  1. ex before this, or after cheerio! dudeist skydiver #42
  2. Little off-topic... On second video - reserve, was there line check (by jumper or whoever packed this canopy)? dudeist skydiver #42
  3. Are you are regarding some of your earlier posts? I bought Safire based on some things you wrote. Still, if I recollect correctly you jumped US made Safire (with some mods)... Mine is/was made in Spain. i really demoed same size xfire - 139 (superhina`s) dudeist skydiver #42
  4. I now have 200+ jumps on mine and from tomorrow I`m xfire owner... Saphire, for me, is everything that you need from a canopy. Except if you want to move on with swooping. It was a great canopy for all those times when I was tired from doing tandem video all weekend and just wanted to land and not to think about it... Plus I got so good at accuracy that I started to hit accuracy pad when I wanted (yes, 32cm/12inch radius target...)
  5. Hm.... I dunno... We`ll see. dudeist skydiver #42
  6. I did. No response on e-mail for couple of days now. If this combination fails, maybe I`ll go there after tunnel... We`ll see then. dudeist skydiver #42
  7. Is this organized from time to time or on regular basis? I don`t mind traveling 100km everyday if it is free (and get me on time to the tunnel). ...Bunkhouse bed is only 400 rub/10euro, you are staying at the one of the best DZs in Europe (people and all...) Just the difference in accommodation price will cover the expenses of course that I plan to do at Aerograd... dudeist skydiver #42
  8. Is there organized transport from Kolomna DZ to Freezone? I think I read about it somewhere on aerograd.ru, but I can not seem to find it now... Anyway, if I get the chance, I would go to Aerograd to do some jumps, and if there is transportation to freezone, maybe even stay there for the whole time and travel to tunnel. dudeist skydiver #42
  9. There are some split d-bags still used in these parts of the world. In (former)Yugoslav Kluz 1(-A) system. It was not like Mirage, but had Velcro on whole left and right side. I used it while I was jumping classic accuracy. It was easy to pack, but aging Velcro was always a problem. dudeist skydiver #42
  10. By going around different DZs here, I concluded that most people in these part of Europe prefer to use metric altis as they were thought during FJC so they just stick with it because it is more comfortable for them. I did it too when I started. Now, i use feet, both in visual and in audible altis. I read a lot of literature/forums and they are all in feet/inch measuring units. dudeist skydiver #42
  11. Thanks mate. That is very good info. Information from first hand is always the best. dudeist skydiver #42
  12. Thanks Vadim, one of my friends from Bosnia was there in december and speaks only best of your company. Camping or cheap lodging is very good solution for us that want to stay for a week or more. For the price of rooms for that period we can fly an additional hour or so... keep us posted. cu mircan dudeist skydiver #42
  13. Great info! Me and some friends are coming in july. But I have one more question, two actually: - Can every hotel in Russia accept foreign gusets. Some of my friends from Serbia were there in march this year and they had to change hotel because they were told that the hotel does not take foreign guests. (?) - Second, is it OK to camp somewhere in the vicinity of freezone? Tents and all? Without danger of being arrested or robbed (you hava to bring a lot of cash to tunnel... not to mention cameras, laptops etc.) hope to see you. - Any hostels? *this is third question, I know... dudeist skydiver #42
  14. Not necessarily. My old desktop with epox mobo displayed the same symptoms like andy`s. mobo just had little led-two-digit-display that lit up and i was able to troubleshoot. Sometimes it started making sounds from the beeper like when temp is off, or memory is not present. Changing the battery solved the situation. it`s only a couple of $. Power supply, no matter how cheapo-chinese-trash you buy will cost at least double. In the end, I think you can buy both for 20$ and in the old desktop you want those babies changed anyway. dudeist skydiver #42
  15. 1. I`d start with the battery. The one that powers up the BIOS. If the battery is empty, maybe the BIOS settings were lost so CPU and FSB settings are incorrect too, resulting in computer not want to boot up. 2. Then power supply. 3. Then AN-2. (* mobo and CPU costs more).
  16. My xfire2 arrives in next couple of days BTW: You can not jump at weddings and fairs with Radical, do you? cu dudeist skydiver #42
  17. Going back to accuracy Jere? No more "bigways" dudeist skydiver #42
  18. Me too. I packed at least 50 times during FJC (it lasted 3 months, eastern-block-military style and I started on rounds...) Until now, I think I jumped only a couple of jumps where I didn`t pack for myself. Packing is good for keeping in shape and not becoming a sissy. Plus you can make some extra cash to spend on drinks after jumps. dudeist skydiver #42
  19. I gotta call 'Bullshit' on that one... What DZ feeds the pilot?! we do. some poor sod witnessed this. dudeist skydiver #42
  20. Turbolet (L-410), 17000 ft, Vrsar, Croatia. dudeist skydiver #42
  21. It`s even better when they bash your door just before sunrise. dudeist skydiver #42
  22. I go with everything that bigway said. 170 jumps on mine. 139sqft at 1.6. And it goes..... Even from straight approach. Effortlessly.
  23. Now you hit the spot. The surrounding skies and light conditions I was talking about, are just like that. I DO get photos like yours from attachment, but only after playing with PShop. I`ll try with spot metering then. Thank you. dudeist skydiver #42
