Not true. The "cocktail" being used has not been properly tested and its source is kept secret. The whole affair is DISGUSTING, as are those who support it. Not true? You must have a reading comprehension problem. The drug cocktail has been used in the past! The lawsuit was about the source. The source has been kept secret because vendors have stopped selling if they find out their drugs are being used for executions. It's not like we perform so many executions here in the U.S. that we will deprive them of millions of dollars in profit, so this is an issue they can take the moral high ground on. This is what also find irritating. It's like comparing lettuce and poison oak. No, the US doesn't machine gun people accused of a wrong on a public street. Or stoned to death. There is a semblance of due process here. "Here", as in: IN America; but not necessarily BY America. Apologies for the thread drift, but: consider the not-insignificant numbers of (mostly brownish) civilians killed by American drones and bombs in other (mostly brownish) countries. Yes, it's a bit of a tangent, but it certainly clutters-up the moral high ground, don'it? I fully agree. America's high ground has been eroded. To the point where assassinating Bin Laden (with a unilateral act of war) is crowed about and cheered. No due process for "terrorists." We are in agreement here. Not to state the obvious, but we kind of are in the middle of a war. Usually I agree with you but you almost make is sound like we should hold a trail before every operation into a war zone. For the record, we do now have lawyers that vet every operation going on in the war zone.... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. A fitting end to a man who shot a women with a shot gun and then watched as she was buried alive. So no embarrassing farce as I see it. Should have ended it with a bullet to the head. Bullet to the head that might be the ticket your looking for. Cheap and simple. Not to mention when was the last time we hung someone from a crane in the town square? Only Kallend could compare a trial in Iran to a trial in the U.S. and say they are the same thing.... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. that's not the point of execution - it's not about what he 'deserves' or not. It's about removing the threat from society. That's what WE deserved your comment feeds the "all people want is revenge" comment - which is a silly tangent discussion tactic Your right of course. You have to understand that over here in Afghanistan executions take place with the use of about a 8" dull blade and a lot of sawing to the neck. It really is time for me to come home and re-assimilate into a normal society... As far as the execution, my OP was accurate. We know the drugs they were using and they have been used successfully in the past. Preliminary reports are a bad delivery due to a burst vein. The lawsuit was for the source of the drugs. And I still like the idea of the gas chamber. If I ever found myself staring at the death penalty, that is how I would want to go. Look up Hydrogen Cyanide. And,.. What about the distinction between a decent society and indecent individuals? As long as the law still makes a distinction between murder and self defences, it's all good... Is it my imaginations or did the rider speed up when he started to pass traffic? As a rule of thumb when splitting traffic I never went more than 15 mph faster than the traffic to give myself time to react to the dummies in the cages (quite a few have tried to play fuck-me games cause they didn't like what I was doing). I've been told that going 25 mph faster than the flow of traffic can earn you a reckless endangerment ticket "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. What do you suggest when someone with a CC permit must enter a legally defined gun free zone, such as a public school? Leave it in the car, so a criminal can grab it and bring it into the school... If you take the time to see what he had done to his victims, you would know he deserved much worse... That being said, right now they are looking into the cause of the botched execution. The drugs are the same as used in other states and has a track record of working as designed. Preliminary reports are saying the second and third mixtures didn't make it into his blood system correctly because of vien failure. If this turns out to be the case, it wouldn't have mattered what drugs were used. I say bring back the gas chamber. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Your thinking of KISS. No one could turn 7 songs into 35 albums as well as they could... Now I have to go dig up my old copy of Maximum Overdrive to watch again. Anyone still have a VHS player I can borrow? