  1. Personally, after reading some of the words on this forum used by liberals to describe republicans, I thought I was being quite tame.... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  2. Some Key points, during the Gonzales time frame, there was some contention as to whether he did anything bad or not. The chief complaint against him was firing justices who were trying to prosecute bush and his administration for their aggressive roll in the persute of terrorists. The rest is still considered made up by the liberal media. Either way, he resigned when he realized that all the bad press he was receiving would degrade the position he held. With Eric Holder, there is no denying what he has done. His negligence has lead to many people dead with the fast and the furious boondoggle, and his defense for all the voter fraud crap is "black people, no matter what they do, can't discriminate against white people." And he is not stepping down. If you think that discrimination is only a crime as long as it's only against minority groups, by all means, keep voting for Obama and Holder. I also find your "two wrongs make a right" argument kind of disingenuous. Aren't you going to try to defend his actions? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 3. Usually I would agree with you, but in Eric Holder's case I can't. To me he has committed the most grievous crime of all, voter fraud. What makes America work and keeps us from turning into such countries as Sudan, the Congo, Somalia, Uzbekistan, and some of the other most corrupt countries out there is the governments accountability to the people. When you start corrupting the voting process and the judicial process like he has, you have taken away accountability to the people. While he has done other things wrong, as other DOJ Attorney Generals may have, the one thing that must always stand here in the U.S. is the governments accountability to the people. Eric Holder to me has broken that trust. This is not supposed to be a political office, but he has turned it into one. Instead of holding up the laws of the land, he has turned his office into a corrupt army of lawyers to enforce Obama's agenda's instead of the law, and allow whatever fraud happen that he see's fit to take the voice away from the people and allow him to do what ever he wants. To me that scares the holey living crap out of me. Do you honestly think the next presidential election will be fair? If people start sounding off about voter fraud again, do you think that it will be investigated if it favors Obama? Welcome to the start of a new America. Hope you enjoy it. If the next Attorney General allows voter fraud to favor Republicans, don't whine to me. It's the system you defended. Edited to add: And how do you compare an Attorney general who was criticized for to aggressively going after terrorists to this? Holder can't even call them terrorists. Acts of terrorism became "Man Made Disasters" "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 4. Congressmen and women are finally starting to call for him to get out. http://news.yahoo.com/congressional-calls-holder-resignation-more-double-17-043403794.html Remember, judge the president by who he surrounds himself with. Other Holder flubs: 1. Trying a terrorist in a civilian court and getting him acquitted of 284 charges. found Guilty of 1. 2. Saying he would close Gitmo, but had to reopen it. Saying he would try terrorists in a civilian court, then realized he would have to continue military tribunals. 3. Failure to investigate the Black Panthers for voter intimidation. 4. failure to investigate voter fraud during the last 2 elections. 2010: Voting machines wouldn't allow you to vote democrat. http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/10/the_democrats_final_recourse_m.html 2008: Army of thugs wouldn't let you vote unless it was for Obama in the Primary's. http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2010/07/we-will-not-be-silenced-hillary.html 5. Won't enforce Illegal immigration, and will sue any state that tries to enforce it themselves. 6. Most recent, gave a Visa and Amnesty to an Illegal (legal now I guess) who was smuggling drugs into the country to testify against a border patrol agent because he picked him up wrong after handcuffing him. The Agent got 2 years. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/oct/25/border-agent-jaile-arrest-teen-drug-smuggler/?utm_source=RSS_Feed&utm_medium=RSS And at the bottom of the Article, you can see that it's not the first time they have prosecuted a border patrol agent for doing his job. Seriously, after the "fast and furious" boondoggle, that has gotten people killed, what does he have to do to get kicked out? As I have said before, I will vote for anyone but Obama just to get Holder out of there and bring some justice back to America. Since the publishing of this article, I have heard reports that up to 30 congressmen have called for his resignation. He is a real peace of shit. 5. Except in. . . Iran, Iraq, Djobouti, Kenya, Entretria, Somalia, Ivory Coast, Mali, Sudan, Lebanon, Phillipine Islands, Indonesia, Russia, Afghanistan, krygrystan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Syria, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Sometimes Belize. . . . It would be a good argument, except that spending a lot of time on the ground in those countries I can tell you that it's still armed bullies against the unarmed general public. If you could arm, train and organize the general public, the corrupt armed militias would probably go away. But that would take time, blood, and resources from Team America, world police. And all that would happen in the end would be the U.S. being accused of empire building puppet states around the world... