Supervised children should be allowed to have guns. Children should be taught about guns. In grade 6 my school had a program that let the children shoot a bow and arrow, and an air rifle. I thought it was a pretty good program. Parents had to sign a permission slip to allow their children to shoot the "gun".... But they didn't have to give permission for their children to shoot a bow.

People with violent history, or a history of mental illness should not be allowed certain things. But people that have not been proven to be a criminal, or proven to have a mental problem should be allowed to have pretty much any type of firearm they want till they are proven a danger.
