  1. Wrong country. My bad, Northern Ireland, which is a part of the United Kingdom, Which still scored higher than the U.S. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  2. Racist!! Interesting page, though. I know, why are Obama's critics so dumb, right? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/17/newsweek-obama-dumb-cover_n_1210182.html When the media stops questioning our leaders, or fall lock step with them, maybe that might allow for corruption? 3. Was searching for the end of the internet and I came across the "Corruption Perception index" by Transparency international. I'm Using the Wikepedia Link because it requires less clicking and down loading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corruption_Perceptions_Index I've noticed that we have fallen behind such countries as Ireland (Home of the IRA, creators of the Irish Car bomb) and Qatar (Middle east, nuff said) Also worth noting that in the last couple of years since Barrack Hussein Obama has become president, bringing his Chicago style politics to the white house, our CPI has dropped to new lows. An interesting read on the conditions that breed corruption (I know, also Wikepedia. But I can't dispute what is said): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_corruption Of particular interests are the definitions of "cronyism" and "unholy alliance"..... Obama promised to be a more open administration. Is it to you? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 4. What are they going to do when they realize just how low the returns actually are? Watch them simply quote absolute numbers "- look they made $20B dollars!!! That's obscene!!!" You haven't figured it out? The Cap on what is considered a "Windfall profit" each year will be set by what Obama's boy, Jeffy Imelt at GE makes..... Here is how it's going to work using last years numbers: Everything over $14Billion last year would be taxed at 100% Everything under $14Billion will be taxed at 51% Tax exemptions will be governed by what ever industry is supported by GE, so their tax rate will still be Zero. Ain't it great to have a politician in your pocket? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 6. Oh, Good Lord, of course we're not talking about abused children. And, I'm not talking about never letting your child out of your sight either. But, if you're a part-time parent and are already missing out on half of your child's life, it doesn't make much sense to me that one would do a selfish activity like skydiving while you have precious time together. FWIW, my opinion is based off my own experience as a divorced parent who skydives and shared custody of the children. At the same time, I've been to drop zones where the parents and the kids bond over sky diving. I've seen kids (12 and up) earn a few extra dollars packing and editing video. Then the parents and kids camp out on the DZ cooking hot dogs and hamburgers over a fire pit while spending time together away from the TV and Video Games. It's already been pointed out that we don't all know all the details, I just don't want people to jump to the conclusion that DZ's are automatically a bad place for all kids.
  7. Yes, it sucks how the GOP is holding the country to ransom. How do you figure? To me it sounds like the GOP is protecting the little guys retirement in this case. Or do you not care about him because federal employees don't have collective bargaining rights? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it supposed to be government paychecks that brought back the economy? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Tebow

+1 You hit the nail on the head with that one. Christians can't do anything good, minorities and women can't be conservative, and business can't do anything for the little guy (like give them a good job). If they are portrayed in any other way, it blows the lefts stereotype out of the water. And we can't have that, or the left's agenda might loose ground... Tebow

+1 It amazes me that people can have such hatred for what appears to be just an all round nice and upstanding guy. +2 The guy may be a football player, but he is also human, which means he has a life off the field. Because he's been playing good, that life gets publicized. So what if he wants to try to be a good person off the field? And if you bag on him for it, what does that say about you? Tebow

Tebow doesn't expect jesus help him to win or loose. When has he ever claimed he did? God gives us all gifts. He gave Tim Tebow the ability to play football. He just thanks god for it that is it. God doesn't choose sides in wars, or picks winners and loosers. We have the free will to do what ever we want with gods gifts, whether we choose to play foot ball or pimp hoes. If I was earning millions of dollars a year to play games, I would thank god for it. Instead he gave me a huge set of balls. So I jump out of airplanes and disarm bombs.... 11. This is SC, so I guess we can Identify the people who are killing the Twinkie....... UNIONS!!!!!!!!! http://www.thestreet.com/story/11372755/1/twinkie-maker-hostess-files-for-bankruptcy.html Not specifically mentioned in this article, but Union involvement has not allowed them to fix inefficiencies such as: -Drivers are not allowed to load there own trucks -Trucks are not allowed to carry bread and twinkies going to the same store. They have to be in separate trucks. And one of the big killers is the pension. Hostess has to pay pensions for people that haven't worked for them. The union is making them cover down on other employers that the union represents. Hostess is trying to restructure, but the unions may put them out of business. Commie terrorists identified......... 12. Some people here are confusing high heels with cowboy boots. High heels are sexy Cowboy boots, are... well... cowboy boots. Some women look good in a tight pair of jeans and cowboy boots, but boots and shorts? Not so much. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 13. Well, here I go again stating the obvious, but I feel I need to.... Regulations do need to be repealed, but not all of them. As I have stated many times in the past, we need to get rid of the regulations that create an unfair market. Why is it that GE paid ZERO taxes (actually got money back due to subsidies) last year while earning $14 Billion Dollars and the typical small business owner pays 29%? Level the playing field and give everyone a standard to bank on (ie, a flat tax) and see what that does. Instead of the government picking the winners and losers, lets see who has good ideas. What business are waiting for is the health care bill tax hikes to kick in. They don't know what it's going to do to their bottom line. Once they know, the market will stable out and jobs will will follow. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 14. How did people so stupid as to believe the President has an immediate impact on the economy end up with a lot of capital? I thought all you democrats knew what was in the health care bill? The rest of the country doesn't. The rest of the country is still waiting for the tax hikes to kick in to see what it's going to do to their bottom line. After they figure it out, then they will decide it they need to hire or fire. Until then, the county is waiting. Like Pelosi said, we got to pass it to see what's in it. Until this monstrosity either bears it's face or gets repealed, the job market is going to stay stagnant. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 15. I don't know this one could be close. If I was a judge looking at this case involving a public servant, acting in service to the public, in plane view of the public, I think I could see how his privacy may need protection........ It would be comical if it wasn't scary. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 16. While watching the news and looking at the candidates last night, I heard something that caught my attention: All registered voters in New Hampshire can vote in the Republican Primaries. This got me thinking.... We all know as of lately it seems that the only people the 2 parties seem to put up are either far right or far left. They do this because you have to be far right or far left to get the party nomination, it seems. Why is that? Then I started thinking, is it because as of recently everyone is so disenchanted with politics that they don't want to be affiliated with either party? So they don't register with a party? My perception as of lately is that if you don't affiliate with a party, you leave the nomination up to the zealots. New Hampshire, however allows everyone to vote in the primaries. However, this allows Democrats to have a say in the party nomination.... But it's not like a democrat couldn't go out and register republican for an election cycle anyway... Please vote and feel free to expound on what you think is the nomination problem of both parties

