I've been bored at times, just needed a little break, but more often I get frustrated with things or people. Usually with people. I don't like people. Joe. You can only be hosed on so many spots before you have to take action. Chris I'm sure it was a hard decision, but you did the right thing. Awesome! Your right on track for the King Air then. I just jumped that plane a couple of weekends ago down in Oklahoma. No matter how many times I jump it I still about crap myself over how fast that thing climbs. Your gonna love it. If you still like jumping after that come down and party with me a couple weeks later. A couple of times I've had dreams where I don't even pull, hit the ground right in the middle of the landing area about as hard as hitting pillows, stand up brush myself off and then think "This is awesome I don't have to pack, I can get on the next load!" That is very true and very funny. HOTT girls never held my attention very long, but the cute girls could always make me jump through hoops. Oh, and freckles, I am a total sucker for any chick with freckles. Freckles are whats got the ring on my finger now. Anyone have any info on the Hillbilly Boogie? Dates, Aircraft, Prices, load organizers? Who all is going? I'm strongly considering it. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."

I had already figure that being drunk was a prerequisite, but your post did answer my question. So let me count them here.....looks like I've done about one. I guess I'll just mark the "nobody loves me" option since there isn't an option for us up and coming DDer's. What exactly classifies a drunk dial? Does calling someone at 1am to chew them out for not being at a boogie count or is it more of a flirting/bootie call thing? As you become more comfortable with your equipment and skills the fear fades, and as you get more involved in freefall skills your enthusiasm will continue to rise. Learning how to skydive is one hell of an adventure but being a skydiver....well, no one has more fun that us. Hope you jumps go good. Joe. :17:1 Last minute trip to Oklahoma turned out to be a great decision. 17 jumps w/great weather. Met lots of cool people, two thumbs up for that boogie. Met Kris (very cool) and probably owe a case of beer for first time meeting someone from DZ.com. Paxton did some kick ass load organizing including a sweet 6-point 3way headdown with alternating people leading a short flock between each point. You don't do that stuff in Nebraska every day. Great Weekend, Joe. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."

Hey Chris, Looks like its gonna be windy here this weekend, as usual, and a few of us are considering packing up and heading down there just wondering if it would be worth the 6 1/2 hr. drive? Weather looks awesome. Anybody know if we would have a tough time finding a hotel? Is there going to be a good party down there? Anyone going to be out at the DZ tonight? I'm getting excited now. Love road trips. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."

I took care of my mothers day stuff today, just in case the weather will permit a few loads to fly tommorro. But I doubt it. I'll probably be sitting right here waiting for work to start on monday. Saving it huh? That will be exciting. Let me be the first to pre-congratulate you on your 100th jump. As for me, I should have gone to bed a long time ago. So I'm checking out. Thanks for hangin out on this fun filled saturday night. Blue ones, Joe. P.S. I will take you up on that Case of beer somday. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."

Thats to bad. I'm sure you'll have fun anyway. I jumped naked for my 100th. Somebody snapped a pic shortly after landing, and it has haunted me since. Always turns up at the worst times. (new dropzones, first dates, job interviews) Definately wasn't worth it. Are you gonna make that jump tommorro, or are you gonna be busy studying that flowing thermonuculear thingamajig? This ones a little old so you may have seen it before but still funny, I wonder if its true. This is a bricklayer's accident report that was printed in the newsletter of the English equivalent of the Workers' Compensation Board. So here, thanks to John Sedgwick, is this Bricklayer's report. Dear Sir; I am writing in response to your request for additional information in Block #3 of the accident reporting form. I put "Poor Planning" as the cause of my accident. You asked for a more complete explanation and I trust the following details will be sufficient. I am a bricklayer by trade. On the day of the accident, I was working alone on the roof of a new six-story building. When I completed my work, I found I had some bricks left over which, when weighed later, were found to weigh 240 lbs. Rather than carry the bricks down by hand, I decided to lower them in a barrel by using a pulley which was attached to the side of the building at the sixth floor. Securing the rope at ground level, I went up to the roof, swung the barrel out, and loaded the bricks into it. Then I went down and untied the rope, holding it tightly to insure a slow descent of the 240 lbs of bricks. You will note on the accident reporting form that my weight is 135 lbs. Due to my surprise at being jerked off the ground so suddenly, I lost my presence of mind and forgot to let go of the rope. Needless to say, I proceeded at a rapid rate up the side of the building. In the vicinity of the third floor, I met the barrel which was now proceeding downward at an equally impressive speed. This explains the fractured skull, minor abrasions, and the broken collarbone, as listed in Section 3, accident reporting form. Slowed only slightly, I continued my rapid ascent, not stopping until the fingers of my right hand were two knuckles deep into the pulley which I mentioned in Paragraph 2 of this correspondence. Fortunately, by this time I had regained my presence of mind and was able to hold tightly to the rope, in spite of the excruciating pain I was now beginning to experience. At approximately the same time however, the barrel of bricks hit the ground and the bottom fell out of the barrel. Now devoid of the weight of the bricks, the barrel weighed approximately 50 lbs. I refer you again to my weight. As you might imagine, I began a rapid descent down the side of the building. In the vicinity of the third floor, I met the barrel coming up. This accounts for the two fractured ankles, broken tooth and severe lacerations of my legs and lower body. Here my luck began to change slightly. The encounter with the barrel seemed to slow me enough to lessen my injuries when I fell into the pile of bricks and fortunately only three vertebrae were cracked. I am sorry to report, however, as I lay there on the pile of bricks, in pain, unable to move and watching the empty barrel six stories above me, I again lost my composure and presence of mind and let go of the rope. To late I'm already excited. I make it down to Texas every once in a while and I've been looking for a reason to go to Spaceland. Huh? yeah, somebody to play with. Are you really at 99 jumps? Whatcha gonna do for your hundreth? And if your gonna jump naked you should get pictures, you know, for memories sake. You costal people make me jealous. How many turbine dropzones do have within 6 hour of your driveway? Me.........I have Zero. I don't think you can find another place in the entire country that is farther from a turbine DZ than Lincoln, NE. 7 hours East or West (Denver or Chicago) 8 Hours north (Hutch, Minn.) or 9 South (Dallas). I need to move. Joe. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."

And you haven't even made a jump yet? Man the more jumps I make the less I can get it off my mind. Your gonna have it bad when you do start jumping. And it just gets more fun with every jump. Blue Skies. Joe. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
