I'm pretty sure that the science of smoking is settled. With AGW, until the scientists can come up with a model that can accurately "backcast" global warming trends, you can't really forecast the future. Therefore, you have know idea the effects of humans on the environment. The UN has issued "tipping point" predictions in 1982 and 1989 and now this. Without an accurate model of the earth natural fluctuations, what makes you think this is going to be different? How do we know the effect of humans on AGW? It's Chicken Little science. Here is a website with a link to a bunch of scientists that happen to disagree with the doom and gloom. Read some of it. They make some compelling arguments. http://www.climatedepot.com/ "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Not really. All my weapons are spayed or neutered and well trained. I also don't let them roam the streets at night unsupervised. I will occasionally let them off their leash, but only in authorized areas. The last thing I want is a pack of wild guns running wild in the streets.... So if the technology pans out, can I finally buy a fully automatic suppressed weapon without all the extra federally mandated requirements? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Let's be honest, when Mark Callahan, a Republican Senate candidate walked into the Willamette Weekly, he probably already knew he wasn't going to get their endorsement. So I can't blame him for calling out one of their reporters for being unprofessional (and he was, "What is your take on the Easter bunny." really?). His actions probably got him more press than the POS paper endorsement would have gotten him anyway. http://www.wweek.com/portland/blog-31574-blahblahblahgate_watch_what_really_happened_when_we_kicked_a_us_senate_candidate_out_of_our_offices.html "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. It's already been said, but it bears repeating again: The New Jersey laws no longer leave that choice up to you. The choice is taken out of the free market. I personally think that smart guns are a good idea, however, mandating unproven technology is a bad idea. Especially when that unproven technology affects one of your constitutionally protected rights. How would feel if I said before you could vote you had to go buy a watch with NFC technology that proves who you are and that you were voting in the right district? And then hope the battery isn't dead when you get there? The other point of this thread is that if it wasn't for the New Jersey Legislation, the sale would have happened and consumers would have another option. This would have helped work out any bugs in the technology and helped with gun safety. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. A storekeeper in Maryland was set to start selling them until he was "convinced" to do otherwise: So if big government wasn't so hell bent on forcing this technology down peoples throats and forcing them to pay for it, maybe this would be moving along a lot faster by now.... Talk about shooting your self in the foot.... http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/threats-against-maryland-gun-dealer-raise-doubts-about-future-of-smart-guns/2014/05/02/8a4f7482-d227-11e3-9e25-188ebe1fa93b_story.html "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Well now that we have established that it's OK for a gay man to have some conservative views, what do you think about the treatment of Carl DeMaio? http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2014/04/28/california-house-race-no-one-puts-gay-republican-carl-demaio-in-corner/ It didn't mention it in this article, but he was actually awarded damages from a liberal political action group who was trying to make a big deal out of him being gay. Hypocrisy is disgusting, no matter what side it's from and Republicans don't hold a monopoly. Liberals show no shortage of it when it comes to reining in people of certain groups that are only supposed to vote or be Democrat. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Agreed, the hypocrisy is old. However, if from the very beginning he said he was a member of the LGBT community, but didn't believe in gay marriage, would you have a problem with that? Well, There is the "Little Sisters Poor Home for the Aged" and just about every other Catholic Organization out there for starters... But Catholics are a dying breed. It's not like there are many left in the U.S., the left doing a great job of driving them out. Oh wait a minute, Most hispanics are Catholic. Why are you trampling on the rights of the Hispanic? Are you racist? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything

What do you think Romney would have done differently that would have prevented the current crisis in Ukraine? He wouldn't have started backing out of the NATO Missile Defense Shield, embolding Putin. Second, he probably would have hit Russia with more sanctions. But mostly, if he said there was a red line that will not be crossed, he would have kept his word. This makes people a little less willing to test your convictions. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." One of Ryan/Romney's plans was to simplify the tax code and ease regulations to lewer jobs back into the states. I guess in your world more regulations and piling more costs on any job in the U.S. is the way to convince companies to come home. But then you were probably one of the people that laughed at Romney when he suggested Russia was one of the greatest threats facing us too. Well, we are now starting to see what a weak America and anemic foreign policy will get us. Yes, I would like some vodka to wash down the borscht comrade... FIREARMS >> So if a similar exception were added to ACA I don't think you'd find many complaining either. I wonder how many religions have doctrine that objects to health insurance. Did you try going out naked in public yet, to confirm that the government has not mandated that you wear clothes? Well, when you look at the close ties developed between Russia, Iran, and China, it's all starting to make sense. Russia and Iran have lots of Oil and China is getting ready to surpass the U.S. as the world's largest economy. We just unilaterally pulled out our missile defence systems from eastern european countries right after the election (Obama was more free to act, remember?) Not to mention the weakening of our economy with record regulations and the introduction of a massive health care boondoggle forcing us to back down from the world stage, we've created a power vacuum. Some one had to fill it. Vodka anyone? Edited to add: Mitt was right, though I wish he wasn't "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Do you really think police are to protect and serve?

Call a redneck! In my area that would be the second phone call. I am thankful we have a real good redneck Christian sheriff. He would likely say, "Load as many magazines as possible and call your neighbors. I'm on my way." Are you becoming a "Community Organizer" now? YOU don't know what's in it, so it's YOUR claim that it's tested and has been shown to work satisfactorily that is false, because: 1. You can't possibly know that. 2. OK has admitted that it used it for the first time. When you quoted me you conveniently left out the part about how the courts have shot down your argument... You should have seen Jay Carney spin today.... "The e-mail was never released because it didn't pertain to Benghazi..." "The talking points were generated by the CIA" Of course, there are certain people that are going to believe him, just like they still believe that the president didn't blame the attack on a video during his rose garden speech. It's the union paid lawyers that do that. But every time the police unions are in trouble they get their liberal base to march for them... and every time a cop shoots a kid, probably one that was marching for them just a couple days prior, all of the sudden the public interests take a back seat. "He's a good guy that was in a difficult situation...." News Flash: Not everyone has the common sense or character required to be a cop. Not to mention what the years of dealing with the less than desirables of the public can do to one's mental health. So now the question becomes what is more important, saving one guys pension or upholding the public trust? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. You are arguing that because you don't know who made the compounds, you don't know what's in it. The courts have already shot down your argument.
