  1. Hi Steve, The wingsuit capital of Texas is at Skydive Houston! We have 6+ regular wingsuiters as well as demo suits. Last weekend we surfed some nice white puffy clouds! Let me know if you can make it down some time. We should have several birds come out for the July 4th weekend. Purple Mike P.S. What type of suit do you have?
  2. I met Mike years ago when I started skydiving in Tulsa, OK. He was a nice guy. Can someone also fill me in on the details? Thanks, Purple Mike
  3. Let's start a list: 1. Purple Mike
  4. I knew that I would miss somebody. Sorry, TJ. Good job following the flock! See you back at Skydive Houston soon
  5. Last weekend was great! Awesome puffies on Saturday and Monday! We made seventeen jumps over the weekend even with the bad weather on Sunday. Thank you Bart and Matt for flying camera. Bart took a great shot of a four way surfing a fat one. Matt has some nice photos of a rodeo with Simon freeflying in the background I enjoyed the sequential wedge, stack, line, dock scary rolls. Also, the double poop with Potter was solid! Finally, thanks to Pete and Nick for a nice three way docked scary roll on Monday's sunset load! Here is the list of wingsuiters from last weekend: 1. 6. After your first few flights, you should be able to jump in some small (3 or 4) ways with some experienced wingsuit pilots. See you tomorrow! Purple Mike P.S. I will be at the dropzone tomorrow between 8:00 am and 8:30 am (depending on the weather).
  7. We had puffies from 5000 to 13000 before noon on Saturday! Skydive Houston is the place to be for wingsuits next weekend. $15 jumps, puffies, Matt Hoover flying video Let's start the list: 1. Purple Mike
  8. How was the boogie? Post some photos and videos :)
  9. I'm glad you're still with us James. We missed you at Flock and Dock. I wish you a quick recovery. Purple Mike
  10. Nice job Jeff! I had to turn off HD to view it on my computer. I'm not sure if it is my machine, the website, or the video. Anyway, who is the musical artist? It goes well with the video
  11. Todd (DZO) just added an extra incentive for everyone to come down to Skydive Houston for Memorial Weekend. Puffy surfing is even better with $15 jump tickets
  12. Thanks for putting this together so quickly! I was able to show some chicks the YouTube video on my iPhone on the flight back to Houston
  13. Come surf the puffies at Skydive Houston over Memorial Day Weekend (May 23 - 25)! Matt Hoover will be shooting video and stills, so you may end up in Parachutist if you're lucky :) See you there, Purple Mike
  14. Id say with the inherent difficulties in spotting a High Altitude load, that this would be a bad idea... Last year, I had the pilot take us three miles down the coast and one mile out to sea. This gave us about 3.16 miles (i.e. sqrt(10)) to fly back to the landing area from 22,000 feet. We felt like we were far out to sea, yet we were no more than a mile offshore along our flight path. We had no problem landing on the beach in the designated landing area, and everyone had a great time! I'm sure that someone's wife or girlfriend who isn't jumping would be happy to give us a ride back to the dropzone.
  15. Can we make this a high altitude beach jump like last year?
  16. The 49 way at Summerfest this year will be a smaller formation to which you may have already been invited. If you have not been invited and are interested, then maybe you should contact Jeff or Taya about this event. I think that the success at Summerfest will be a nice prelude to the success at Elsinore. For those that don't know, Summerfest occurs at Skydive Chicago from July 24th - August 2nd. The 49 way attempts will take place from July 27th - 29th with six jumps per day. Purple Mike P.S. Fuck the grid!
  17. I will arrive this Friday, and I plan to do some scuba diving on a wall off of the south side of the island. Is anyone interested in joining me?
  18. I made nine jumps on my V3 this weekend at Skydive Houston (The Wingsuit Capital of Texas)! I had an amazing flight around a nice white puffy cloud! The V3 kicks ass for carving around puffies
  19. Thanks Spot for putting me on the cover!! Spot gathered a few wingsuit pilots to make this video in Sebastian, FL over the holidays. Although Spot is well known for his quick video editing skills, I was amazed that he was able to produce this professional video (as well as a few others) in under a month! As usual, Scotty Burns captured some amazing video! Thanks Scotty for making me look good. Justin Shorb did a great job of hosting this video. In the demonstration of the double pooper exit it was very hard not to look directly at the camera. So, we had to do a few takes. Thanks for being patient Justin. I believe that the official release of this DVD is in a couple of weeks. Also, I think that there are a few teaser clips being released on YouTube or Vimeo. Maybe, someone will post a link to them here. Finally, I thank Chuck Blue for teaching me how to backfly P.S. The running poop exit is now known as a diarrhea exit!
  20. Matt and I both live in Houston. Also, Bob Futrell is a wingsuit instructor that lives in Austin. If there is enough interest at Skydive Dallas, then we may have a wingsuit weekend there. Otherwise, we can arrange to meet sometime at Skydive Houston or San Marcos. Purple Mike
  21. Where is your home dz? Are there any wingsuit instructors there?
  22. My V3 arrived yesterday! I plan to fly it this weekend :)