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 6. I'll give you a pass on that... It's my point though. Coming to America legally ensures that they can communicate with other Americans (learning English), get a social security number or tax ID number, and perhaps maybe even learn that such things that they may have done in their country, such as commit honor killings, will not be tolerated in the U.S. Also, as I have said before, when I go to other countries I respect their traditions. Just like when someone comes to our country, they can be who they are, just don't commit a grievous crime in our country that might be OK in theirs. Do you know how hard it is to not have a beer for 9 months while visiting a Muslim country? But I knew not to do it no matter how much I wanted to because I entered the country legally. If I was caught sneaking a beer, they probably would have drug me into the town square and flogged me. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 7. Sure they can. But first they have to learn English and take a civics exam. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=d84d6811264a3210VgnVCM100000b92ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=d84d6811264a3210VgnVCM100000b92ca60aRCRD The problem is, they don't care if they can communicate with the rest of the U.S. and they don't care about our values. You try to explain so some people that it's not OK to wrap your daughter in chains and throw her in a pool, or it's not OK to bury your wife up to her neck and have the rest of the family stone her to death and all they have to say is "I don't speak English" in farsi or some other language, yea, Some people might have a problem with that. 8. While women may be a cheap initial buy, I'm sure that even the Saudi Prince will agree that the maintenance cost in the long run is what will bite you in the ass......... Still, if they come pre-packaged in an "I dream of Jeannie" outfit, I might be willing to pick up one or 2 during my next trip to the grocery store..... 9. Awwwwww... And i was getting ready to move to Brittan and go on a crime spree a la A Clockwork Orange... I guess i will have to change my plans... 10. I hear what you are saying. Good on you for not carrying debt when you went to school may years ago and working your way through college. But the truth of the matter is, something is worth what people are willing to pay for it. If student loans to go to college is easy money to get, then people will get lots, not thinking that the bill will eventually come due. Hopefully you will remember what it was like to be 18. Head full of dreams and not necessarily reality. I'm going off assumptions, for this part so tell me where my mistakes are, using Florida State as the model: http://registrar.fsu.edu/bulletin/undergrad/info/financial_info.htm Non resident Fee: $1002.58 per semester hour. Lecture class average size: 150 students. Average semester hours per class: 3 Kind of hard to find, but lets say the teacher gives that class to 3 groups of people per semester, (2 classes per week per "class" for 6 instructional periods for that instructor) Multiply that by 3 semesters (spring, summer and fall) That instructor has the potential of earning over $4,000,000 for the school over the course of a year. if the instructor only taught in state residence, that would drop the cost to over $1.3 million a year. That's not including state subsides, facility fees, dorm fees, or book fees. How much does it cost to facilitate a class and where does the money go? And what about the money from the football teams and merchandise? Is it really necessary for a college education to cost this much? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 11. President Obama offers help to those shackled with student load debt. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/45039424/ns/politics-white_house/t/obama-offer-student-loan-relief/#.TqfsZnH7G_U Mean while the cost of a student loan and a college education is on the rise again. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/45040257/ns/us_news-education/#.TqftRnH7G_V Does anyone else besides me see that Obama is creating an "Education Bubble?" The housing bubble was created by making money easy to get so people could buy houses. People just kept trading houses back and forth because they could get more money to buy a house. The government student loans are given at low rates, and as a student, you don't need good credit. Couple that with law stating you can't default on a student loan, and now Obama is saying "it's OK to spend $200,000 on an education that will only earn you $30,000 a year. I'll forgive you." If you want to bring down the cost of college educations, I say let students start defaulting on there loans. How will this help? Well, creditors will have to start looking more closely to whom they are giving there loans to. What is their GPA? What is their education plan? What is their earning potential when they get out of college? What happens after that is students who want a $200,000 loan for an 8 year degree in liberal arts will get laughed at by the creditors. They will finally get the talking to that they needed...... "What the hell are you thinking?" And colleges that want to fill those classes