  1. ALL: Out of my twenty-one jumps, I had one off field landing. This was due to a conscious decision to fly to Omar to get on video. Thank you, Mike
  2. Matt, Do you plan to make a jump on Thursday? Mike
  3. Chuck, I on my way tomorrow morning. My flight gets in at 3:00 p.m., and I plan to head straight to the DZ to make a few jumps! Mike
  4. I plan to stay sober Saturday night. Does anyone want to make a small night flock (4 or less Birds)? If you have not made a night wingsuit jump, it is amazing. I was disappointed that the night jumps were cancelled New Year's Eve, so I would definitely like to do one or two :) Also, I will probably hop on the high altitude load on Sunday morning, and it would be great to have a nice flock from 22,000 '! See you soon, Mike
  5. I'm flying into town on Thursday, so I may get a jump or two in that afternoon. Is anyone else planning to jump on Thursday?
  6. Scott, What altitude did TK say that we will get for the high altitude loads? Also, what time should everyone arrive at the dropzone on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday? Mike
  7. Scott, Have you thought about the tradeoffs between a wedge and a diamond? I believe that the diamond formation will allow the camera flyer to be closer. For example, a 25 way diamond requires nine rows and nine columns; however, a 25 way wedge requires a 7 rows and 13 columns. Since the distance that the camera flyer must be from the formation is proportional to the maximum length of the two dimensions, the camera flyer could be closer and still capture the entire formation in the case of the diamond. 8. Matt, The demand for travel to Moscow in the Summer is greater than that in the Winter. Several of my Russian friends have told me that $1500 from Tulsa, OK is a good deal in the Summer, but let me know if you find anything better. Of course, I will pay a few extra hundred dollars for a shorter flight! I believe that this demand difference is more of a driver in the price than the jet fuel price. In fact, it is not difficult for the airlines to hedge their jet fuel exposure with Asian options, or forward supply contracts. Our trading shop has facilitated these types of contracts with airlines in the past. However, that does not stop the airlines from publicly blaming high jet fuels prices for their high ticket prices. I'm going to wait to get my ticket until I determine the exact dates that I plan to travel. Most likely, I will spend at least two weeks, probably three weeks, in Europe for this trip. Regardless of the price, we need all the good flockers to show up to build the forty+ way. So, find a way to get there :) Mike

  10. Fajardo is the one that I went to before. The kayak trip was fun and took about twenty minutes. Also, The luminescence was pretty good.
  11. I plan to arrive on Friday, Feb 3rd for some scuba diving during the weekend prior to the boogie. I have two other skydivers that will be joining me already. Let me know if you are interested, and I will look into arranging a good trip for all of us. Check out Mona Island: http://www.oceans-unlimited.com/id18.htm Mike

  14. Matt, Try to come earlier. I'm planning to do non-skydiving events prior to the boogie. The trip to Vieques requires one night's stay on the island, unless you can find transportation back to the mainland via boat or plane (maybe the DZ 182). However, there are two biobays on the mainland. I went to one of these two years ago, but I forget the name. Mike
  15. I will be there from Feb 3rd to Feb 13th. I plan to do some scuba diving prior to the boogie. If you are a scuba diver and would like to join me, then let me know as soon as possible, so that I can make the reservations for the best dive sites. I'd also like to arrange a trip over to the ecological reserve on Mona Island. This is for scuba divers as well as non-scuba divers. Ideally, we could dive near this island as well as explore it on land. Check out: http://www.oceans-unlimited.com/id18.htm Also, there are some cool bioluminescent bays. In particular, here is a link to the one on Vieques: http://www.golden-heron.com/biobay.html The weekend before the boogie is a new moon, so the bioluminescent effect should be great! Mike

  17. RB, I put about 450 jumps on my Skyflyer S3 and had to replace the right arm zipper twice and the right leg zipper twice. The second set of zippers works great. I'm not sure of the brand, but the teeth are on the inside. I had it done by Shirley at Skydive Elsinore, CA. I've put about 160 jumps on my Vampire V1 without any zipper replacements yet. Mike
