  1. Ah it awas like one of these jumps (* I`ll quote somebody on this forum, didn`t remember name, sorry) Landing straight in is easy. Basic maneuvers aren't too exciting until things start getting wrong but that's exactly what you're sizing your canopy for - a down-wind landing on pavement following a low turn to avoid power lines you didn't see until it was almost too late due to low light on the sunset load where you are landing out due to a bad spot because some cute girls flashed the pilot, everyone got extra altitude, and your hypoxic friend got his foot stuck on the seatbelt so your climbout took too long. dudeist skydiver #42
  2. I made a couple of jums on one 135. It too had one string slider. Flapped like mad dudeist skydiver #42

  7. Today it`s MS Word on the menu. ECDL testing. :-) Work. I had 60 work hours last week not counting Saturday and Sunday... Plus, my contract is void since yesterday which means I`m officially out of work. Unofficially, I`m still here waiting for renewal... dudeist skydiver #42
  8. Me... And not drinking anything. I`m in comp sci lab and we are forbidden to consume any food or beverages. Students are doing tests again, no jumping this weekend and the mood is "great". Last week was hell. dudeist skydiver #42
  9. My cover story: I teach college kids comp-sci. Mostly graphics and animation. Secondary, I do all sorts of graphic design and DTP. dudeist skydiver #42
  10. Here (see my country) AN-2s are OK for jump operations. They take forever to 10k feet, but if that is OK considering ticket price, no problem. The problem is that you must have 10 people to get to altitude at all times or it is not economically viable. So it`s 2 tandems+2 videos and you need 4 more. Often, after 3 loads we don`t have enough people to fill in. With Queen Air tandems and vidiots go in and you don`t need anybody else to fill in. Than we are maybe ok. Than we are maybe not ok. Since we plan on putting 2 tandems+video than maybe we`re back to OK. dudeist skydiver #42
  11. 1. Thanx for an explanation. 2. Shit. The pilot that flies this QA does not have many hours as jump-pilot. I can only hope he knows what he`s doing. But we went off topic... dudeist skydiver #42
  12. Considering all available aircraft here, QA seems like a better choice for tandems than C-182 or AN-2. It can carry two tandems with 2 cameramen to 12000 feet and faster. C-206 would be better maybe, but there are not any available. I was really interested why "death trap" attribute. dudeist skydiver #42
  13. Why? Flying like a brick with one engine? I did some jumps out of Queen Air, and that might be our solution for next year tandem jumpship... dudeist skydiver #42
  14. Morning! Yup, Friday is here too, but weather forecast for the weekend is "da shait" again. Damn. What`s it like in the upper parts of the Europe? dudeist skydiver #42
  15. Straight. Just coffee and water. Like real men do. dudeist skydiver #42

  17. Remember my remark, couple of weeks ago about Access/Excel... In small, 2.5 world countries, like here, applications in Access are used in small businesses like stores to run programs for daily operations. To me it looks like Access was invented for power users who would not like to pay third party applications, but to write their own programs. IMO, once you are good enough to write Access aps by yourself, you can switch to something better. For my needs, running lists of students, their grades, sorting, evaluating etc, Excel (with some advanced functions applied) serves me just fine. Oh, and mornin` dudes. It was quite busy Monday for me. 2 hop-n-pops this Weekend until the weather rolled in. From Cessna 172. No doors. Deep-froze my butt My Xfire started diving turn on opening that i managed to stop just below hard deck. All in all, interesting... dudeist skydiver #42
  18. Nah... He has quit being dude last week. Who quit being a dude??? Format. In written form. Oooops, must have missed that one Format did it because he did not like the possibility of some very-un-dude guy (like his archenemy on our DZ) join the same religion as him. So he undude himself before that happens. Now, there is no way that I could organize dudeist 5-way. Oh, well.... dudeist skydiver #42

  21. Socialism... Already been there. Bunch of old-timers here were doing just that. Jumping for living, getting payed by the Government, piling up thousands of jumps and all for free. Medical plan included. Now, they are just bitchin` how it was good in the good ole` days. Well FU*K THEM! They were the ones who fought to get socialism down. Now I have to live with it. And now for something completely different... a joke. A Rabbit sits in a bar, glass of beer in front of him. Then the Beaver comes and starts to tease him. The Rabbit just sits still, glazing in the distance, not noticing the Beaver. Beaver then decides to fcuk even more with the Rabbit, takes his glass and drinks the beer bottom up. Then, with the sad voice, Rabbit starts to talk: Fcuk this! I had a really bad day today. Nothing is working for me. First I tried with the gun, but no bullets! Then I try to hang myself, but the rope brakes! With last of my cash I buy beer, put poison in it... and it disappears right in front of me! Sh*t. dudeist skydiver #42
  22. Sh*t. I`ve created a monster. Mornin` dudes. dudeist skydiver #42

  24. Thanks Bree. It just takes patience and ability to explain computer stuff to people in a way that they can imagine it. Birds and bees you might say. PM me if you have any problems. Hungry. I`m off to lunch. dudeist skydiver #42