will have to bring down the costs if they want bodies in the seats. My $.02 "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 12. Supporting a solar company with a hosed up business model is a hole different thread. However, yes, if we cut the business taxes and institute a national sales tax, we can at least start to close the difference of the labor costs. Didn't you claim to be a business owner at one time? by hiring illegals he gets to: A: Pay less than minimum wage B: Skip the pay role tax This is not allowing the government to collect the revenue it needs to do business and is driving down the American wage. When did I say the illegals were rich? It's the Businesses that are hiring them to circumvent the laws that are getting rich. And the more we drive up taxes, the more people are going to try to circumvent them. You really don't see the beauty of Cains 9-9-9 plan, don't you? It is a good start to fixing a lot of these problems to bring back the middle class. Here is his talking point that I like the most: Exports leave our shores without the Business Tax or the Sales Tax embedded in their cost, making them world class competitive. Imports are subject to the same taxation as domestically produced goods, leveling the playing field. Will it actually do that? probably not all the way, but like I said, it's a good start in the right direction. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 13. To hang around the U.S. GE's "Green jobs" are a perfect example of why the middle class is disappearing. Jeffy Imelt (or any other CEO) hangs out here in the U.S. He has Solar Panels built in China. If these factories were here in the U.S. they would be supplying our middle class jobs, but they are not. After they are shipped here to the U.S. a contractor (another "company owner" of sorts) goes down to Lowe's or Home Depot to round up a bunch of illegals and pays them $2 an hour to install them, there buy driving down everyone else's wage. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and the CEO's buy the politicians that pass shit like NAFTA and refuse to secure the borders to control these factors. Meanwhile, with the tax rate being what it is, they can escape most of it by shipping manufacturing over seas (once again, thanks to NAFTA and low tariffs). People want to tax the rich more, but they don't understand that to offset the costs, they will just outsource more further killing the economy. If you want to bring back the middle class, you got to bring back manufacturing. You have to make it economically feasible. End rant. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  14. It will continue until we are able to start manufacturing goods in America again. Plain and simple. With all of manufacturing and production being outsourced, the middle class jobs are going with them. Until the tax code is fixed and they are brought back, this trend will continue. As long as we keep taxing the holey living hell out of corporations that stay here in the U.S., the trend will continue. It's not worth it to hang around. Now all we have is wall street/CEO and minimum wage jobs. Nothing in between. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 15. So they fled Cuba in 1957 instead of 1959. Big deal. The Cuban Revolution was going on from 1953 to 1959 and really gained traction in turning the country into a war zone in 1957. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Revolution I'm guessing you have never been to a real war zone and seen the civilians fleeing to stay out of the cross fire. I would also like to add that every Che Guevara loving socialist out there knows the history of the Cuban revolution, right? Or are they idiots that just wear his face on t-shirt? 16. I say kill it and have a nice supper. What do you think happens when you eat chicken? Beef? anything at McDonalds (excluding french fries)? Either man up or turn Vegan. 17. Well, a lot of us would like to, but as long as they have strong union lawyers and an unfair advantage in the legal system with there making of their own rules because of collective bargaining rights, that will never happen. 23. And that is exactly the reason he will never be President, he Hasn't thought much about the issues. (except the economy) Well, if in your perfect world, big issue that is going to decide where your vote is going is the candidates stance on abortion, then good on you. Your life must be wonderful. For a large chunk of the nation however, jobs are their priority. Quite frankly if I was Cain, I wouldn't take a stance at all on abortion, either way. I wouldn't even talk about it. I know you want him to say that he wants to ban abortion so you can turn around and call him an extreme right wing nutter who wants to enslave women, and while he's at it African American's too.... Truth, he probably hasn't thought much about it and quite frankly won't think much about it while in office. His primary concern, being a business man is the economy. 25. And yet Tesla is doing it in the united states without federal money. Yes you get a $7,500 EV subsidy, but I don't know if it would really be necessary for them. They have managed to raise funds by offering some of the technology that they have developed to Toyota and other companies. This won't end good for Obama. Why is he subsidizing foreign jobs again? Fisker isn't a part of GE, is it? Once again showing at how inept our government is and that they should stay out of business all together and let the private sector do it's thing.