  18. That's just it though, they are not. They are volunteers. They don't get a red cent. They are doing it for the good of the community. Now they are being asked to pay for the "privilege" of being on call to respond. Volunteers are the true epitome of what it is to serve your community. How do you think Politicians would respond if we asked them to pay for the right to serve? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 19. Of course you do. You certainly shouldn't ever believe what a liberal tells you his opinion is, everyone knows that liberals try and keep their real agenda secret. Nope, the only person you should ever trust to tell you a liberal's opinion is a conservative. Fact. Yes, you speak the truth.... However from time to time they do let their secret agenda's and brain washing schemes slip, like they did at the University of Massachusetts. Of course, being a black eye for liberals they were able to sweep it mostly under the rug, but some groups were able to scream about i loud enough to get some media attention. 20. Not idiots, just sneaky and underhanded. Check this out: -State requires volunteer fire fighters to pay for certificates. -Volunteers say "why should I pay to volunteer?" and quit. -State says "we have a lapse in fire fighter coverage, we need to hire more full time fire fighters to unsure our communities are safe." -State now has full time fire fighters paying there union dues. -Union dues funneled back to state democrats. Cycle complete. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  21. Hence my anger, but since Donorcycle riders fancy themselves "special," I'm the asshole... The fact remains that, on the laws of physics alone, the car will win, so it's not advisable to tempt fate no matter how good you fancy yourself on a bike... Here is one that will blow your mind..... How about motorcycles continue to split traffic in the name of efficiency. The more vehicles you are able to move through an intersection in a given time decreases the congestion..... Or safety? By splitting traffic the motorcyclist is doing something out of the ordinary garnering attention. This causes him to be seen. As long as the drivers in their "cages" don't actively try to chase them down, things will be better. When a motorcyclist is hit by a car splitting traffic, the report automatically states him as being at fault. That's just the way it is. Kind of like when you hit someone form behind it's automatically your fault. You were not following with a large enough space to allow you to avoid any developing incident. That being said, how many accidents were caused by car drivers playing dangerous games? I would say 95% This is just going off of personal experiences while "lane sharing" in San Diego. As stated above, I know you see me..... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 22. I think, "But Officer, it's legal" is the best excuse of all..... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  23. Then for everyone's sake Calif. really needs to put out public service message ads educating the public that lane-splitting by bikes is legal there, and that closed-vehicle drivers should cooperate with this. The problem is that in our culture it's been socialized into most of us, ever since we were little kids standing in line at school, to resent (and punish!) "line breakers". Like when there's a traffic jam where, say, 2 lanes are merging into a single lane, and most drivers are waiting their turn in line, but there's always some dickhead who drives up the shoulder to break the line. I've seen some real road rage happen over that. All to true, but the big distinction is that driving on the shoulder is illegal and lane sharing is not. Don't hate me for being on a bike. If everyone rode, everyone would get 50 MPG and the environment would be saved!!! Traffic would be cut down to next to nothing and not to mention what it would do for parking. And the lack of a cage around drivers would allow for more personal interaction reducing traffic accidents and road rage!!!! Everyone should ride!!!!!! 24. Let me help you out here. I understand what you are saying about liberal racism. These guys here in the forum won't give you the liberal answer, but after reading the liberal definition of racism, I feel qualified to answer for them: Unfortunately, the way a liberal views racism is the the same way they view global warming. And project this feeling when they talk about conservatives and the church. It's not an argument that you are going to win because it's based on personal belief and not facts. The "give a man a fish, teach a man to fish" axiom does not apply to them because they will just say that no one is willing to teach a black man to fish and if they did, no one would let him around the fishing hole I got no idea how Barrack Obama became president. 25. Why would you want to open your door and injure a biker? Do you realize that some of us ride motorcycles that are air cooled and must keep moving to prevent the bike from overheating? I had a $1000+ repair bill when one of those assholes lane split and knocked off my mirror, and smashed the hell out of my fender, hood, and A pillar... And the asshole just kept going... The legal term for it in California is "lane sharing", and in California it is legal. While "lane sharing" traffic was stopped and I was traveling at a very safe and sane speed. So safe and sane that I was able to see a certain fuck stick look at me in his side view mirror and then try to move over to squish me. He may have been trying to just stop me, but I was already by his rear passenger door when he tried to move over. He may have clipped me with his mirror. If there was any damage to his car, I really don't give a fuck. That's what happens when you play games with peoples lives and karma is a bitch. If he hadn't been so blatant in telegraphing his squishy/squishy maneuver, I may not have been able to avoid him and things would have turned out a lot more different. You wouldn't happen to know who this fuck stick is, would you? (Road rage on the information super highway.....) "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying.
