as I search for the thing I wanted. But it isn't the immediate gratification that the "tell me what I want to know NOW" people appear to be asking for. It's kind of like ten kids in the back of a bus individually asking the driver, "are we there yet?, are we there yet?, are we there yet?, are we there yet?, are we there yet?, are we there yet?, are we there yet?, are we there yet?, are we there yet?, are we there yet?" After the first couple of answers being "No", would you be surprised that the answer eventually becomes NO or "I just told the last person that asked no we are not there yet so why are you asking the exact same question?" Was this helpful and provided in a courteous manner, or should I take your advice given and STFU? 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity -
See sangi, once again you don't know what you are talking about. Silent Pumpkin is actually only 2' tall and that is the smallest rig Kelly has even made or can even be TSOed. She tried to pack Luigi's 37' into it, but it still looked a light tight, so they had to get the 21-21 out of the closet. Pumpkin, of course I'm kidding. For all except the part about sangi not knowing what he is talking about. And the rig looks schweet. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

should i worry about my tandem????
monkycndo replied to humblegod's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I did a tandem in 2001. Then started AFF in 2004. I told my AFF-I I did the tandem and he logged the jump in my student logbook as jump #1. It didn't count towards my student training, but it did towards the 25 I needed for my A. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity -

So says the guy with only 3-years in the sport, and thus, probably no experience whatsoever with older gear. Question to you: At what age does skydiving equipment become "uber mega total shit deathtrap" gear? When the new "uber kewl gots mad bells and whistles and is even shinyer" stuff is released and makes our current awesome equipment into "uber mega total shit deathtrap" gear. 50 donations so far. Here is the line trim chart for the Stilleto. See if the lines are in trim. Easiest place to start to answer both questions. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity -
Daless, it's a Tri. Unless you know something, he might want to call Aerodyne. I had to look a couple times to figure out it has two kill lines held by one cinch. Not a stock slider I have ever seen before. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

The fact that the line cinch is not sown into the stow pocket is a hazard. If the slider is left collapsed or the cinch just "pops out", you have a chunk of plastic looking for a home to get stuck in. Take a look at a Nitro to see how the line cinches are kept secured on the edge of the slider and not a snag hazard. Yours should get fixed and soon. Thanks for posting the video. To all, let this be a good wake up call that if you have new to you gear, make sure you understand how it works and take time to pack your canopy. Being in a hurry can bite you. 50 donations so far. Username: jes87-- Classified Buyer Scam
monkycndo replied to zeldag's topic in Security and Scam Alerts
They want to send you money over and above asking price with you sending the extra back to them. The check they send you is fake, but by the time you cash it and the bank determines it's phoney, you are out the money you sent them. They normally ask for Western Union so they can collect it anywhere. The text listed by the OP is almost a template used by many scammers. If you want to have some fun and waste their time, set up a new gmail account and use it to string them along for as long as possible. The time you waste of theirs might save someone else from getting burned. Take a quick read of the sticky at the top of this forum. Here is a site that explains some other scams. http://www.419eater.com/ 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
