  1. Thanks Dave. Oh, and the same for the rest of you
  2. Do you do it with wings? dudeist skydiver #42
  3. Sh*t. I would never come up with this way of getting into rear float position I will sure try it first on non-tandem jumps... They did that type of exit earlier but they say it is easier to launch this way - they just drop from the step. Both student legs are already on the step - no danger of legs between fuselage and the wheel. The only plus for me is that on GO! now they really go. Tell me about it... we have to cut out some parts of exiting on some videos because it just takes forever. And the spot is... dudeist skydiver #42
  4. Thanks for the exit pictures guys, but all tandems on those pictures exit sideways. I do not have a problem when they exit that way. Problem is that mine launch to the tail so they are turned away 90 degrees from me at best. So instead of "money shot" all i get from the passenger`s face is like in pis #2. I found earlier posts on c-182 rear float exits (including yours). You explained the way you hang, but not the way you get into the position. I would try the rear float, but I`m afraid not to fall off prematurely... dudeist skydiver #42
  5. Hi all. I mostly jump on a C-182 DZ, use BH Flat Top Pro as my camera helmet (video+stills top mounted) and large wings on my jumpsuit. Recently all TIs on my DZ changed their exit style in a way that they get out the door completely and are standing on a wheel step looking and launching in the tail direction. This position, as you can imagine, puts the passengers face way back toward the tail and away from the camera. Until now, my exit position was on the far end of the step, holding the strut, leaving slightly before tandem. Now, with passenger`s face this far back i can`t get a good exit (face) shot. I`m thinking of hanging from the strut and backflying the exit (tried on non-tandem exits), but i do not do if it will do much good because tandems launch in the tail direction. The other camera guy uses wider angle lense on video and has sidemounted camera and still catches only just a little of the pax face. Any advice on how to get better shots in this situation? (Except back floating the exit...) dudeist skydiver #42
  6. This was, a s title says, just BAD landings. That`s it. I was there a couple of weeks ago and I saw some very good swoopers. So maybe they let anybody jump the course, but they are not all bad for sure (an estimate from my Russian friend is that at least 20% are good ones
  7. I`ll video my openings next time when I jump my "small" video setup. We`ll see... dudeist skydiver #42
  8. I have the same openings as you do (on video) all the time. Mine XF2 is 129, same WL as you. I tried just stuffing the nose into packjob, not stuffing the nose, psycho packing it (oh, those were the slammers). Now I roll half of the nose to the left and half to the right, quarter the slider and pull it the in front a little and heavy roll the tail. Still, for me the snivel lasts short, then it`s like yours - searching left and right than canopy spreads fast and slider comes down fast too. 90% of my jumps are with large camera wings and i try to be symmetric and to slow down as much as i can before pitching PC. Someone mentioned not rolling the tail so hard, so i`ll try that... and see... dudeist skydiver #42
  9. Speaking as someone who was also there when the shit was happening i must say +1 for that. I know first hand that on one front, two sides fought against the third together and on the other side of the country there was the other way around. Plus fights among factions from one side (muslims fighting muslims etc...) That war was all about territory, money and power. Religion was used just for defining who is the enemy to the common folk. And for scaring people. Fear is a perfect tool for turning people into mindless sheep and sending them to fight one another. Second, all info that world outside was getting was released by big news companies like CNN and for them it is always easier to simplify things, create good guys and bad guys so average Joe could understand more easily what is happening in the murky waters of civil war where everybody is fighting everybody... I do not trust CNN (and alike) for sh*t. I see this pattern in every single conflict in the world today. Look at Iraq. Everybody is fighting everybody + everybody is fighting Americans... And excuse is what? WMD, freedom, people`s rights, what? No, it`s about oil. And for big companies to make money. But no news will tell you that in the open. It is easier to swallow that US boys are dying for freedom of some distant people, or against evil Islamic terrorists than for oil and big companies profit. That is, of course, just my opinion. dudeist skydiver #42
  10. One jump between 1400-1500 feet. Intended. Demo jump over city from Mi-8 helicopter, tailgate exit, 280sqft Parafoil canopy. Cloud base was around 1600. Demo was of "high importance". We saw a glimpse of a stage where was our target through a hole in the clouds that closed in seconds. JM told pilot to hold that heading and to start lowering the heli. At approx. 1500 feet or less we saw whole LZ. JM turned to me and said: "if you want to, you jump! I`m going." And took off. After 1/2 second i jumped too. Pitched PC straight away and the damn bridle somehow got tangled around my palm. So i was at very funny situation: above crowded area, jumping demo, almost no outs, very low, playing air-guitar with my PC... It ended well in the end, all landed on target, goal achieved, but no more (intentional) low exits for me. dudeist skydiver #42
  11. Yes, multiple times. Both on rounds and under squares. Turned head to the side of course. I like to plan things in advance And now I`m planning to become a "real man" dudeist skydiver #42
  12. thanx, we are considering our options right now so I appreciate every info. I am interested in this plane too, model Centurion II (no wing strut). So if anyone has any experience jumping from a non-strutted cessna 210 or DZO having it as a jump/tandem plane (custom steps, handles, door setup etc...) I would be very glad to hear it. If you have some photos of it to upload, that would be even more great. Thanks This is what we jump out of at our DZ. The only thing they've done is remove the door. There are two seats in the back, one in the middle, and one for the pilot. It can take 4 jumpers. How does the tandem and videographer exit look like? any photos of the plane and/or jumpers? dudeist skydiver #42

  14. If you join the Communist Party, it's free. You don`t know how close to the truth you are. We, the "younger" guys, are always bitchin` to our older skydiving buddies. Back in the day, in Comunism, they did not have to pay for single jump. Imagine making 4000+ free jumps... Huh? Now, you can go to say, Kolomna, and jump your ass of for 13 euro/jump from Mi-8. look at me in Bell UH-1 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=769360&l=e44b5a3c72&id=836952121 I converted to the the Capitalist party then. dudeist skydiver #42
  15. That was my train of thoughts also, but I would like to see a picture of FTP with it and I would be sold. On this Mantle setup it seems as there are too many parts. How would it stand on FTP`s vertical forehead. dudeist skydiver #42
  16. What about BH Flat Top Pro owners with Schumacher mounting post and swivel clamp? Any "plastic" ideas on that? Really. Is there any solution? dudeist skydiver #42

  21. If you were to jump here you just got to have the DUDE mental attitude. dudeist skydiver #42
  22. But if not (no jumper in tow)? Did it happen to anyone? dudeist skydiver #42
  23. What is the possibility of scenario like this: - Static line with nylon coated cable, - after some wear and tear nylon gets cracked, - on jump, the center of the line (wire) is pulled, but nylon coating which is cracked stays in the loop making a total mal. Is this likely to happen? Provided that there is poor gear check and maintenance. dudeist skydiver #42
