"Trump Promises a Revelation on Hacking" -- NYT

Show DJT a film of the attack on Pearl Harbor and he will say the USS Arizona blew up because a sailor was smoking in the powder magazine. -
Shocked? No.

They should look up the term "pyrrhic victory". I looked it up and here is the definition http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/nov/14/obamas-legacy-democratic-losses-party-chaos/ A Pyrrhic victory is a victory that inflicts such a devastating toll on the victor that it is tantamount to defeat. Someone who wins a Pyrrhic victory has been victorious in some way. However, the heavy toll negates any sense of achievement or profit.

Dems...what is it that scares you about Trump?
Faicon9493 replied to airdvr's topic in Speakers Corner
One day, someone is going to walk into the oval office and give him a piece of paper while he's tweeting and say, "Sign this, sir." Without reading and thinking about it, he will. -

Has anyone bothered to tell this man that he is not President until January 20, 2017? It won't happen, but I would love to see Obama set up a prime time press conference and take DJT to the wood shed. -

What concerns me about DJT is the mindset of the people who voted for him. Character, integrity, and common decency got moved way down on the list. -
On CNN this morning, there is much discussion about DJT's choice for Secretary of State and I hear John McCain say that if we are going to be a friend of Putin, we have to disregard that he is a murderer, thug, and (former) KGB agent. This made me wonder why shouldn't DJT expect that we do just that? After all, look at all of the things we disregarded to put him in the White House.

Trump refusing his daily intelligence briefings
Faicon9493 replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
That is the question you ask of the people who voted for him. What other choice did they have? If nothing else, YOU CHOOSE THE ONE WHO WILL NOT GIVE HATE GROUPS CAUSE TO CELEBRATE! Yes With Obama gone fewer cops may die. You insult your intelligence. With the dozens of White House visits by Black Lives Matter leaders and the stupid comments Obama has made about them makes the link easy to see. He has made some lukewarm comments addressing the violence but has not told the BLM crowd to stop inciting violence. Given the comments billvon has made regarding ownership of comments like BLM has made anyway. Oh, and at least I have some intelligence to insult. I rest my case. -

I think there will be an awakening. Hopefully, it will come before too much damage is done.

I will admit that actions speak louder than words, which is pretty hard to believe considering the volume level Trump is set at. He definitely goes up to 11. That said, since he is a complete political unknown, we only have the words he has used on the campaign trail and the people he is visibly building alliances to go on. Obviously, we can't see through his non-transparent meetings. That said, even if he himself does nothing whatsoever, he has emboldened several factions of the Republican party which previously were considered too nutty to even be taken seriously. Perhaps that is what got him elected, but the Republican party themselves also considered those same groups to be nutty and dangerous and ignored them as well. So, here we have a President-elect who is currently being visibly supported in public by neo-Nazis and while the President-elect has denounced the generic concept of racism, has yet to specifically denounce the neo-Nazi groups. Personally, I hope it's all just a smokescreen, but a smokescreen for what? Well, the neo-Nazis aren't members of Congress, so . . . what is it they want to do? In some cases it's only slightly less frightening. Me? I personally have little to fear from Trump unless he decides to go full-dictator and purge the US of anyone who opposes him. Okay, I'm definitely in that group and the NSA has all the social media to do that against me already. My last words are going to be something akin to, "fuck you and the Nazi horse you rode in on." I don't think it will make the history books, but I'll feel momentarily good about it. What I do fear is a LOT of people I know who are at risk of losing their health insurance, their ability to stay in the US, their ability have birth control, their ability to be open about their sexuality, their ability to visit their loved ones as they die in a hospital . . . Actually, quite a bit if even half of what Trump said on the campaign trail comes true. A lot has been said about the issues of race, neo-Nazis, and white supremacy but I'm not sure if this is really anywhere on Trump's list of priorities. It does provide a welcome distraction. While we are at each others throats, he can be free to pursue goals of personal gain, power, and control over people's lives. Let's not forget about matters like his taxes and what they may be hiding. Let's not forget about matters of conflicts of interest, that he is quick to point out that they won't apply to him when he is President. -

My question about DJT and making America great is whether he is talking about moving forward or moving back. How far back? The farther back you go, the worse it gets for people of color in this country. Moving forward with some of the people he is putting on his team is great cause for concern also.

Longmont City Council will take up skydiving noise
Faicon9493 replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Stop being selfish. I think we ALL want that. The question is whether she will actually heed that or continue to futilely pursue her "quest" and annoy everyone further. Unfortunately, I suspect the latter. Her psychological profile is a narcissist with a borderline personality disorder. She will persist as long as she has enablers around her. This typically starts with parents in childhood. Only when the damage from her efforts cause her supporters to withdraw will she stop. Then she likely will move on to find other "enablers" and perhaps a new cause. You don't want to be her neighbor. That makes her sound like a presidential candidate I've been hearing about! -
So did I.

My first jump in OK was in 1984 in Chandler. My rig was grounded because of the soft 3-ring issue. One of the guys was nice enough to let me borrow a rig that had a Paraflite Swift for a main chute.
