  1. Me too... I like the depth/distance perception from your standpoint. And i like vidiot position. Spear like...
  2. It seems that on this Cup there were more instances of playing with hands than ever before. And in critical situations too. It looks like the game needs name change to semi-football or handyfootball or something. dudeist skydiver #42
  3. I see you haven`t been jumping much in the Eastern Europe then. For instance, Mi-8 helicopter is like a bus with no rear end. They just dismount the aft doors. Last time I was in Kolomna, Russia, they had some sort of half-net attached at the rear. It could maybe stop someone falling out accidentally, but that`s it. Every other Mi-8 that I jumped had no rear protection. dudeist skydiver #42
  4. Nice...,certainly one he should frame and hang on the wall.

    Go the all whites

Actually, I can`t believe your country team didn`t win. I like to support the outsiders. Still, Italian team is well known to play "psycho football", you know, they piss off the other team sooo much that they get off balance, get some yellow/red cards, free kicks... And Italy wins. Go all whites! Oh, and our team beat Germany so I`m in the good mood. dudeist skydiver #42
  6. Then I guess you would be sh*t scared of jumping from the back seat of an ultralight similar to this one . Getting to the altitude without safety belt... I know I was. dudeist skydiver #42
  7. +1 My buddy got his hand through loop, the jump was fckup from the start and the raft started spiraling. His hand got caught by the line of the spinning raft. At some time he went for the hooknife, but the line broke before he got to the cutting part. With every rotation the pressure was getting bigger. Just before the line broke the line was pressing soo tight on his finger that he thought it was broken. He did not feel his fingers for several days later. Funny thing is that, just before this jump, I found post on dz.com what to do and what not to do on raft dive, but on the actual dz, nobody wanted to listen. dudeist skydiver #42
  8. I solved my fogging problem. It was the lens cap. I just left it off for the whole day and there was no fogging. dudeist skydiver #42
  9. I thought about humidity also as the earth was very wet because rain, flooding and all. It would explain everything if my friend`s camera got fogged also. I mean it`s hot and humid for everybody. dudeist skydiver #42
  10. It should be done before you get on the airplane! Then if you have a variable present its self under canopy, you're not trying to adjust by the seat of your pants, you're simply adapting from your already decided plan. It helps increase your reaction time and it also helps promote good decision making while under canopy. When i began jumping I jumped classic accuracy. With those kind of canopies and those type of jumps if you don`t plan ahead and know how to spot, you are screwed big-time. I learned the hard way how even if you have a plan, but you don`t adapt as conditions change, you could be in trouble. So I plan. Most people around me - don`t. So I`m with you 100%. ridestrong Too bad for you. dudeist skydiver #42
  11. Two days ago my friend crashed himself doing low turn. Broken arm and femur, severe head trauma, still in the ER... We don`t know why he did it, but it looked he made wrong decision too late. Trying to land in small crowded area, and avoiding the obstacles. 200+ jumps, wl~1.1/1.2, at least 80-100 under that canopy... Be careful. You have enough time to decide and plan your landing, don`t do it in last 30 feet. dudeist skydiver #42
  12. It reminded me of "IT". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89rVlDF6NRw and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WweVv41qQpc dudeist skydiver #42
  13. Last weekend I had problem with camera lens fogging in the middle of the jump. Slightly, but it was there enough to (almost) ruin otherwise good videos. Now, you can say that that is not unusual, but here is the thing... My buddy, the other camera guy, had no issues of fogging at all. We use very similar setups: - same lens (Opteka HD 0.3), - similar cameras (mine is cx105, his cx150) - similar top mount helmets (mine is FTP, his is Vapor), - we packed at the same room, - we jumped on the same loads. The only differences, that I could figure out, were that he just dropped the helmet down on the floor without putting the lens caps on, grabbed the helmet and went for another jump, while I carefully use lens caps. I also use camera condom - he does not, but mine just goes over camera, not the lens and it`s not too tight. Could the lens cap be the reason? Or maybe use of camera condom? Or the fact that he was just sitting more closely to the airplane door (2 feet)? Oh, and the fogging starts in the middle of the skydive, not in the plane or at the exit and first part of the freefall. I`m clueless. dudeist skydiver #42
  14. I have a little smaller main (129), but my container is for 170 too. I had almost exact problem as you. Solved it by stuffing the whole nose of the canopy deep in the packjob. I figured out that before, I was pushing in just upper part of the nose in the packjob (air intakes). Now I have no problems. I use double stows on large rubber bands. 1 foot of slack lines in the container. Slider in front of the nose. dudeist skydiver #42
  15. Thanks. I thought of blocking it with the tape also. I`m always interested in hearing experiences that are proven in practice before I f*ck something up. dudeist skydiver #42
  16. I converted my FTP setup to use cx-100 with camera condom. I can see potential problem in camera condom (b/c of it`s tightness) pressing zoom lever, zooming in/out and ruining the video. How do you guys deal with this issue? Heypeye zoom memory setting? dudeist skydiver #42
  17. Same to you buddy. I`m off too. (coffee today is awful) dudeist skydiver #42
  18. Lucky, still no general flooding here , but... DZ is made on a swamp ground and as soon we have lots of rain, like this season, it becomes one large swoop pond. This year/season we had just 9 jumping days Disaster. dudeist skydiver #42
  19. I feel for ya... Coffee time. dudeist skydiver #42

  21. I`m up for it. This weekend no jumping due to flooded airstrip... So let`s then enjoy in long stay in bed. And hot black one afterwards. Coffee. dudeist skydiver #42
