You do know that you could have posted these all on one tread right? Anyway, thanks for posting them, very funny, I enjoyed them lots. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."

Jimmy doesn't have to get naked to steal all of our women. When Jimmy sees something he likes, Jimmy takes it and if you know whats good for you, you will say, "Thank you Jimmy for taking my wife. Is there anything else I can do for you sir?" True, true. Hey ladies, I heard Jimmy C. is going to be stripping for Chazi's bachlorette party. Come and get some. Frank, on a serious note, how much damage are jump tickets going to do to me this year? Thanks, Joe. I don't know if they have an official wingsuit organizer for the boogie but I'm sure there will be more than a few flockers around. I'm thinkin about thrown together a friendly little swoop comp. Just something like three jumps combined distance of your best two? Anyone else interested? :5:1 5 good jumps yesterday and even though it wasn't my first emergency exit I owe a case of beer for the first time I've ever been on an aircraft when it lost an engine. It was a twin otter so the pilot just flew us back to the DZ on the other engine and let us out at 3500. It was exciting looking out the window at the prop just barely turning. I also met Remster for a very quick sec. Seemed like a pretty cool guy, despite everything I've read on here. Two thumbs up. Good weekend. Joe. Since this is a first offense maybe we should just ban you from the "Mens Only" forum for the rest of the day. This IS the First offense isn't it? The time has come once again for Nebraska to redeem itself from its suckiness. July 13-16 Twin Otter Skyvan Organizers Food Beer If you are in the midwest this is not a boogie you want to miss. Big Planes, good parties, Jimmy Coiner, skydiver wedding, and always a good band (I just can't remember thier name right now.) Who else is going to be there? Sorry, still not very funny. This one is funnier than your last attempt at a joke. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."

Do you have a retirement plan in work?
freeflyimpaired replied to freeflyimpaired's topic in The Bonfire
I would agree with that. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so." -

If your saying I should just "let go and let God", and everything will be fine, I don't think that is an excuse to not make intelligent financial decisions. A fool and his money are quickly parted, you can't just wing it and expect things to work out. I know plenty of people in thier 50's and 60's whos life falls short of my definition of amazing. Most of them would love to change they way they managed money back when they were in their 20's. Yeah, I don't think that I could ever fully retire and just sit at home trying not to spend my money. I'll definitely have some active hobbies or a part time job of some sort. I hope I'm not a walmart greeter. Joe. Insurance is basically gambling. Your betting your gonna die and they are betting you won't. One thing with gambling, if you play the odds, the house always wins! Life insurance is something I have to pay for because if I pass away what I leave behind won't take care of my wife. But, if I had 10M in the bank, she would be taken care of(rendering the life insurance unnecessary) and the money that I'm spending on life insurance would then be a waste of money as the chances of it profiting me are slim. The money would probably be better saved in a mutual fund. Probably just my opinion. I can think of things that you could use it for and I'm sure that there are many millionaires who have life insurance. It just seems pointless to me to gamble when you don't need the money that you would win. Joe. Why would buy life insurance? Who is so dependent on you that 10M wouldn't take care of? I think the key to winning the lottery would be simple. Never spend any of it. Live off of less than the income that you can generate investing it. Unfortunately that does take some self control. Someone who can't live off of less than the make at 30K won't be able to do it at 400K either. The lottery winners got me wondering. How many people seriously manage thier money. So, do you have a written plan, that you are DOING, in order to secure your income when your not working? Do you have a set goal for how much money or income producing assests you need to have to maintain the lifestyle that you want? Do you have a time/age in which you plan to attain this goal? I'm still fairly young but as long as the stock market takes care of me I'm well on my way to retiring in my mid 50's. It won't be an extravagant retirement just enought to maintain my current lifestyle. How about you? Joe. I just moved down to Arizona about 6 months ago. I work as a construction contractor and most of the subcontractors are spanish, many speak no english or very poor english. I have learned more in the last 6 months than I did in 3 years of high school spanish. I hated spanish in high school, but I'm having lots of fun learning it out here in the field. I should look into one of those CD's. Recommend any? Joe. More like go back to kindergarden and learn how to compose a sentence. I doubt they did any damage at all, and people like you that get upset just to be upset are the worst kind of people in the world. edited to add: I think you owe beer for being the first person ever to use the word "Limousin" twice in a single post. Why does that matter anyway? Are "Limousin" cattle more affected by the sight of a parachute than other cattle? If I'm landing off and have to choose between two fields should I choose the one that has non-Limousin cattle? Or are you just trying to impress us with your knowledge of cows? Do you talk to people at your DZ about DZ.com
freeflyimpaired replied to CSpenceFLY's topic in The Bonfire
HAHAHA That is so true. I haven't heard any bad advice on here that I haven't heard on the actual DZ. People need to take things with a grain of salt, and that is just as true IRL as it is online. I think its a great website for exchanging ideas and advice. Whoop-dee-doo! You get one picture in parachutist and now you think your qualified to downsize? If the guy who dies with the smallest parachute wins, your gonna be a winner!...For the first time in your life. Skydive Cancun/ Skydive Playa
freeflyimpaired replied to lister55's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I made a jump there a year and a half ago. It was alright. Definitely a tandem DZ, it didn't seem dangerous, I would take a friend to do a tandem there. The view of the coast was cool and landing on the beach was nice but it took me all day to make one jump. I wouldn't go to the trouble of hauling all of my gear down there again. From Cozumel you would have to take a ferry to the main land but the DZ is right there on the dock in Playa about a block from the ferry. Hope that helps. Did he really believe that? I crossed paths with a whuffo one time that was trying to convince me that he had been out to the small DZ that I jumped at, and had decided not to jump after watching someone bounce and then while they were leaving the jumper that would have been his instructor fell to his death. The DZ had never had a fatality in its history and for the life of me I could not figure out why he would make up such a story. Wuffos!!