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." I had to re-read the thread. I missed it where Amazon hinted at Love taking Bauchman's spot on the CBC. I'll go sign up for a remedial reading course now.... Where are you at? Bachman may be a member of a caucus, but not he CBC. There are several caucuses in congress. Here are the current CBC members: http://cbc.fudge.house.gov/member-directory/ "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. I think that with her avowed goal of tearing it apart... she may indeed have a bumpy ride ahead. Do you think that most groups allow in riff raff who want to destroy your organization??? Hopefully she won't make it her goal to tear the congressional black caucus apart. It would be nice though to have an opposing view in the ranks though. How does "I would like to simplify taxes and ease up on some regulations to bring good paying jobs back to poor communities." Turn into "The racist want to give tax breaks to their fat cat buddies and watch poor black kids starve." The idea that there are other ways to help poor communities that don't necessarily jive with the left's ideas don't make them racists, and it would be nice to have someone in the ranks to call them on it when they start spewing filth. It's a lot harder to defend some of these ideas when you have someone in your face to call you on it, rather than spewing crap to a bunch of blind followers. Currently there are no Black Republican/Conservative members of congress. She would be the first if elected. That's what makes this so fun.... I think it's a legitimate question. As of now she appears to be leading in the poll and she is also a conservative republican. I think they should. It's not the "Congressional Liberal Black Caucus." It would be nice to have someone in there to challenge the race baiters and to provide some of these people with a little perspective. Of course there is always the option of labeling her as an "Uncle Tom" or what ever the female version is, or worse, and not letting her into the club. http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865598897/Doug-Owens-Mia-Love-file-candidacies-for-4th-Congressional-seat.html?pg=all "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Actually, they do come straight out and tell you who actually killed Jeoffry in the book. He admits it. It's towards the end of book 5 though (the last book). I won't give any of it away though. Comprehensive Pro-Gun Bill Georgia Law 23 Apr 14

Well, just remember that it was you who introduced the analogy... ***If you want to carry and it's legal, fine. If you have a reciprocal agreement with another state to carry there, that's fine too. But to use that as a vehicle to trump another states laws in order to carry in that state, well that is not OK. Can you not see that as an issue? no...we're just trying to pass through your intransigent state as quickly as possible. The idea is that legal carriers are not some felonious thugs trying to take over your territory and impose our way of life...if we were, we wouldn't care about any laws trying to stop us, as it has been demonstrated in Chicago. I remember a long time ago when before someone was prosecuted for something, investigators looked at a little thing called "Intent" Of course now a days with everyone trying to use the law for nefarious purposes, everyone is trying to make everything in the law books as black and white as possible with no wiggle room. What ever the guys intent was, well, who cares? I mean, who doesn't like being turned into a felon and having their life and their family's life ruined because they missed some little detail in the fine print? Welcome to regulation nation. Agreed, it hardly ever is just one thing. I have to disagree. Poverty and corruption are huge contributors to violence. I haven't seen any studies on it (probably because gun-o-phobes need to be able to blame the gun), but I don't know of to many places that have these problems and everyone is peaceful and happy. Chicago and Mexico being prime examples.... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." One could also argue that war is peace, freedom is slavery, and ignorance is strength. I personally like to screw for virginity.... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything

While your history of where right wing and left wing may be correct, things have changed in 200 years. What do men of money and power want? More money and power, and left wing ideology has just become a new conduit to power. Difference being is instead of industry, they now use social issues to divert money to their pockets. "Send me money, for the children. And if you don't you are a racist, woman hating, earth destroying, puppy kicking elitist and I will pass legislation to take it from you. Why do you hate children?" If that's what he was saying, he'd have said it. Have you stopped beating your wife yet? Ya I gave it up the same time you gave up pedophilia.... Smart ass comments beget smart ass comments... My original comment was to get Quade to actually read the article. By his comment I'm not sure it happened. This time Government agents came onto a reservations to hijack the cattle from a native american. Circumstances are a little different. The BLM says it had the right to because it is the trustee for the land, but there is on going litigation about this. I know that when it comes to Native American Reservations, there are some unique rules that come into play. If you could ease up on the wise ass remarks for a while, I would actually like to hear your opinion on this... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying.
